  • They should meet my newfie, he's a nutter

  • I love Newfoundlands..Fantastic Dogs!

but ,They drool and need a lot of brushing.

I have 2 Black Labs...basically the same as the Newfoundland only more compact and require less grooming...

but I still want a Newfoundland anyway..

  • 1:02 how is that gray? lol

  • @brittaneyUSA look carefully at the coat and yull see its gray

  • They are the best!!! Well one of the best. My cousin has one, Gonzo! Its so nice and hyper! the cutest and most nicest!! except they can be a little dumb though. or at least thats just Gonzo. lol

  • @Twonder1000

they are among the smartest dogs out there, they are more quiet than most breeds in fact. they laze about cause they like to be with the owners, not be bouncing around like little mutts.

  • i have a dog named FUZZ! ( irany)

she has alotof breeds in her but shes mostly.....uh... whatever it's called

  • @mjwilliamp2000 sorry :( alot of sorry

  • its New-FOUND_LAND, and on the map is not even newfoundland that was labrador. and being from newfoundland its irritating. it would be like calling new york , New Jersey.

  • @brittanyqwe I was just going nuts over that...new-FOUND-LAND...dear me!

  • Very inferrestring!

  • dude! agreed with the shiba i went on youtube looking for a shiba dogs 101<3 they are the best

  • St. Bernards and these Newfoundlands must be brothers / sisters! They look so much alike!^^°^^

  • Honestly, the skeleton part was kind of creepy....

  • can u make husky or shiba inus plzz?

  • New-fin-lind is way easier to pronounce, so I'm keeping with that.

  • Make a shiba inu one!

  • MAP FAIL.

    Labrador=/=Newfoundland.

Newfoundland is the island, Labrador is on the mainland. If you make this mistake around a touchy Labradorian or Newfoundlander, they might pitch a fit at you. Watch out! lol

Also, in response to comments, It IS pronounced New-fin-land. Probably bastardized over time, but ask any newfoundlander where they live, and it will sound like New-fin-land.

  • I am a Newfoudlander. It is not pronounced "New-fin-land", it's pronounced "New-Fun-land" and rhymes with 'understand?"

  • Touche salesman. Touche.

Around here, it varies greatly, from New-fin-land to New-fun-land.

  • yeah i know right

  • Labrador is also a sea i believe.

  • Yeah, which runs through the Labrador straight. (Or is it strait? I never know) That's what the icebergs flow in past Newfoundland :D

  • @viperboost931

um...Labrador is a part in newfoundland (a province in Canada)...labrador retreivers and newfoundlands are also very similar...

  • Can you put the Husky one in plz?

  • 0:35 i have that sheep! =O

  • how come i newfy wont swim with us?

  • I pronounce it as

    New-found-land

    the narrator prounce it differently...new-fin-lind

  • they put the word newfoundland in the wrong place . it should be on the island to the right . they have it on labrador

  • i had a newf but he died at 16 now i have a dobe and it was a big change but dont diss dobermans i love her more than my newf as far as phisical qualitys go

  • Its pronounced "NEW fin land"..... not newfinLIN. And its kinda sad that on the map, it's not even Newfoundland that they point out. *sighs*

  • Uh, it's pronounce NEW-FOUND-LAND only yanks and other canadians who've never been call it newfinland... get it right people!!

  • Its not pronounced NEW FOUND LAND either. Thats how other canadians pronounce it. Its all about emphasis on the right part of the word. I'm sick of people screwing it up. HOw hard can it be. Really.

  • I'm from Newfoundland.. and that's how we say it.. all one word, not three seperate ones.. and not with FIN in it... fuck

  • I'm from Newfoundland also... and you totally just contradicted yourself. Its cool... say it however you need to. Have a good day.

  • and by the way, why are you swearing and getting all uptight? Relax... jesus.

  • b/c you're dumb and i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're from the east coast of NL which would explain everything

  • Its more like Newf-in-land.

  • yea you're right I was a little off

  • racist

  • Dodien, GROW UP.

  • Comment removed

  • my neighbors have a giant black and white newfie that looks exactly like the one in 3:30

  • She said, they are probobly one of the best our the best dog for children that you could find, but I think that both a newfie and a saint bernard are the best dogs for children.

But still one of my favorite dogs!

  • Not really, they saved people from drowning in the sea I think they can handle two kids on the ride.

  • true they are huge but like what i ment was like their pets not a part of transportation u kno wat i mean?

  • Am I assuming you also think Huskies pulling a sled is wrong and cruel? If the dogs hated it, that's one thing, but they probably love the attention they get. One coment here comapres them to a asaint Bernard, and my friend's Parents used to have two trained Saint Bernards that would pull a Hand carved Sled like a pack of Huskies. I don't see how youcan say that two Newies are being abused and subject to humiliation for giving childrena a ride.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, but you technically saw how big they were in the video. At least to post the coment you would have watched the video to see the dogs to disagree, which means, in theory , you saw their size, and were told their strength. So sorry, i just wanted to point out your .... your lack of good argument...

  • Guys, dogs are not like human. they wouldn't tell us tht they don like what we asked them to do so we shouldn't train them to do things that are not in their nature. And stop saying tht they didn't complain after they r used to it, thts just Abuse against their nature.

  • Dogs can express feeling dumbass.

  • my dog is a newfie shorthair (pointer in him) he hates watero or at least the river we dont train him 2 do it. hes never swam.

  • Did you notice their tails were WAGGING while they were pulling the cart? They are happy to be put to a job, thats how a newf is! They thrive on stimulating activity.

  • Bah ha ha ha.

Dogs won't tell you if they don't want to do something? Have you ever owned a dog? lol...

