my personal favorite ending, and probably the least common ending too. virtually all renegades kill the council, and that's one of the main reasons why people play as a renegade anyway. many a paragon also reached his/her boiling point and just left the council to die.

For a Paragon Shep, saving the Council makes sense. You've spent the whole game nattering about showing the aliens that humanity plays well with others. Saving the Council shows you mean it.

*SEMI-SPOILER* A number of characters in ME2 will react to you differently depending on whether or not you saved the Council. Mostly aliens. Conversation option and opportunities for charm can be altered.
