  • How does "Allah choose it [Niqab] for you"?

  • It's sad that women who feel threatened by inapprorpiate behaviour from men ( I assume all men, not just muslim men) that they feel they should adjust their behaviour i,e. they have to hide away, rather than make the men adjust THEIR behaviour. Seems like saying, if you have money and you get robbed, you should make yourself poor so the robber is not tempted. Or if a child is molested, don't have children rather than punish the paedophile. It's back to front.

  • Those who harass believing men and believing women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a grievous sin. O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, your daughters, and the wives of true believers that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): That is most convenient, that they may be distinguished and not be harassed

  • assalamu alaiki wa rahmantuallahi wa barakaatu, i have wore niqab for yeas and years i truly love it, but i'm close to 60 yrs old now i am not at child bearing yrs anymore, it seems like i put my time in when i was younger, good sis at lease your not doing like alot of young sisters wearing niqab doing the day and clubing at night, may allah guide us all, stay stong sis ameen.

  • i agree 100% that it is sisters choice to wear it. If niqab would be compulsory, it would either say in quran or hadith that it is fardh or it would say that not wearing it is haram thus making it fardh, but there is nothing like that and actually quite opposite (case of prayer or hajj)! Conclusion: niqab is a human interpretation from the very begining until now, and with all respect to those who did or do wear it, it is only your choice and not a reason to force or judge others about it.salam

  • i wear niqab and socks. and yes u must wear socks. in surah ahzab allah says everything should be covered except eyes. so nqab is fardh

  • Masha Allah Uhkti for this video. May Allah reward you for your efforts. Surah Al-Ahzab 33:59 tells us how to cover Uhkti. I wear niqab to please Allah Subhana WaTa' Allah no one else.

  • As Salamu Alaikum uhkti i hve listened to this & ive read the comments & im not writing this to bash u or mke u feel less of a muslimah im 17 and i was born & raised muslim i just started wearing niqab abt almost 2 yrs ago over many yrs scholars hve debated if the niqab is wajib or nt I follow the sunnah of the massenger of Allah (saw) & after studying I made the decision tht im gonna wear niqab i wear it for Allah alone & 2 protect maself i dnt worry abt wat old ppl kids non muslim think of it.

  • @Umairah215

I don't think everyone gets the point of this video. If you want to wear it, wear it, but don't force anyone to wear it. End of story.

  • @salamsabee i get the point very well i was jus voicing my opinion from my end of the table, what ever ppl do is between them and Allah whether its wrong or right.

  • @Umairah215

    That's great sister!

  • @salamsabee no need for sarcasim uhkti.

  • @Umairah215

    Sister, Do you.

  • as for scarying kids im sorry sister that is a really petty excuse against the niqab. ok some kids may be scared, but what i see is the parents instilling the fear. i can hear kids saying mum why is she wearing that. rather than the parent saying honey lets go and ask her or lets find out in the library/internet, they usher them away like theyre saving them from some disease? the same kind of stigma is displayed against people with disablities in the streets lets just hush and move our kids away

  • @facelassbeauty

How can you explain something to your child that you don't understand it yourself. There was a niqabi sister who worked at a daycare, and yes, it scared the children at first, but now they love her greatly because they have adapted to it. Most people are too scared to come up to a female that is fully covered and ask why are you covered like that. You are speaking in terms if all humans we're perfect. but we all know that is now how people normally react.

  • @salamsabee

Petty is when you can't seem to understand how strange it is for a woman to walk around with a veil covering her face. It is odd, it's like seeing a clown at the beach. Now, someone like myself would have asked you, but most people will not. They will only try to protect their children. Most people know nothing about Islam, especially why women wear niqab. You seem defensive, but all i was saying was that niqab is not fard, and yes certain sects do preasure their women to wear it.

  • no non muslim has ever asked me why i wear niqab and i live in the uk. the fact is the scholars have different very valid opinions. so if they asked me i would tell them briefly the scholars say it is obligatory, sunnah, or recommended. i wouldnt dwell on the opinions of sects because then we are treading into murky waters. btw sister i think its wrong to say khadija (ra) didnt wear niqab. the muslim women back then covered fully and men only addressed them from behind a veil or room partition.

  • @facelassbeauty

The opinons of most sects when it deals with niqab and other subjects always comes down to what a certain scholar says. I may not agree with your scholars views on niqab or many other subjects. The face veil was not only in the Arab world. Asia,India, and Africa women wore face veils. This is nothing new, but something that has been around forever. The face Veil has been around since preoslamic times. Women didn't wear it for religion, they wore it because of high statues.

  • @salamsabee The face veil was first from Arab cultures. I know this first hand because I am both African and Asian, our culture does not have face covering AT ALL. African traditional clothing is light, almost see-through, sometimes covering hair, exposed arms, and with flashy colours. Also there are African people that don't even cover their breasts, Niqab is an Arab interpertation. ex. Somalia NEVER had the niqab, let along the khamir before the Al' Shabab and the same thing for Afghanistan.

