  • Jimmy Stewart was 22 years older than Grace Kelly.

  • some people that have had nosy neighbors, hope raymond burr wins,

  • I've seen this movie and I liked it

  • Better than Disturbia ANY DAY!

  • I think he's kinda mocking hollywood with his portrayal of women here. hitchcock is an absolute genius

  • And to think Frank Cady (Green Acres, Petticoat Junction) is still living.

  • Ross Bagdasarian would go on to do something even more famous...Alvin & The Chipmunks!

  • 100% AWESOME...!!! James Stewart is an extrodanairy actor, and let us not forget the lovely, the talent, the beautiful...Grace Kelly...etc...!!!

  • oNe Of My FaVs FRoM tHiS mAsTeR oF sUsPEnSe....I LoVe It!

  • Does anybody know if there is an original trailer for this? Clearly this is not from 1954 because it references Psycho which didn't come out until 1960. I'm doing a project on it for class and was just wondering if there ever was a trailer released in 1954.

  • @ModOrRocker Hi, Yes Is This The Original. It Was Made For Theater Previews. I Hope That Helped. Cordialy.

  • @TheMutantX109 It doesn't answer the question of the references to Psucho a film that came out six years later. This is obviously a trailer for a re-release of the film in the early 60's.

  • @76i86989789 Slow? I first saw Rear Window at home on VHS and it had perfect pace, suspense and tension. Dusturbia was made for the attention-deficit disorder crowd who can actually watch a movie with Shia LaBeouf without going crazy and wanting to strangle him.

  • A genius or insane?

  • Okay, Alfred Hitchcock is genius. I know! But Disturbia is a great film and adaption of rear window. People who say its better have the right to as it's a new modern film. Of course most people these days won't appreciate Hitchcock for what he made. It's just how things go.

  • how can anyone think disturbia is better?!

the girl next door is obviously better :p

  • im watching a version of the intro of the actual film(remastered version?), and the shot that starts at 0:38 in this video is different, it has a bird flying at a different time. but the weird thing is in the window at the top, second in from the edge of building there is a weird lightening flash in the room... anyone know what this is and if its deliberate?

  • @kingofgrace the flash is not in this version, but for this version it would have been at 0:41

  • @Brady2k10 Go ahead, hun. Go back to your pot-smoking and being yet another modern-age dumbfuck. Go ahead...I'll laugh while you sit there, passed out on your couch, high, ignorant, stupid, and illiterate, while us smart people continue to have culture. Go ahead...I'll start laughing now...

  • Was this a 1960's re-release? Because the trailer mentioned Psycho which wasn't released until 1960.

  • @ArtemisFlyingV

Yeah, check out @2:26, Paramount re-release, in like 1968 i think. They also re-released it in 83 and 2000.

  • @tPACoO Judging by the trailer's quality I'm going to say this was the 68 re-release.

  • @ArtemisFlyingV i'd have to agree

  • I took my 11-year old sister to see this movie at an old classic movie theater and she absolutely loved it! It was perfect for her. Not too scary with the right amount of suspense and humor to entertain her. I'm hoping she develops a love for these classic films.

  • Raymond burr belongs in the wheelchair

  • What kind of idiot would think this movie copied something that came out 4 years ago?

Quick, find those people and put corks on all their forks before they put someone's eye out.

  • Rear Window came out in 1954. Psycho came out 6 years later.

  • Haha old trailers are hilarious

  • Didn´t this movie come out before Psycho?

  • @animorphsvfd this trailer was most likely made for a DVD release of the movie.

  • Does anyone have the real original theatrical trailer for Rear Window?

  • Il est trop bien ce film!!!

  • rear bullshit more like with this old stone age crap hahaha

  • Rear Window is without a doubt Alfred Hitchcock's best movie ever made

  • lol, who even watches these film trailers and DOESN'T know this film was produce more than half a century ago? What even.

  • @76i86989789 Im sorry, I completely disagree. It isn't 'too slow' isa suspensful masterpiece.

  • I can't believe people think Disturbia is a better film - if you struggle to appreciate Alfred Hitchcock, you have no business watching films. It's sad. I belong to a moronic generation.

  • @jazz4

    I completely agree!

  • @jazz4 AGREED!!

  • This one is my favorite. And I did see Disturbia.

  • disturbia is still better

  • AWESOME MOVIE!!!!

  • i suppose, Hitchcock liked to visualize the language mathaphers

is there an expression "a burried dog" in English?

