In overruling, the Supreme Court explicitly held that the standard should be changed. Sotomayor and the other Republican judges didn't have that option.

Sotomayor, along with a majority of Republican-appointed judges, upheld that the STATE had the right to do that. They didn't say it was a good idea, and they certainly didn't mandate it.
The Supremes overturned by rejecting the STATE'S standards. If she did that, that would have been judicial activism. She applied the law.

While I do not know about La Raza(I am still reading their press releases), I am pretty sure about Nation of Islam. Violence is quite often integral part of racism but not a requirement, in many cases it is a result. Equal oppurtunity is great, just don't force it on a small or private business. If I have a business and I don't want to hire someone, I shouldn't have to. He said the stimulus package would have an immediate affect on the economy and now he's back peddling and saying it could take up to 2 years to work. But "take over?" You mean you expect the Congress to be majority Republican in 2010?
Let's see, that would be a gain of 9 seats in the Senate and 40 seats in the House by a party that currently enjoys a 40% disapproval rating by their OWN MEMBERS.

Where did she say that? Not Ricci, where she, contrary to popular wingnut myth, did NOT NOT NOT rule that the test was biased.
What she ruled, along with several other Republican-appointed judges, is that the city was within its rights, according to state law, to throw out the test.
She did not order the test thrown out, the city did.
In overruling, the Supreme Court explicitly held that the standard should be changed. Sotomayor and the other Republican judges didn't have that option.

My beliefs are adequately supported by the evidence, so it doesn't matter to me what people think about them. Only people who have weak, unsupported beliefs fall back on wanting "respect" for them, because they otherwise have no leg to stand on.

It was the STATE that decided to throw out the test.
Sotomayor, along with a majority of Republican-appointed judges, upheld that the STATE had the right to do that. They didn't say it was a good idea, and they certainly didn't mandate it.
The Supremes overturned by rejecting the STATE'S standards. If she did that, that would have been judicial activism. She applied the law.

He promised that the Obamulus that was rushed through before anyone read it would stop unemployment at 8.5% (WHOOPS), and he continues to pursue economy killing policies that will drive unemployment damn near 20-25%. Keep in mind, REAL unemployment right now is close to 16%.

I was a Govt. worker for 9 years. When a new clerk came to wrk in our dept. she was black, very mean 1st day she started and used to sleep at her desk everyday, 2 x per day or more. I worked all day nvr slept. she was a bully and go away with evrythng she could. After 6 yrs putting up with it I could not take the bullying, so I quit. Bullying needs to be a Felony!

Obama was elected by a clear majority. Obama is, according to conservatives, a communist. Therefore, the majority of the country supports a communist president.
