  • I love the freaky cave cause its actually a major plot point

  • Is it just me or does this kinda remind of pac man world 2 ? The music part sounds like the music in the forest levels of pac man world 2...idk is it just me or can anyone else hear it?

  • Ah yes, I remember this well! I was stuck in this hole for what felt like forever, because I wasn't strong enough to beat that friggin' dog! It was one of those times where you set down a game for awhile, and come back every so often until that one time you sit down and beat a tough boss without trying.

  • This would fit 65,000,000 B.C. from Chrono Trigger perfectly.

  • @Chamillionare64 Hey! You're right!

  • Fuzzy Pickles!

  • BWOMP!......BWOMP! DO DOO!

  • ness paula jeff poo ;p

  • This is a pretty peaceful song considering some little kids are being attacked my gigantic dinosaurs

  • @Adowel123 and even drumheller in alberta, canada

  • NiiCe Song ε= its pretty catchy

  • Nice and Prehistoric!

  • I've seen this case a million times, and this is the first time I noticed Ness in the visor.

    *Facepalms*

  • the game is full of crazy ideas

i never played a game like this again

  • @gizarkraut That's why I like it, it is just crazy and fun... ...untill you get to the end...

  • Isn't the Cave of the Past in the Lost Underworld?

That means... Giygas is living down there if you know what I mean. 0_o

  • Paula: Where are we?

Jeff: We must be in the center of the earth.

Ness: Man, I thought the dinosaurs are extinct.

Poo: I'm feeling so... (Poo looks around at the underworld) puny.

  • Wait, why is this picture so much darker than the Coffee Break one?

  • Near the North West of Underworld, there is a weird cave. When you enter it, you hear an odd trumpety song, and also you can see a weird wavy verticle rock formation and something that looks like the crashed transporter. Also the cave consists of rocks suspended in a black void.

    WTF?

  • SPOILER

You end up there after using the transporter, just before you're turned into robots.

  • I... feel... h... a... p... p... y...

  • That'd be "the cave of the Past" in the present.

Actually it's my favorite place, even though it's very tiny, IT'S JUST SO MYSTERIOUS...*Whirr*

  • I think I am the only person in the world to be more creeped out by the song when you first enter the cave than the song when you are sent back in time.

  • ...i think their both scary...

  • lol. You guys in the back of the comment page... The game may or may not be fun because of the whole series is completely different from most RPGs and is really realistic in a lot of ways rather than having a traditional fantasy setting or even a sc-fi setting. In a way, this game is more like Final Fantasy VIII. Realistic setting, yet weird unrealistic stuff goes on at certain times. Anyways, some of the main things to like about the game is the music and sense of love...

  • that's what made me love this one, and ff8 the twist on your own reality ^_^

  • Good! :D

  • Wasn't this entire area supposed to be a movie reference. Journey to the Centre of the Earth to be specific. I mean, this game is full of pop culture references. One NPC calls you Rambo. In Journey to the Centre of the Earth they travel deep into the planet and find a prehistoric era just like in the game.

  • blast the volume up to 11 and feel the nostalgia...hold on I'm not done...ok done. btw i hated to fight all those dinosaurs :>(, but awesome music as always.

  • Finally! A gamer represents one of the most underrated Mother 2 BGMs of all time.

  • ...Erm...I'd leave a comment but...I'm shy...

  • Do you need a book on overcoming shyness?

  • These two comments...just made my day.

And effectively brought waves of nostalgia over me lol

  • 0:09 -

♫ "Ness walks with Paula, Poo and Jeff..." ♫

♫ "Ness walks with Paula, Poo and Jeff..." ♫

  • I couldn't help but laugh at that!

  • You, sir, have just made this song all the better to me.

  • Jeff and Poo would sound better.

  • @DigiTan000

Why not switch the order you have "Jeff" and "Poo" in? Then it's the same order as that of the game.

  • @InvaderZim897

    .

Switch the names? HAVE YOU THE BRAIN WORMS?!!?

  • @DigiTan000

SWITCH THE ADDRESSES ON THESE TWO BOXES!! LET THE REVOLUTION BEGI-

  • @InvaderZim897

    .

Heh heh. Zim and classic Nintendo. What could be better? :P

  • @DigiTan000

Most of the things that could be better would just be that with more things added. Like, "Zim and classic Nintendo in a room full of kittens" :P

  • @DigiTan000

Dammit now I'm singin it xD

  • @DigiTan000 poop.

  • @DigiTan000 Hahaha... I'm never going to be able to un-hear this, now! Hahaha...

  • Yeah, this being one of my all-time favorite RPGs, this game's music really stuck with me because of how unique it was.

  • I like how the cage surrounded them, and they thought they were on the outside of it.

    Silly, optimistic Tendas.

  • The Mother 3 english fan translation has been released today!!!

  • To Mato and his team! Without him, none of this would come to fruition.

I'm still on the fence over whether I should get it or not though.... I'm worried about legal stuff.

    But it looks so good!

  • Get it! The chances of them releasing it over here are very low. Don't deprive yourself of the chance to play a great game because of legalities. A lot of LPer's here on YouTube, me included, play ROMs because it's easier to play a rom on the computer and record it with something like Cam Studio than to go and track down the game legally, then have something like Dazzle to hook up the system to the computer to record it. Trust me.

