Amsterdam has a redlight district but you'll never see locals there. It's mainly for tourists. Calling the entire city of Amsterdam immoral for that would be unfair.
If you knew anything about the rich tradition of New Orleans you wouldn't be so ignorant.
I'm sorry but this video is very ignorant. Mardi gras has nothing to do with flashing one's breasts, that was added later by mostly tourists. This is entirely onesided and they found the most drunk ignorant people on the street for this video as they could.
I like how the chinese think it's mental and shocking just for drinking in the street and people exposing themselves... Americans dont know what mental is. Visit Magaluf(spain) or Malia(Crete) in June/July/August when brittish teens are on holiday there and you will see what the word crazy really means.
China produce more QUALITY PRODUCTS than JUNK. The reason why you get JUNK made in China all the time is, your JUNK retailers like WALMART pay the Chinese factories shit to produce shit for you, because they treat you like a shit. Iphone and Macbook Pro are made in China too, you JUNK.
I wish I coudl find this doc in the blockbuster here, but since I live in Mexico...
It's very sad how people seem to have taken this documetary. It's not about boycotting "Made-In-China" stuff, it's about realizing that we buy too much stuff from ANYWHERE and just throw it away. It's consumerism at it's max. Want to throw beads to see hooters? Use old children's necklaces that you might have laying around, ask for beads to your neighbours, etc. continue
@akissy continue. If people are shameless enough to throw beads to girls (many underaged) so they can see their bodies, then they sure as hell could be shameless enough to ask for used and old beads. Or recycle the past Mardi Gras ones. There's a ton of ways of stopping consumerism, which is guilty of these poor girls having to live in almost inhuman (if not totally inhuman) conditions.
This video should me you feel bad...america is so fucked up. show your shit for some beads a poor lady made working for 10 cent and hour. And we throw them away with no thought.
Wake up people stop being so close-minded and wasteful!!!
For those interested, I think you might also enjoy "Trinkets and Beads", "Manufacturing Consent", and "War Made Easy". Though the first two are a bit older, they still make your jaw drop.
There is a guy on youtube advertising to American companies to move their manufacturing companies to China, or he can provide them a slave shop at I'm sure a fee of some sorts! Truly pathetic how America is relying on these poor people for everything. The corporate idiots wanting cheap labor and max profits are the ones responsible! Wal*mart was truly the end of small American manufacturing companies.I boycott them as well as all Chinese goods.I wish every American would.
Although it is sad that America has to rely on cheap labor and how Walmart and things from china are the end of small buisnesses not every american can afford to buy expensive things nowadays. With the recession if you are poor or even middle class Wal-mart is somewhat of a godsend because it makes living affordable. ALthough i wish american jobs didn't have to suffer to make things cheaper...
sure I feel bad, but what this video is trying to do....well...is make me feel bad enough to stop buying ceaop things made in China. SOething I simply cannot and WILL not do.
If you feel bad, perhaps that is your Conscience?I didn't take it that way.I believe their aim is to increase awareness&discussion.I hope you'll watch the longer video response,or buy the documentary.
The goal is discussion and information yes. But I think also the ultimate goal is to dissuade others from the desire to simply buy the beads without caring...
it's definitely informative but the creator chose to talk about beads because of the interesting way that Americans uses Chinese made products. It's not to stop buying things, you shouldn't feel guilty because this shows how each country are set up. and it is the system which seems unfair. if we one day did not buy anything made in china, china can not progress in capitalism. But for low prices at wal-mart, it has to have its cost.
"I think also the ultimate goal is to dissuade others from the desire to simply buy the beads without caring..."``I meant stopping others to top being "greedy" consumers....meaning ill informed consmers. I am not quite sure that is not what they re doing. It certainly though is a video I want to watch...and I made it clear it does not and should not make me feel bad :)
@Yuri92001 If you watch the documentary, what the workers themselves actually say is simply that "we don't want people to stop buying beads" then they wouldn't have jobs. But what they do want is to be treated like human beings.
@mbdelorenzo Wow....this comment was so long ago I dont' remember making it ^__^ Interesting how my opinions have evolved in 2 years. I know what you mean yeah.

I just watched this doc on television and it made me sick.
American excess, and the hedonistic Mardi Gras type bullshit, is all too much.
watch the documentary, and really see what you're "supporting" when you go to mardi gras and buy that bead shit.
a fat cat somewhere whose trying to sink the whole ship for everyone, everywhere.

will China be still making cheap shit to export 10-20 years from now? That's the Real question.
mrzack888 3 years ago
not likely. It takes two side, both America and China, to do that.
