I became a UK football fan owing to the kindness and professionalism of your great All-American quarterback and co-star of the 1951 Sugar Bowl, the Kentucky Babe, Vito Parelli. He would arrive in the L.A. Coliseum, where my parents moved from Beaver Falls, PA -- he backed up Bart Starr --, walk off the bus, say "hi," and take his packed lunch with us to a friendly tree where we sat down and talked. My dad had been his childhood friend. Such loyalty and kindess ... things of the past.