Newfies don't technically have a "nature". They're engineered dogs. Their "nature" is the product of decisions breeders made. Not the produce of natural living and evolved instinct. They're loyal, working dogs that *want* to please their masters. They *like* being trained and put to work.

  • Come ON, they are not meant to be a SLAVE to us. Stop talking like they owe u FFS!

  • they arent slaves..the are working dogs..get over it...thats like saying....working seeing eye dogs are lsaves...or german shepards who work on the police force are slaves....some dogs are bred to work and they like it...working gods go crazy if you leave them to sit all day

  • I was thinking Nana from Peter Pan :D

  • My Beagle is male, his name is Giba, and his is a lot crazy, right hes in the hospital because he ate one plastic bag. I hope that he can recover quickly. I love he very much!!!

  • They should do one on the American Pit Bull Terrier.

  • Although I totally love little dogs... I have to admit that the Newfoundland might be the dog with the biggest heart. When I was little we used to have one. The only "negative" part was, that it always wanted to sleep in my bed at night.... and it litteraly smushed me... I guess we also had a "jumbo" one. Haha.

  • lol Big Bigger and Jumbo

  • HAHAHA i know!!!

  • this is my 2nd favorit dog! after the saint bernard! If I had a bigger yard I would have 1 or 2!!

  • you shut up too

  • shut up

  • Hippo205,

You taste good steam or fried or raw. May may i eat you?

  • We have a 3 year old Bronze Newfie! and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him! We need all 165pounds of him for our seven children! :)

    Best dog for families! Truly a couch potatoe . . rug . . .

  • how cute!! just a big loveable bear!

  • I have a 4 month old puppy Newfoundland his name is Monty after the General and he is 6 stone now. We saw Monty's mum and dad, his daddy was massive and the breeders say Mont will be bigger than his dad. Monty is not fat you can feel his ribsbut he puts on a stone every 2 weeks lol.

  • aww there so cute.

I want one but my parents will not allow this dog lol. its to big lol.

im happy with my border collie anywayz!

  • big, bigger and jumbo! :)

  • I have a Newfoundland, but he's pretty hard to train. And he thinks he's a lap dog!!!!

  • lol imagine that dogs laying on ur lap

  • It always does every time I let it in and sit down.

  • new found lends ?

  • I had two Newfies and soon to get another one and everything said about this breed is exactly right, however, I would give this breed the space as for his size and tail, he/she could swing everything off its furniture. But a great and loving dog to have.

  • is this where the labrador retriever breed came from?

  • The Labrador was the result of breeding Newfoundland dogs with what were known as "St.John's Water Dogs; a smaller animal than the Newfoundland, but also a native ot this place. The resulting dog was prized for many things, but of course, mostly for his water "work". For many years, they were called "The lesser Newoundland". I think it was in the mid 1850's or so, an English chap started to import them into Britan; it was he who named them "The Labrador"; thinking it was an apt (exotic) name.

  • i love dogs 101, keep them comming

  • Me too! :D

  • I like this dog.

  • I want one!

  • Hmmmm some of these vids have been uploaded already. They're still good to watch though!

  • greattttttttttttttttttt video!

  • yea .!.

    I love Newfy's :-]

  • me too... =)

  • i pronounce it newfeland

  • You pronounce it wrong >:/

  • do you know that shetland sheepdogs are also called shelties? newfoundland also has a nickname call newfies so theres nothing wrong about that.

  • Im not talking about they way hes prnousing the dogs name or the nick newfie, i mean when he is saying the place newfoundland "brought to newfindlind by bask fisherman"

    < =/

  • The word" Newfoundland" when said in reference to the dog or the place, is prounounced "Newf-in-land, and, should rhyme with "understand". It is thought that Basque sailors may have brought dogs to Newfoundland with them in the 1500's and they bred with an already existing breed to form the Newfoundland, but, it's not been proven. The Vikings visited here in 1000AD and their dogs may also have played a role. Lets not forget Saint Brenden, who also may have been here before that with a dog or 2

  • Im a native. >:/ mabey its just an accent.

but everyone from here pronoces it newFOUNDland.or mabey everone here is wrong. look, sure mabey in referance to the dog but the proveince of newFOUNDland is pronoced newFOUNDland.

  • Hey Sophia,

I guess it depends on how fast you say it. But, of course, newFOUNDland is "quite right" as well.

Imagine your average You-Tube user trying to find "Newfinn- land, or, "NewfoundLIND, or NewfinLind on a map.

Funny isn't it; you don't find vid's here from "Ont-terieo" or British Co-LUMM-bia, or, Tex-ASS. And, if you did, they would be corrected when "pegged". Why don't these people revise their product. ?

Doesn't seem to matter to them; just keep "churning" them-out...yes

  • How did you know my name?

0_o lol,.. yea alot of people pronoce places wrong... im just trying to clear this so people know how its commonly prounced

  • Most people from Newfoundland, that's where these great dogs come from, hate the word newfie. It is often used in Canada to insult the population here. The widespread use of the term, when referring to the dog adds to the problem. I own a Newfoundland dog and have had tourists address me as newfie because they think it's OK. Would you call a person from Pakistan a paki, would you call their dog that. Of course not. Please extend the same respect to the people in Newfoundland.

  • It's a show about dogs, so the guy speaking has to be an expert on the way the word is said. They would not have a show with an error like that. He said it right and you are wrong. They are the experts, not you.

  • oh and tell InuYasha I said hello.

  • Hes pronocing the dogs name right >:/ its the way he is pronocing the place of origin! i know how its pronoced because im form there ive lived there all my life and i still live there, and just because hes an expert doesnt mean he dosent make mistakes.