  • I don't record games...

I'll play it, as soon as I find a way to pay for it some how, whether it is by somehow buying the game from Japanese Nintendo or by buying some merchandise, or phoning Nintendo alot or something..... It just feels too much like stealing if I play it on an emulator without buying it somehow.

  • And I'm playing the game, if only to give the series another chance.

  • I started to play Earthbound this year to figure out what the big deal is and I didn't catch it at first. I think that the game is so subtle that you miss what's great about it if you look too hard.

I haven't beaten it yet, but it's so relaing to play... I'm also excited for Mather 3 this week! YAY!

  • This game looks awesome, I don't know what all you fuckers are whining about...

  • Ego Orb attacked!

  • This has to be one of my favorite games, and I never got that far through it. I need to pick it back up and start over again some day.

  • Mother 2 is one of my favourite games of all time.

  • It's definitely not a game everyone loves because it's very special. It's personally my second favorite game of all time. :P

  • Yea, but I still can't understand why people love it. It wasn't funny, the graphics could be done on TurboGrafx, and the gameplay felt Point A to B-ish. And this is all coming from a guy who's played the genre extensively.

  • It's the trippy atmosphere, dude.

  • It was made with love, and has a lot of deep meanings in it.

    Also, hippies.

  • Deep meanings? Don't remember any. And the love? Love alone does not make a game awesome. If that were true, Lunar: Eternal Blue would be MUCH better than it is (good, but could be better). And the trippy atmosphere can be found in other, equally bad games. Like Claymates.

  • It's a simple matter of opinion. I haven't played the game, so I'm not the best to comment, but from what I've seen and read what makes it so fun is the fact it's a mockery of the genre, it's outrageous plot elements, and the graphics which helped it because it was quirky and not ground breaking.

  • Mockery does not necessarily mean it must suck. Besides, I don't remember much on it parodying other JRPGs. Don't recall half the cast dying off and then Ness pointing that out. No, mention of strippers who can see the future. Don't even remember Not even an octopus who sucked.

  • Actually, the whole Mother series is not JRPGs. It's more DQ based and those are more true blue RPGs than what the market is filled with these days. The Mother series is pure fun and the whole premise is that it is Pop culture in a video game format and a ton of Hippy killing by baseball bats. This my favorite Series of all time.

  • It was the fact that the whole game was silly, childish, and heartwarming. I mean, c'mon, beating up aliens, hippies, and cranky old women with baseball bats, frying pans and yo-yos while chowing down on hamburgers, pizzas and cookies? It also had good music and a decent story (if you know all of it, earthbound zero, etc). It had an originality that RPGs are seriously lacking these days, and are being rightfully criticized for. Itoi needs to grow some balls and make Mother 4.

  • Indeed. But still, Itoi is getting older, and it does take him forever t omake a new scenario for each game. Plus, it's good as a trilogy.

Look at Final Fantasy. By the time the game reached double digits, it became ass. I'm content with 3 Mother games.

  • well the origonal guy who created final fantasy

didn't help in those ones i think,well...I heard

im not very sure.need to research more

  • final fantasy 12 was bad, but i dont recall final fantasy 10 or 11 being "ass". and i heard final fantasy 13 is going to be real good.

  • @mariovssonic64 I played ff13, and I own it. GR8! Good game. But, I didn't get very far, since after I beat the L'Cie (You'll know who that is later) I got YLOD...

  • What is #1?

  • #1? As in my #1 game ever? Hint: not Halo, Ocarina of Time, FF7 or whatever else you may say. It is Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. And it even has some tunes that would definitely make this list. If SupraDarky played more Japan only games.

  • @SupraDarky I don't love this game, but rather like it. I'm just stuck in Onett, and untill I get out, I will probably love it. It's m first time, but I know hat happens in the end, I've seen it so many times. Scares the crap outta me.

  • @Snakemast345 make sure you say NO to the skate punk in the arcade :D

  • @SupraDarky Whats you're Number 1?

  • @SupraDarky Whats your first?

  • @SupraDarky What's your first?

  • @azulichigo It's called "wankin' game" take out your pee pee and wank it.

  • @VGKing YES, U ARE

  • @VGKing Yes.

  • @VGKing No! I'm right there with you man. I don't know why it became so popular.

  • @RayLedgend Actually, it's been a long time since I made that comment, and after replaying it, I've come to like Earthbound. It's not perfect, but it's still pretty cool.

  • @VGKing O_O; And just when I thought I found someone who understood =P

  • @RayLedgend That comment is over two years old. Just wanted to point that out.

  • @VGKing Yeah, I'm aware, but there are a lot of games I hated 2 years ago that I still hate. Usually that's an opinion that lasts a while =P

  • @RayLedgend True, but I gave this game a second chance. Turns out it was pretty good.

  • @VGKing yes

  • @pudimman I'm not even sure how to handle this, because I actually like the game, now.

  • @VGKing Why the hell not

  • @LastActionCowboy Understand that I wrote that comment two years ago, and that I have replayed Earthbound in the time between then and now. Sadly, it wasn't with the cool GBA translation patch or whatever (my timing was shit on that). However, the point is that I like it now.

  • @VGKing

    yup

  • I Love Earthbound music!!
