hey everyone!

im looking at buying an SLR. The only problem is i can't decide which one to get. at the moment its between the 40D and the 500D. the 500 has more megapixals and HiDef video. but the 40D is more solid and has faster FPS.

40D,I was having the same issue but 40D is cheaper and sometimes produces less noise on higher iso than the 50D. You're not going to need the extra 5MP unless your are going to be enlarging your image A LOT.

how does one make the grid appear on the live view?

Must press the "menu" button and there look for "live view options" or something named like that.

From there you can't go wrong :]
