Now, those people are the true musicians. I mean, musicians are supposed to be the ones who really show that they love and are proud of their music, right? But, sadly there aren't many actual "musicians" out there. Those people deserve to be called as musicians.
If hip/hop and techno were killed, there would be much more epic music like this and motorpsycho! (They have played together at some accations, and released a album together)
@nndlchModi because music like this tends to stress a fragile mind, and with the way most people handle stress are you surprised that they gravitate to uneducated repetitive music that keeps them plugged into a fantasy world?
@tripllblakk your answer is wonderful but is not an answer to my question. your only saying that the so called fragile mind won t be listening to jaga jazzist, for instance. so what? I m sure that there are out there enough not so fragile minds that will listen to jaga. but this is not even the point. the fact is that an immense mass of good music is being produced today and I can t see how eminem s new album will change the status quo.

a reply that's long oveerdue, but the genre is called Post Rock (this band's placement in it is arguable). Similar bands I'd look into might include 65daysofstatic, Friends In The Mountains, Godspeed You Black Emperor, An Album Leaf, Explosions in the Sky, and Gifts From Enola
Oh my God. OH MY GOD! Utterly and totally superior! This blows away the instrumental on XTRMNTR, Mogwai, Sigur Ròs, GODDAMN IT'S GOOD! And they look great too! Earthy, glowing, honest, it's my new favourite band! JAGA RULES!
Goosebumps!!! The best Jazz band going today.

I can believe I'm actually enjoying a instrumental song! The more artists I dig out in internet, the more hope I have. Music ain't gonna be killed.

Jaga Jazzist is the "would-be" future of music if the mainstream record companies didn't have their heads so far up their own asses.

@odindahle There are clear hip hop and techno beats in a lot of their music. You can't put Jaga Jazzist in a box, their style is too eclectic.

Don't know whats the thing. Great instrumental, which doesn't get boring and sounds interesting unsuspectable.

its because they take a simple melody and work with it throughout the song, changing it with different instruments, improvising when necessary.
