  • HOLY CRAP GIRL!!! YOUR AMAZING!!! This is harder than my senior year frou mallet solo!!! I really want to learn it cause it seems like a very fun peace and you can just see the joy in your face when your performing this!!!! GREAT JOB!!!

  • You will be the future Keiko Abe. I promise. I swear. Congrats!

  • @adachir87 That's so sweet! Thank you!

  • How did you get this amazing? It scares me in a good way.

  • @SRCrawford4 Thank you very much, I am far from that. I do have the best teachers in the world to thank for the skill that I do have.

  • @marimbamarcy You're soo humble, and that's I like about you. You'd make a great teacher. Keep up the good work.

  • Bravo!! What a brilliant performance!! Great flair in your playing and it goes without saying that you have a brilliant technique across the instrument too.

  • omg...this little lady is outstanding. Could watch her 24/7. And, to think she has all this memorized. She looks so relaxed and having such a great time. Love it!!

  • I had to look this up after hearing it on WFMT. It is just awesome! Good luck at Carnegie Hall.

  • Absolutely stunning performance. Love it!

  • I was wondering about the Cadenza you were doing after measure 107. In the music I got in did not have that written anywhere. On the CD I bought by Katarynza Mycka she does almost the same cadenza. I was wondering if you can give me a heads up on what you did there. Thanks.

    -Joseph-

  • @ksjjg23 You can purchase the suggested cadenza that almost everyone plays at norsk-percussion.no

  • Is awesome to watch you playing... I wonder... Which mallets are you using?

  • @dendrums19 For the bass mallet, I used Mike Balter (Contemporary Series) 83, and for the three remaining I used MarimbaOne DHB2.

  • wow. it's so wonderful to hear and watch you play; such power and grace combined. congratulations on winning. it's so deserved. :-)

  • Please hit the "thumbs up" button for her if you enjoyed this. She is entering a competition with this video to play in Carnegie Hall. Marcelina is not only extremely skilled, she gives a phenomenal performance and seems extremely at ease playing even the most difficult pieces. And she also plays drums in a garage band! This girl is a genuine musician, not just a trained set of hands!!!!

  • well played! :)

where can i buy the sheet music for this concerto?

  • @RockabillyChaCha Thank you!

norsk-percussion sells it, please google them

  • Amazing! Why did you decide to play this piece with Burton Grip?

  • @TheActualClarkKent Thank you for your comment! I was trained on Burton grip and love the energy and sound I can get out of it, while also being loose! :^)

  • @marimbamarcy That is so true! Because of the actual contact of the mallets in the hand, so much more power can be drawn out of the marimba. I (and I'm sure many other people) have always been taught Stevens = marimba and Burton = vibes which you've proven totally wrong. I personally love your sound and good luck with the Chicago symphony! Wow!

  • wooot :)

  • Runs?? ;)

    Nicely done.

  • Niesamowite....!!! This is some unbelievable music-making!!!!

  • Very nice! I love the way u play, keep up the good work :)

  • Dude! Nice dynamics and love the mallets. It is so good to see a percussionist smile and look like they are having fun while performing. Can't wait to see your next project Marcelina.

    Keith
