  • Big Brown was little more than the result of Rick Drugtows steroid and juiceman practices. He was loaded on steroids for the 1st 2 legs of the TC and Drugtow admitted he took him off of them for the Belmont. Drugtow has a confirmed 68 recorded medication violations in his career at 15 different tracks. The International Racing Commission has asked the NYRA to permanently ban him. They will likely not do it because they dont care about racings integrity any more LOL

  • big brown just didn"t feel like running that day he just said to hell with this i think he thought hey two out of three aint bad lol

  • Hey truth hurts-get over it newbies to the sport

  • If people want to talk about a fluke horse it's Da Tara. He has only won one Grade 1 and that was the Belmont.

  • Yes he was.

And BB was on steroids but taken off. The horse was rank in the Belmont and the shoe was a factor. He came back to win the last of his races.

  • @bombomb09 He barely beat a wek field at Monmouth and finished his career with a win over very mediocre foes. Reality

  • Yes I do know for a fact that Big Brown was on a steroid. His trainer said that he was when he announced that he took Brown off them to prove that he was worth his salt in the Belmont and big surprise, he lost (pathetically). Certain "medications" are legal in horse racing and there was some buzz about whether Brown was the one winning and not the meds, after some review the medication Brown ran on are now illegal in the Kentucky Derby, they said as much in the 09 post race coverage.

  • "The fact is the horse is a "freak". "

Steroids can do that to ya... 8/

  • Do youknw that for a fact? Thye've been testing for a long time... with all due respect; It's easy to acuse, dificult to defend. (Respecfully submitted)

  • Big Brown and Da'Tara both are great horses and I'm very glad that Big Brown won the Derby and Preakness because he's that good. But...I think Belmont day just wasn't his day. :(

    He's still a great racehorse though :-)

  • i cant watch this video

lovin this video!! leave me a comment Bc

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TALK TO ME

im on cam and bored 3e

  • poor big brown :-(

  • The horse is over-rated. Now the other jockeys know how to beat him, so they will try in teh Haskell. I still think the trainer doesn't deserve wins.

  • Along with being very rank, and how the track may have not suite him. The knowledge of a loose shoe is a major factor.

  • i agree with Da Tara's trainer, i thought he was goin to do what he did on the preakness. he sat in third and on the far turn, he came on the outside and took a major lead! when i heard big brown was in third on the far turn on the radio, i knew he was goin to win! but when i heard Da Tara opening up and big brown eased, i couldnt beleive what i was hearing! i was so mad!

  • First of all, I'm not going to blame Kent,he had a really rank horse at the start and he got him to settle down by the time they hit the backside. He was floated a bit wide by Tale of Ekati, but he had him in a good spot,3rd on the outside. As far as the horse,he just simply didn't handle the racing surface. It wasn't the steroids,it wasn't a fix,it was simply he couldn't get ahold of the track. When a horse shows ABSOLUTELY NO KICK,he usually has either bled,he didn't bleed,so guess what?

  • The trainer of Brown said- to the press- that he wasn't using a special steriod in the Belmont that he had used in the previous two races, name that escapes me, that makes him run faster. Brown was overrated- he was an enhanced racer- the others were in it, he obviously wasn't. Without those steriods, Big Brown was just a hope to have another Triple Crown winner. It wasn't the weather either- all the horses had to run in it. But watch Da tara, he looks like a better War Pass.

  • Either the horse was not well, or he was missing his usual steroid shot, or he just didn't have the "heart" to try hard on that day. Who knows? The good news is he'll have to race again (Travers, Breeders Cup) and win decisively or he will never clear his name of the doubts now associated with Dutrow's claim to greatness for Big Brown. He hasn't done anything "great" yet. If getting dirt in his face, and getting bumped put him off, he was never great to begin with.

  • he is a big deal. The fact is the horse is a "freak". To go three races in 5 weeks time-that is a lot to ask of a horse especially when the final race was a mile and 1/2 and it was around 95 degrees yesterday. It was a lot to ask of him and frankly he was just exhausted by the end of it.

  • He just didn't want to. Thoroughbreds can be so temperamental like that. Given the heat, the distance, and getting banged around in the pack, he just said, "eff this." You could tell he wasn't all for it when he threw his head up when Kent tried to push him forward and the rest of the pack slowed down. He wanted to go when Kent wouldn't let him, and yeah. Just a lot of little crap that just added up. Honestly, I think the jock moved too fast to begin with.

  • What went wrong? Dirt in his face, inside post, crazy ride! Why didn't Kent break him out fast? Something's amiss and I think they couldn't handle the pressure. A great horse always beats such lessor competition. Bet names and numbers and throw away the favorites, people!

  • I think the horse was overrated.

  • I don't see what the big deal is with this horse.

  • I don't see why u are a big deal either..
