Just to remind everyone, this model ran on a larger CO2 cylinder, NOT on green or red gas. Using either a 7 or even a 20 ounce cylinder you're able to get an almost unlimited number of shots before you have to switch tanks or refill the one you're carrying.

Since then the builder's e-mail address has died, so I have no idea if these models exist, or not. Seaching the net, I have found several AirSoft models which are CO2 powered, but I'm not sure if they also feature recoil, etc. best advice is to do a search using Google to see if you can turn up a maker who offers the same features.

recoil doesnt mean anything. its pneumatic so all the recoil is coming from a big arm that slides back and fourth. the only reason for that recoil is to be realistic. i bet that thing is heavy as shit and that recoil is just gonna get annoying. its a cool concept though.

In this case you have a mass of steel which is driven back against a buffer and it's the sudden stopping of that mass which imparts the recoil effect

You're wrong, it's power comes from either a CO2 or NO2 fileld bottle. The bolt's movement is what generates the recoil, just as occurs in a real weapon. The difference of course is that this one fires 6mm plastic pellets, not led.

ummm... bolt's movement doesn't generate the recoil..... the explosion of the gunpowder charge does. otherwise guns like revolvers or bold-action rifles with hammers only or fixed bolts wouldn't have recoil.

the explosion has to transfer the force THROUGH the bolt, which is probably what you meant

These are electric. A lot of people use these for military simulation games (paintball-type sorta thing), and I'm pretty sure people wouldn't want you shooting them with gas rifles. There are plenty of them, but I'm pretty sure they can pierce skin, even with plastic bb's.
