It should be, but with semi-auto only, if the gearbox locks, there would be no way to unlock it aside from taking apart the entire box. With full auto you can fire a couple bursts to unlock it. That is why they kept it full auto
the gearbox has a hole to release the anti-reversal latch in some models, which is REALLY helpful sometimes. You could also get a mosfet which would control semi-auto function. really handy in my upgraded m4.
