Well, even if Zero would get royalties for all the versions (wich I seriously doubt), that would be very rare in the Jamaican music scene, especially during the late 70's/early 80's. And no, I'm not narrow minded, and don't consider every cover theft. If that was so, I couldn't listen to reggae at all because the same riddims are used over and over again. I love new interpretations! It's all about quality though, and this song is just utter crap and unworthy of the name reggae.

Well, I, for one, consider most reggae as utter and boring crap. Luckily, music allows different tastes. If you don't like this one, then don't listen to it. Spend your time elsewhere, doing something more useful than just hating.

Guess what? Earl Zero even got royalties for this song later on (which has been verified by Zero, too).
It's a pity that some people are so narrow-minded and consider every rearrangement of music as "stealing". It's art.
I agree with the statement that 1:1 covers are bullshit but different interpretations are great.
