How to add a 2nd hard drive to a DELL Inspiron 1720, 7121, Vostro 1700

I recently installed a second HDD in my prisario 1720. However it was not accessible in windows. I went to Disk Management and the drive showed up butt there was no option to format, just to initialize. After initialization I still don't see the option to format. Can you help?

Thanks so much for the tutorial, I didn't even know a second drive could be fitted until I saw this, may seem a strange question, but is the second drive limited to a certain capacity or can any size in gb can be fitted?

Dell inspiron 1720 has no HDMI output.

I have bought that caddy and a hard drive I will try this out pretty soon, I am excited and sick of having only 10-15 gigs free... 1x160 wasn't enough in the end.