  • How is this the 1954 trailer if it clearly states at 2:30 "if your nerves can stand it after 'PSYCHO'" which came out in 1960?! I know the film came out in 1954 but this trailer is obviously for a re-release of the film?...

  • @CAK11891 oh yeah I noticed that too....interesting.....

  • @CAK11891 The film was part of the "Famous Five" of Hitchcock films that were "lost" from Hollywood. He had re-released it after the success of Psycho, repurchased the rights and left it to his daughter, and then it wasn't released for viewing anywhere until 1984. The reason why we see this trailer instead of the actual 1954 is because all early advertisement had either been vaulted or lost when Hitchcock had taken control of the rights. Hopefully this answers your question. =0)

  • @sepctr11 which are the other 4?

  • @flaminia5 Sorry for the delayed response. The additional "lost" titles were the other three Stewart films and The Trouble with Harry.

  • @sepctr11 thank you for delay! and for answer!

  • To me, L.B. "Jeff" Jeffries (Rear Window, 1954) and John "Scottie" Ferguson (Vertigo, 1958) are close cousins in characters, because their obsessions and curiosities get the better of them, and almost get them killed. They both also have their own confinements, in which Jeffries is confined to the ground by a wheelchair because of a broken leg, and Ferguson is confined to the ground because of his fear of heights. Stewart portrays both characters FLAWLESSLY.

  • OK, Rear Window was based of of a short story in 1942 called "It had to be Murder", and also, Hitchcock made a movie called "Rope" which was not a hit when it came out, so to make up for Rope Hitchcock wanted to make Rear Window with the James Stewart, who was the star of Rope, Rope and Rear Window both took place in one apartment as well, and yes Rear Window came WAY before disturbia, and disturbia copied Rear Window.

  • intresting

  • whats the thing even about?

  • i dont get it rear window came out in 1954 but pyscho didnt come out until 1960 how is that possible?

  • @rockchuck99 The director made rear window before he made psycho. It's not that hard to understand.

  • @rockchuck99 Makes no sense. Maybe a re-release trailer?

  • Do comment people know about sarcasm and stuff? How dumb can you be to not catch that guy kidding? *epic fp*

  • disturbia was a remake of this movie guys :O

  • I've seen this movie several times and it's just as suspenseful every time.

  • Haha, we just watched this in one of my classes at school. I like Psycho better, though. Now we're watching the remake.. which is so far completely different then this.

  • hitchcock copied distubia?! BWHAHAHA! did they not see the date. or have any knowledge of cinema

  • @vampireravefan lol exactly...

  • Dear god I'm sorry, HOW could someone think ALFRED HITCHCOCK copied Disturbia??

  • @righteousgroove Time travel, obviously.

  • @aluisious Well yeah, there's that. :D

  • @righteousgroove never underestimate stupidity

  • @righteousgroove REALLY ppl think ?that doesn't make sense this came out way before disturbia ...

  • Jimmy Stewart was one of the greatest actors ever

  • one of the best directed movies ever !!!

  • there is idiot in this world

  • This is my favorite Hitchcock movie by far and it was 1954. I had not seen this trailer before though , interesting. Great casting Mr Hitchcock.

  • @thewerepuppygrr Cool:)

  • This is the first Hitchcock movie I've seen that I could get into!

  • Reminds me of that simpsons episode where Bart is bedridden after breaking his leg or something for the summer from the pool lol

  • @ViperRob42 lol yeah that was a homage to Rear Window. :)

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ Are you f-cking kidding? Rear Window was released in 1954. I saw this numerous times before Disturbia came out in the 21st century. I think you're just trying to get a rise out of people because no one can be that blatantly stupid, or you're the dumbest youth on youtube. Alfred Hitchcock directed this, along with many others including Psycho in 1960.

  • Can someone please give tAiOcRuZ99 an golden awareness award for pointing out that the movie 'Rear Window' was made before 'Disturbia' so he can shut the fcuk up!

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ I'm a girl. And I am so, so sorry I took up so much of your precise time.

  • I want a golden awareness award by the way I'm 12 years old HA BEAT BY A 12 YEAR OLD I FEEL SPECIAL!

  • oh yeah and before I didn't mean precise i meant umm something else I don't remember.. I lost my train of thought I hate that

  • @hsm102103 Unfortunately that's the problem. A lot of poeple don't.

  • I think Disturbia came first and this came second, still no hard evidence to prove otherwise.

