dude, do you know what? your way of teaching is the best there is for guitar on youtube. Honest. Thanks for uploading this by the way and keep it up man keep doing tutorials pls!
The Kooks tune down their guitar one semitone and then play a Bm shape. Which is the same chord as playing an Am with your Capo on the 1st fret. Therefore, the chords are correct if not played in the same way as the original.
He is also trying to teach beginners and not experts so using ones brain would be useful before posting.
ive been learning from youtube lessons for over a year and you are def one of my fave teachers!! awesome song choices and well thought out lessons!!! keep up the good work man!!
Dont understand why ur using a capo on 1st fret? imo if u wanna learn a song u wanna learn it how Luke is playing it and he doesnt use a capo, its B G E for the verse...
ive been playin for a year and a bit and i just tought myself, obviously the downside to that is you learn chords without the cool fxs. your vids are making the world a better place
Thank you for the amazing video ( is there any way to adjust the song without a capo), Also those negative comments in one ear and out the other people just love being negative. Your a great teacher!!!! I hope to put some requests in to you. Thanksg again. :):) Julietta
That was a very good lesson..... i will be back for more.....
I have a request if you would teach it and that is live forever by oasis..... i know most of the chords im just confused from the chorus to verse change over....many thanks
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ooh la la Son, the first chord is Minor (add4), not only minor. I'm guitar teacher, believe me. But I can understand, when you are beginner, it's not easy to hear those kinds of little colors.
Just tell me : in your hospital, do you have also a TV ?
Another example is people covering Naive. The original song has a complex chord progression with pull offs and the like. Its all good using open chords found on ultimate-guitar but i think to get that awesome sounds the actual chords need to be learnt. Hugh is an excellent guitarist and the music writed for Naive shows that. :-)
How about learning the intro for See The Sun??? Thats fun to play and again has 4 simple chords for the intro.
The proper way to play Ooh La is without a capo. To play it with a capo is easier but does nt sound half as good.
So the chords YOU want are
Bm, G, Em, A.
You should be able to work out the song with that. Any more questions let me know. Sorry i cant concentrate while listening to this video. All im hearing is DOWN, UP, DOWN, DOWN, UP!!
The progression is the same as in this video just with the proper chords. Bm, G, Em. Pre chorus and chorus you play an A aswell.
Listen to the song and you ll hear where the chords are played. There are only 4 at the end of the day. :-) Thats the best way to learn the song. Dont worry about these down, ups etc. No offence to this fella here but you dont wanna confuse things too much. Just listen to the song over and over again and you will get it sorted.
Nice video dude. It's a little late in the evening to start playing, I'll start playing your lesson tomorrow --> keep up posting lessons, they are an inspiration. greetz from Belgium
the strumming pattern is down up down and then you mute the strings really quickly takes a while to pick up just try it out and listen to the song as much as possible.
dude great job on the rhythm/mute/chuck part of the tutorial. I've been really struggling with this and watching your video made everything click. thanks and keep up the good work!
man I consider myself still a beginner, but I just gotta go & buy me a capo tomorrow and I can play one of my favourite songs :) thank you so much, and I bet my friends are gonna thank you too :P (I hope my singing won't be too bad @ the next bbq-party ;) )
Great tutor for this song, i found it easier playing this song in a higher key....kinda gets rid of the need of the kapo. Still, your struming helped me loads dude, thanks !!!
Oohlala...Sorry but absolutely everything on this video is totally wrong... And this is not a question of capo or not capo : it's just that the chords are wrong, and the rythmic too.Whatever, the chords are wrong. Here are the right chords for the verse guys (I'm not using capo):
E--0--2--0--0--2--0--0
B--3--0--0--3--0--0--3
G--4--0--0--4--0--0--4
D--4--0--2--4--0--2--4
A--2--1--2--2--1--2--2
E-----2--0-----2--0---
(this is just chords without rythm, but "up/downs" on the video are totally wrong
sorry buddy but you are wrong. those are definitely not the chords. I've been playing this song for a long time and i've seen it played live. the video is correct
I've seen this song played live 3 times, but that is not the question. I know what i'm saying : the chords used in the video are wrong. Ok, it sounds not too too bad like that but you just have to listen to the song carefully to notice that the first chord - for example - is wrong. mkerrissey just played a minor chord. A minor chord has three notes : Am = A + C + E. But in the song (live or album version), you can hear another note : D. So it is not Am, it is Amadd9. Just one note more...
Notice that the base note of the chords has no importance in what i just said. I mean that there is a "add 9" color in the chord. For the base note, it depends of the version played (live or studio), but you don't need any capo in theses both versions. In live version it is a Bm add9 and in studio version it is a Cm add9.
That's for the first chord. The other chords of the verse are right in the video.
(I will stop here and not mention the wrong rythm used on the video !)
THANK YOU HAHA I'm fench,so first, I try to understand lol but the UPS and DOWNS helped me a lot lol but after that's hard because my hand is too small!!
I laughed a lot, thank you again, I must work now, to play it well...
