dude at least it wasn't as bad as what happened to me. the asshole that "repaired" my laptop forgot to plug the fan in... and left the heatsink off. this then resulted with the thing frying before my eyes as soon as i got it back and all they were supposed to do was re-solder the power socket on. THAT pissed me off especially when they said they didn't have anything to do with it and refused a refund. but now i look back and lol at it :D

It's an easy fix. The fan needs to be replaced. There are two fans, one left and right. make sure you order the correct side. A few screws later and your good to go and a lot less expensive than 1k. Look at ifixit dot com.

My Macbook was repaired 7 times in under 10 months then replaced. Then that got replaced from the same issue. I'm now on my third MacBook in 15 months. iMac G3 still going strong though! :(

I understand your frustration with Apple repairs. I absolutely love their computers. But they're greedy, and rip-offs. I had to get my HD replaced....thanks for Apple and their faulty HD's in 07, and 08. In a few Macbook models. And they also replaced the cracking inside and out. I got it back. HD is fine! But they didn't put the screen in right, the casing over it, isn't even on correctly, and bulges out. They didn't put the case on the palm area right...it's all open. Shame.

I have a mac and yes it works just fine but I got the old Mac book , and it has a worthless battery that dies in 3 min. So I always have it plug in, no longer "mobile". I will never get another mac computer.

After awhile, of constant use, inappropriate charging, and of course age....obviously the battery isn't going to last long. Maybe take care of the battery of your computers for now own.
