Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a way to get realistic guitar with fl studio 9, after not being impressed with Fl Slayer and not being able to get Real Guitar and Real Strat to work (possibly because I don't use a music keyboard). This helped a lot.
We're going to release a FREE(demo) VERSION of another good Virtual Guitar called "Petter Guitar",It is more than a Distorted guitar, contains three Pedal Fx for guitar(plus the normal guitar sound),note by note carefully recorded with FENDER equipament.
Ok never mind after taking some time to play around with this VST, the sound is so much better than Fl Slayer, the only way Fl slayer is better is because it has more presets and effects but other than that you can't beat this freeware VST sound its so clear and the distortion sounds real not like Fl Slayer. If you want more effects presets just use other Plug-ins to give the DVS Guitar more variations in sound...I was wrong beats Slayer hands down
ehh no good check out my fl studio 9 metalcore songs and vidoes and you will see hoe good my fl slayer sounds ill al so show you how to use it thanks guys!
Hi mate! I woul'd like to know, what effect did you use to get that kinda sound from DVS Guitar, 'cause I really like how it sounds. Did you use guitar rig or something? I hope I don't bother you, but I'm kinda still beginner, and I hope you could help me with this. Cheers!
@mafiashpagety Yes, I know, but the difference here is that you're using Reasin, and I'm using FL Studio. So, in FL you must put there some effect to make DVS Guitar sound like that. :)
@Soturibardi : a VST effect is just a bunch of algorythms/calculations that need a pre-existing recording in order to make any sound. They just alter that pre-recorded sound. Guitar Rig is one of those, as it needs a recorded guitar, e.g. to distort it.
VSTi (i for instrument) don't alter sound, they only take midi notes (which are NOT SOUND, but electronic information, like an electronic score if you will) to create sound using samples, or sound waves that they generate.
err...I want to tell you that I make some kind of music using DVS guitar...check this out ->
watch?v=ntz9PtHdQOs .... I will not say it's a good music since I'm lower than amateur he he yeah... By the way I'm Indonesian if you find funny language there in the description...
IMO best free way: DVS Guitar & Guitar Rig 3 Demo, but I'm usin' Slayer2 right now 'cause I like the sound and the features (Like that StringFX and the PalmMutes)
@Fussino Hi! Do you have any good advices if I put together Guitar Rig Demo and DVS Guitar? Vhat settings should I use to make a good sound? I've been thinking, that should I keep the tempo kida low, cause if it's fast, the sound isn't so good anymore...? I hope you can help me. :)
@Soturibardi Well, I'd suggest turning off gain and amp with the dvs guitar, so it's somewhat clean, and then adding the guitar rig fx, now there, you can pick any preset you like, I always picked 80's metallic because I loved that sound, but well, that's up to you really. And about the tempo, I don't know what your song's like, you'd have to decide. But if you say it doesn't sound good anymore if it's too fast, well, I wouldn't make it a fast tempo :P I hope I helped, just message me.
@Fussino Thanks for the advice, but sorry, a bit stupid guestion: How do I turn off the amp and gain from DVS? Oh, and I'm doing some melodic metal stuff, you can listen one song from my channel, the song's called Via Dolorosa. I hope I don't bother ya too much, but I'm kinda new with this so...I'm glad there's still helpful people in this world. :)
You gotta open dvs, and there should be something like gain and amp and that stuff, turn it down. And I suggest 80's metallic for Metal, but you really should check yourself, it's in the ear of the beholder :) You're not bothering, I thank you for the compliment! I'm here to help :>
@Fussino But if you, for example, go to youtube, search the vord "DVS Guitar" and open the firts vid, you can see that there's nothing like amp or gain in DVS. What should I do?
well i know how to use it in fl studio, u put it in fl studio plugins, than open fl studio, use instert, more and than quick scan, new plugin will appear it will be red...
DVS Guitar is a good plugin indeed, for rhythm guitar open string/chords part BUT,...... unfortunately it doesn't have any dampen control feature ( palm muting mode) like that found in Super Riff Guitar...well THAT'S REALLY RARE feature ,even in priced commercial VSTI plugins (x cept those PETTINNE HOUSE samples..... may be)...I DO need that feature....
All of the guitar stuff I heard from Ministry of Rock was stale. Not my personal choice, which is why I said in my opinion. I'll look around to see if I can find other tunes using Ministry of Rock, though I sincerely doubt it offers nearly as much flexibility, seeing as Prominy is JUST a guitar and is 60GB and MoR is 20Gb of mixed stuffs. Still, I could use some good bass sounds. How's MoR for that?
why are there so few videos of people using minisrty of rock did you see dr.ryman? he uses realstrat and for me its one of the best sounding electric guitars in vst
Dunno why there's not more of MoR. But the basses and drums in MoR seem to sound nice (from the demos on their site) The guitars just aren't great. RealStrat is okay, but the bridge mutes aren't that good. You also can't double track, which is why I like Prominy's stuff. It's more complicated and cpu hungry, but in my opinion, the quality is above everything else. Since it has all kinds of bends, trills, mutes and chords. The only substitute for an actual guitar, I think.

@Soturibardi First you must learn difference between VST Instruments like this one and VST efects like Guitar Rig,Amplitube etc.
