  • Yo man, from Seattle and live in MN now. But I worked and lived in FB from 1998 to 2002. the average temp. there is around 93 degree, but what make it worst is the close to 100% humidity all year round. Great vdo of Cayenne. You should have stop by the little village of Cacao about an hour southeast of Cayenne. Great relocated asian village back in the 1970s.

  • hei! just came back from cayenne with the school. was there 2 weeks, an exchange...back in germany now.

we measured about 38 degrees at 4 o'clock on one day. and i must say cayenne ist amazing. love it and the culture and the people. met amazing people and want to go back next summer... :) but cayenne is not really a place for tourists as there are not a lot of places to visit. it is better if one knows people there! ;D

  • Re: the statue - a few facts from Wikipedia: Félix Eboué - Born in Cayenne, was a brilliant scholar. In 1936 he was made governor of Guadeloupe, the first Black man to be appointed to such a senior post anywhere in the French colonies. As governor of the whole area during 1940-1944, Éboué acted to improve the status of Africans, classifying 200 educated Africans as notable évolué and reducing their taxes, as well as placing some Gabonese civil servants into positions of authority.
