  • Thanks very useful

  • so...which one's your favorite?

  • great buying help David. Thanks for putting this up. But my desire for a Schlagwerk La Peru has been manifesting now.

  • so depending on where he hits the box it makes a different drum sound?

  • The last ONE!!!! its awesome

  • I really hate the rattle sound of the cajon =.=

  • 2:20 the black one sound realy nice almost like a tom tom when he used hes foot

  • this is exactly the video i was looking for! thanks for making this. :) i'm sick of these cajon review videos with people just talking. let me hear it and make up my own mind.

now just to watch your video another 859879 times and narrow down to my top 2 :)

  • The mic should always be set at the whole in the back of the Cajon!

  • I'm surprised the Meinl faired so well, at least in this recording. I've been wanting to move into Cajon territory (I'm a Djembe player) but haven't yet because of money. Maybe I should pull the trigger on a 100-150$ Meinl.

  • ty woe to je super věcička

  • whats the first cajon's name... is it a good one? .. yus yus i am a noob ^w^

  • bravooooooo but you gare have the name of all the cajons

  • Whats the one called at 1:00?

  • Which cajon is the one at 7:00? Thanks!

  • @garsk96 thats a PRK cajon, they retail at about £385...I want one so bad!!

  • boyceavenue

  • Wow~ every carjon's different sound!

  • the one at 3:19 is the same one that Nick from Karmin plays xD

  • @pooontoast12345 xD I came here after I watched, Take it away! :D

  • @pooontoast12345 I don't think Nick from Karmin used this PickUp Cajon...I think he used the Strings one

  • WHAT ONE IS YOUR FAVOURITE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What type of Cajon Box would you reccomend? Do they all have the same sound or is there a difference between them?

  • When buying a percusion box or Cajon what type would you reccomend getting im just startin to play the Cajon but what would you reccomend?

  • You've got to try the Roselynn Percussion cajon.

  • hey david, i was thinking of buying one because i think they're pretty cool. What would you recommend as a beginner cajon?

  • what is the basic cajon?

  • hey david, don't own one of these but you play it great. love the footwork!

  • the video is cool and all but i wish before every time they showed a new cajon they said the name of it.

  • great job, thank you.

  • Damn I love the "DG De Gregorio" They both sound great!

  • all this work and you don't even list the models while playing them. Kind of a bonehead mistake for a cool idea and video.

  • @TruckAssure Maybe if you took the time to actually look in the video's description, you would notice a link to the site where all of the cajon's have a model and name.

  • What am I gonna click back and forth like a lab rat looking for a food pellet? it should be on the screen while it is being played. It is common sense and If you don't agree you are wrong.

  • @TheeEhTeam It's too much to do. They should be listed on the screen while they are being played. It's common sense.

  • @TheeEhTeam but how do people know which is which? We have to cross reference with a website? Just put the names up as you play each one and don't argue with me. You know I am right.

  • Nice vid, just wondering about technique: To vary the sound do you push in with your foot or just run it down the surface of the cajon?

  • It's a Sela Masterpiece. For a full list of cajons check my website (link in the video description)

  • The cajon at 6:17, whats the name and model of it? P.s love your playing!

  • What model is the meinl cajon?

  • So what mic setup are you using on this video? Its difficult to see what you're using in front, and are you using either an internal or a port mic as well? Great video, and very informative.

  • @bombadillo101 im guessing he has two shotgun mics. one in the back for bass and one in the front for the highs and mids as well as his hand slaps

  • nice video, just wondering, what kind of cajon is the one you're playing at 7:00 sounds really good! :)

  • @Guitar785 PRK Castigador

  • I love these cajons! Im thinking of building one by my own. Do anyone got any instructures or scteches on building a cajon?

  • The list of models is on framedrums net in the articles section.

It seems that I can't post the exact link here.

  • There are so many ! What is the one at 4:29 min? Thanks. Nice playing. Thanks for the demo. What do you think of MP ones? I did not see a demo.. Thanks

  • Great vid, but a list of the model names is missing

  • ziehmlich hektisch^^

  • dog' s percussion at 8:09 and all the popercussions where the best imo

  • Hi David.

    Super show your giving there!

Can you please tell me what type of Cajon you used on film strip 06:01? That sound is soooo good! I can't get enough of that one!

    Thanks in advance!

  • @Gl0balxs

Do you mean the Schlagwerk La Peru, it isn't that good ;)

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for that !

  • espectacular....

  • What cajon is it on 7:01?

  • @yuvalrozin

    It's the PRK Castigador.

  • Very nice comparison from a real master-drummer. Models with photos you find on his page. But be aware. The same Model can have a quite different sound, not only the pitch, which i think always differs. I made already three mispurchases out of four, because i didn´t bought the same cajon that i checked out before. One of it is in this video.

  • whats the ones at 4:30, 5:30, 6:00, 7:50?

  • @thesuperjman the one at 4:30 is an original peruvian cajon the sound is very different only for music traditional afroperuvian

  • Thanks for demonstrating how incredibly different each cajon is.....it is such an individual selection...

  • I'm a drummer and i'm looking to buy my first cajon, don't really know anything about them. Can someone tell me what you call the ones at any of these times..2:46, 3:07, 3:48, 6.08, 8:09,9:00. I'd really appreciate it! thanks!

  • You've done a GREAT service to all percussionists who are looking for a good sound-comparison. Thank you so much, David!

  • Thanks David, if you had to buy a cajon which would you choose.

  • thanks very much, really helps

  • can you tell me , the valter cajon is the bigbox? sound great. thanks

  • @Aquilarc yes, the valter Cajon is the bigbox.

  • anyone any idea what model the Sela cajon is??

  • @egged0 It's a masterpiece model.

  • @DavidKuckhermann Thanks David, much appreciated

  • great video and useful for comparing various cajon

    I have a pepito cajon

    are very good compliments

  • david always great !!!

  • Very cool. Do you own all those, David?

  • Really nice. And what are David's thoughts? The best one in terms of bass-snare separation? I don't like when there is a snare sound in bass. When the separation is good snare is ussualy too dry and short in many models :/

  • @milosjanata Yeah, agreed. I too like the ones with better separation between the bass and snare sounds. I also like the ones where there's no snare too.

  • Thanks!

  • Awesome...and generous!!

  • cooooool!!!!

  • Ole!

  • The best comparison on th web! Thanks.