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ There is a lot of hard evidence, and if you're going to be that stupid stop posting comments. I mean really

  • @tAiOcRuZ99

Your comment is totally unsubstantiated. You have no facts. This movie ripped off Disturbia, I never even heard of this "Rear Window" movie till today, it's so obvious. I bet you also think that the movie 'Dances With Wolves' didn't totally and completely rip off the movie 'Avatar'. You must live in a little world you call the "Imagination land" with Snarf & the Lollipop King. Idiot.

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ troll mctrolling

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ I don't know what dancing with wolves is.. I DO LIVE IN IMAGINATION LAND IT'S FILLED WITH PRETTY COLORS AND UNICORNS:) Who's snarf? He sounds weird. Well I'm confused so I'm going to go to imagination land gtg!

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ wow

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ Just because you didnt know about it until today, didnt mean it didnt exist until today.Disturbia is made in 2007. This is from 1954. Unless Alfred Hitchcock went to the future, watched Disturbia, came back to 1954, destroyed the time machine, and made this, I think you're wrong.

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ Oh my God, I love you XD

  • This is NOT a take on Disturbia. Rear Window was made in the 50's. All the actors in this film are from the old days of cinema. Jimmy Stewart for example, was a very famous, respected and beloved actors in those days. Grace Kelly was (and still is) considered to be on the most beautiful women to ever be seen on film. And Alfred Hitchcock was one of the most creative and original directors EVER to be born.

  • How do you know this movie came out before Disturbia? I'm pretty sure Disturbia was released in 2007. I'm not convinced. This movie looks like a blatant rip off if you ask me, it's a shame you don't get originality any more.

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ I know this came out before because my aunt. mom, and dad saw it in the 70's. Disturbia came out in 2007. Get it right. Some people are so stupid..

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ how dumb are you? the fact that this movie was made in 1954 and disturbia made in 2007 suggest to me that you know absolutely nothing about film and obviously did no research before making such an idiotic comment.

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ you're funny. i do it too sometimes. post idiotic comments to see what reactions i'll get

  • @SNAKE187EYEZ Um, this film came out 53 years before Disturbia was made... Clearly it wasn't a rip-off, or Alfred Hitchcock would have had to be an extraordinarily powerful psychic, saying "oh my goodness, someone over half a century in the future is going to make a moderately successful thriller about viewing murders through a window I MUST COPY IT." Highly unlikely.

  • I don't get it, the man says this film is from Alfred Hitchcock who shocked the world with Psycho. Didn't Psycho come after this film? I'm pretty sure Rear Window came out in 1954 and Psycho came out in 1960, so how could he say that if the film wasn't to be out for another 6 years?

  • @Gaznugget It's a re-release trailer :)

  • @FORD5000solo2001

    Oh...

     :)

  • @Gaznugget I think this was in 1964, not 54. I THINK.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99

No sorry it is 1954 I just looked it up. I think it was a re release that's why.

  • Has anyone who says this is copying disturbia noticed that this came out in 1954 and disturbia came out in 2007? just putting it out there

  • Thanks for the upload to this trailer. I LOVE this movie!!! James Stewart and Grace Kelly have amazing chemistry and Hitchcock is simply the master of suspense.

  • I think that most of the times old films are overrated, because humans tend to glorify the past, but this one is really a good picture, surely one of the best ever.

  • @mrszefron14 I actually don't remember the name, sorry.

  • GUYS! This did not rip off disturbia! This movie came out way before disturbia, and it slightly copied one of agatha christi's books. And if anything, Disturbia copied this!!! It was out way before disturbia!

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 which agatha christie book?

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Disturbia is a remake off this? anyone would know that if they had a brain

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 i know. those people who say otherwise are just trolls. fuck them.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 you are totally correct!

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Actually it's nothing to do with Agatha Christi either. It's based on a short story called 'It Had To Be Murder' by Cornell Woolrich. Just sayin'.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Disturbia was based on rear window.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99

What Christie-book? I would really like to read it.

  • @tobakrip REAR WINDOW is based on a short story by Cornell Woolrich called "It Had to Be Murder." Agatha Christie has nothing to do with it.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Yeah, Disturbia (2007) was a very entertaining film, but there are so many plot holes in it. Maybe DJ Caruso might not have been the best director.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 anyone who says otherwise is just trollin' for comments.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Disturbia was an homage to Rear Window. It's not mentioned in public trailers due to copyright.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 Wait people actually think this? :/

  • @JuanMacready says the fat neckbeard on the internet. el flaggo'd for el spamo!

