Love it. How did you do that wheely? And is that realy on slicks? I saw it have tones of grip at one point in a turn without sliding the front wheel came up

@zakreynolds I meant by slicks, the very used original tires that come with the baja, they were almost like slicks on slippery surface. As for the wheely, make it jump from a slighltly higher surface, and on the rebound apply full throttle, that should do :)

@pjwallington Hell yea! They last forever if you take care of em. Just every 5 years you have to rebuild your engine or buy a new one and other small stuff that can brake from bashing ie. a arms, servo etc..

but they are built to last. But never get a clone. There cheap garbage. ONLY GO WITH HPI!!! :)

@FireDogVMX it's personal choice really I dont see much difference between the 2 except one has higher ground clearance with higher body mounting posts too. depending on your Hobby Dealer or where you are looking to buy it from some 5t's come with a 26cc engine and some 5b ss come with 26cc or 30cc I Myself own the 5b Version and i think its great most fun you could ever have, although im looking at getting a 5t, both are great so now it's ur choice on which takes more to your liking goodluck :D

you do know that you can convert your Baja 5t or 5B into a Electric Baja. Even though you can get 30 to 45 minutes out of running it on gas. I bought 12 batteries and ran it all day. The motor runs great It doesn't over heat so I could run all day. Nitro sucks just to let you know. I'm more of a guy who likes running his RC all day and not having it to cool down. I hate having gas leaking out and having to carry gas to the track when electric is lighter to.

I am part of an engineering team that has to build a real Baja car from scratch and we compete against other university teams. You still think the skills is comparable? Not only we have to take care of the baja and maintain it but we also have to build it ourselves and ...

@roelpol ... drive it. I've driven the car for a year previously and trust me it's hard, specially when you're racing. Let me put it this way for you. You have to be an engineer or have special mechanical understanding of the car to maintain and build the real one. You also, have to have some sort of driving skills to drive it, which is a lot more than just having a full car license. But you need no degree to maintain or drive the RC one.

@littlebullet67 Why do people like you feel the need to put other's interests or hobbies down, I have built rally cars from the ground up and raced them and yes it's a totally different set of skills to this (ultimately you run the risk of dying) but in terms of fun/time/cost/accessibility equation this is hands down a better hobby and trust me to get as good as some of the top guys racing these things it is every bit as hard as it is to be good at anything else in life. Nice wheelie dude! The way the front pre-loads and un-loads just as the rear tyres start to gain traction was spot on - wet weather wheelies with a 5B - who'd have thought it! This kind of bashing is pretty tough on clutch bells and spurs though.  Investing in the Turtle Racing Clutch would help soak up the abuse of 'stunt driving'.

@bigplopy gas engines are much less finiky about the carb setting and are generaly just much easier to run.

You may have to tune the carb once a year. They dont require any glow starter and normaly have a longer life span then glow engines. Also gas engines dont require any after run.