  • @facelassbeauty

Hijab is fard and Niqab mustahab..wich means if you wear niqab you get great sawab from Allah swt, but it is not required, this is why I stay away from certain sects, because they want to bring o what so and so scholra said. So yes, what scholars have to say play a big role in how some muslims view the wearing of niqab. khadija(RA) was deceased by the time the prophet(PBPUH) by the time he made only his wives wear it for their own protection, the screen was used tokeepmodesty

  • there is ijmaa' on the obligation on covering the face in times of fitna. It is a fact that all the Sahabiat wore the full niqab, so what sisters need to do, is to try their best to be like them insha'Allah !! And the saying in the beginning of the video about not to let the husband or father decide wether one should wear the niqab, is totally misguidance because the woman is obliged to obey her father if she is not married, and her husband if she is.

  • @SunnahWayOnlyWay

Niqab is not fard. end of story. You do it for the pleasure of ALLAH(SWT) not because you fear your father and husband. You are not required to wear it, but It depends on what sect you follow.

  • yeah and thats fine. if a muslim women doesnt beleive niqab is a fard thats fine cuz there is a difference of opinion. all im sayin is niqab has its place in islam so if a muslim women wants to wear it masha allah thats a good thing. and we shouldnt be agaisnt it :) take care asalam alaykoum

  • asalam alaykoum. the niqab is mentioned in the quran and sunnah. there is a difference of opinion wether it is fard or sunnah mustahab. allah knows best at the end of the day. but what akes me mad is that so many muslims sisters are agaisnt niqab. its the girl choice if u wanna wear it but if a sister wants to wear it we shuld encourage her not say to her no no dont do it.

  • @zelem92

Many muslims associate the niqab with different sects and also a more stricter form of Islam. Many muslims feel that they don't need to wear it to save themselves from fitna.I pesobally don't care to wear it, but I'm not going to stop anyone from wearing it. I just don't want anyones views being pushed on me.

  • @salamsabee The Quran makes it very clear that we have a choice but having this choice does not give us permission to debate an issue of common sense to "death" to satisfy any weakness we may have. I wear niqab because it feels right. And I need it. I am harassed even with hijab. Men follow me with my husband present! My dentist behaves like a pervert, too. It protects me. Allah knows. A woman of color in America has a sexually debase history given to her! I love you sister.

  • @Fakhriyahnisa

That is what I am trying to say, you should have the option to wear it, it should not forced upon you because someone thinks or believes that is what ALLAH(SWT) is telling women to do. I understand that you felt that you had tow ear it in order to protect yourself, and I respect that. My story is a little different, I wont say I will never wear niqab, but right now it's not for me. I respect you and also love you.

  • That was wonderful to listen to. It´s all about respect, respect for yourself, to help you do what you feel is right, and respect for others to let them breath and make their own decisions. Like you said it´s between you and the higher being.

  • Coming from your fellow Muslim brother personally I did stay away from this topic. I feel Allah gave you the strength to stand on a position that is firm. The most important one being Unity between both the Hajabi and the Niqabi sisters. I will support this point for no matter what the ruling we as Muslims must not elevate ourselves over the other. We must remain cool as the approaching times get more challenging.

  • @blackplight4u

salam brother, hope you are well in health. I was scared when I made this video and my voice was shaking. I have made niqab videos, but I erased all of them , i was scared. I'm not a expert, you can tell by my video, but i just try to understand the basics so I can have something to say. It makes no sense to preasure a woman to cover her entie face just because the prophet made his wives do it. You need to study both sides that claim niqab is or isn't fard and pray about it.

  • I like your points. I love my niqabi sisters, and I love my non-niqabi sisters. Yay for all forms of modesty. I'd also like to say, about the feet issue, that I personally don't like to show my feet because feet are the #1 fetish. So I make sure I cover my feet. Even though I know I can't protect myself against EVERY fetish, I'm still gonna try against this one. :)

  • My sis, I always love what you have to say! And there are so many points I wanted to bring up... but cant remember them all right now. I just wanted to say(for those who want to attack). You do not have the right to make Haraam things into Halaal things, or vice versa. Allah created Islam to be Easy for all of us, depending mainly on our levels of faith. I hate when people call you a Kufar(Disbeliever) just because you dont do what they do. They dont have the right to do that.

  • @BlackWomanDeen Also, It never says specifically in the Quran how to cover. The tafsir given about covering in the Quran is something that is greatly debated. What you have to do is study it, and let Allah choose it for you. Not your husband, Father, Brother, Uncle.... Nobody but Allah! So all these people who think its correct to sit around and backbite non-Niqabis and call them immodest... You're slandering a chaste woman... And its a sin!
