@legoryan9 Yeah. basically on this Kolkata-Dubai sector they have two class config. however due scheduling issues, they were using an A330 with a 3 class config. so First was empty. They let me in there for a bit to get some footage for you guys!
Even though a lot of people may complain about the 2-3-2 layout in Business Class in these A330 along with the A340-300 for Emirates, it's pretty sufficient for the shorter routes or the secondary markets such as Athens or Dakar. Was the First Class section closed for reservations?
Haha, I got isle seats 3 times when i was like 5-8yrs old, but then i said NO WAY, and now I request that they reserve me window seats during time of booking the ticket and it works! only that once I was on a 777 (last year) and the window was all the way infront and i had to lean forward to see outside
Fabulous Trip Report! I have been dying to try Emirates, and I will in June. Any Heads up about the EK business product?
It was interesting as you noted that the range of a fully loaded is somewhere around 8340 nmi, as per airbus' website they state that the range is 7250. Wouldn't jet airways operate the JFK-india serveices nonstop then on the a330-200
@NICKARMAS thanks and glad you enjoyed this video. All the facts on my videos are from well reputed sites and I found that fact - 8340 nmi range - quite stunning to be honest. But, its a tribute to this awesome and sometimes under appreciated aircraft.
@seatgurus WHy thank you for the great insight on that range. That really is ashtonishing. The A330 is one of my personal favorites, I have flown the type many times with Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific. This time I really wanted to try the EK Product out of SFO, and I hope I enjoy it as much As QR
@NICKARMAS Also, do you remember the AF447 flight that crashed? It was an A330 and was on a 12 hour flight...just saying. These planes can fly ultra long distances.
@Ahuntsicspotter BA is great for quick connection times...Emirates is great for inflight service. BA has older planes (which I like, i like flying the 767s and 747s) Emirates has brand new planes. Emirates has very boring crowd..BA has a nice mixture of passengers. Chances of you sitting next to a hot woman is zero on Emirates...odds are higher on BA. Emirates crew is young and caring...BA crew is older an old school. BA had a bad reputation with baggage not so for Emirates. Cheers!
@seatgurus i think the information subtitles made the video wonderful and the video was very good! great filming my friend. hope to see more videos like this from you.. :D
@funnorthwestboy it was really cold in calcutta this winter...it was a combination of fog and certain amount of smog. the air pollution in calcutta has decreased a lot in the past few winter
@stef7mla Thanks! Actually EK does fly A330-330ERs and this was on on of them.. You are correct in the sense, they dont fly these 330ER 3 configs to CCU/Calcutta but it was one of those days when they did.

Emirates started service from Rio de Janeiro (GIG) to Buenos Aires (EZE). Nice way to fly First Class (Suites) or Business for a much lower fare...

First class on A330 looks like Business on the B777-ER...

These are Rolls-Royce Trent 772s BTW, not GE or PW. PW is damn loud and GE is moderate, but RR is the best!

Airport that you pass on approach to Dubai is probably Sharjah - followed by a left hand 180 over the gulf to return and land on 12L.
rascottdotcom 10 months ago
@rascottdotcom Yea i believe it is Sharjah. If not Sharjah, its Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is about an hour away from DXB while sharjah is a few mins

You flew with Emirates and British Airways. I would like to know who is the best between British Airways and Emirates?