  • @JuanMacready dude..... just shut up. he did a goo job with the role, and was one of the most natural actors who ever lived. i know its your opinion, but youre pissing a lot of people off

  • @89blockbuster1 He had a stupid voice as well.

  • @JuanMacready shunned

  • thia is the same plot line as disterbia

  • @misocute16 Yeh man, Rear Window fucking ripped off Disturbia, what's Hollywood coming too.

  • @cosinewavee Yeah, that makes sense. This came out in 1954 and Disturbia came out in 2007. And Rear Window ripped off disturbia? that makes a lot of sense, buddy.

  • @misocute16 No, no. Disturbia as a similar plot line to Rear Window.

  • @misocute16 Yeah, and this came out... hmm, let's see, 53 years before Disturbia. Shia LaBeuouf's PARENTS probably weren't even born yet.

  • This trailer manages to knock the movie down a few notches. At the end it actually tells the viewer to watch the movie starting from the beginning.

  • one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze. one. two. freeze.

  • I think rear window was ok, i prefer psycho!

  • @CutandPrintFilms yeah psycho is the best hitchcock film in my opinian

  • @abc12319525 Yeah, what could beat the shower scene?!

  • @CutandPrintFilms nothing from any movie i know

  • My favouirte Hitchcock movie, so simple and quiet. Psycho, Frenzy, Dial M for murder and the birds are the best suspense ever.

  • A genius... or insane?

  • @UnusualTastes An insane genius.

  • awsome movie james stewart was great in all hitchcock movies i have 7 hitchcock and 4 of those 7 james stewart is in them

  • wow is this really the trailer.

  • is thos movie worth 2 buy?

  • @matthewinnj08 YEs it is. It's alfred hitchcock man :D

  • I LOVE this movie and would love a window view like this!. I am yet to watch Rear Window which Christopher Reeve star in.

  • The actor speaking in character in the trailer is something i wish would carry over to now, but of course thats not the case :(

  • Rear Window is one of the best suspense movies ever done. Hitchcock's style of seeing the action is exquisite, and the movie is all the more better. Because of the fact that Jeffries is obsessed with the idea of his strange neighbor, he ends up being saved by the policemen downstairs when the killer pushes him off the edge. A wonderful movie, psychological and in the same time very tensionate, that deserves more than one view.

  • "And see it from the beginning of course!"

Um, yeah...duh. Who would watch it from the middle?

  • @VirtualBoy500 Once upon a time it was standard to be seated in the middle of a movie, and then if you liked it, to stick around until you got to the part where you came in - that's where the expression "This is where I came in" comes from. Most theatres only charged you a single ticket fee for the day, especially if a double-feature was playing.

  • Going to be seeing this one tomorrow at a matinee. It's been about 20 years since I've seen it widescreen, so this is going to be fun. I love the way Hitch would customarily break the 4th wall in his trailers.

  • @PapaJoeJoeMambo Hey, when you say "break the 4th wall," do you mean showing the cameras and equipment?" just curious.

  • @comicstripheroine "Breaking the 4th Wall" means that the character who is involved in a scene suddenly stops what they're doing and addresses the viewer directly as if the viewer were in teh room with them. Scotty does this when he invites you to see the movie.

  • @PapaJoeJoeMambo Oh, thanks! I was really off.

  • Wasn't Psycho made after this movie? 1960?

  • @thetevinator Yeah, 6 years.

  • @cholocharile Oh, must have been a re-release trailer.

  • Comment removed

  • @thetevinator Yup it was

  • @mikeman9412 Cool, thanks a lot.

  • Very entertaining movie. This trailer simply doesn't do it justice.

  • Awesome Movie, A lot better than the trailer makes it look, one of Hitchcock's best, love it. :)

  • what's it about?

  • I haven't seen it but in other trailers it says he is looking out of his window and sees weird behavior from one neighbor and is convinced he killed someone. I want to see it so bad psycho is one of my favorite movies and this is suppose to be better. I am going to order from the internet.

  • @Kylenater2 go on ov-guide

  • @xxsrs2xx his legs broken and he witnesses a murder in the back, but he cant do anything cos no one belived him and hes in a wheelchair, but someone happens at the end, which would spoil if i told u, just watch it, its ranked 5th best film ever.
