I wouldn't be able to do a jigsaw with someone else 'helping', it would get on my tits. Over the years I've used the same systematic way of arranging the pieces as I'm doing the puzzle, sorting them into shapes, colours and styles. Anyone else's input wouldn't go down well with me. Jigsaws are supposed to be a solitary pastime, anyway.
i do 1000 piece puzzzles by myself and im 13 and i do them in less than 1 week!! i do them of animals and houses and stuff!! i just finished one of a white tiger and it was relitively hard because all the peices are solid white haha!! NICE JOB GUYS!!
me and my family do a 4000 piece puzzle for 5 years now because we only have time for it in the summers. but it's like 2/3 ready...I'LL NEVER GIVE UP!!!!
Im currently doing that one with my girlfriend, yes Im at the black parts, but theres a LITTLE trick on that one... the way of the image was painted, the brushes are horisontal, so you can divide even more pieces, this have been quite helpfull for us, also Im doing all by myself "The las supper" but my main challenge now will be Testa di Giovana Donna, beautifull but that wil be HELL!
i've done two of those puzzles now, i love them, i did a monalisa, it took me like 5 months. and the otherone is the final judgment by michelangelo, that one only 14 days, nos i'm doing the one with the two angels by Raffaello, i'm 3 days already and i've done only de edge, really difficult, that one that you did, is great congratulations
I've been doing 1000 piece puzzles for quite a while now, and by myself it can take me from a week to maybe a few months to complete. I like the time lapse though, beautiful.
omg, ive been doing 500 piece puzzles for hecka long and im too afraid to move up to 1000, i dont know if i can do 1000 by myself. itll take me like months xD, especially w/ school going on. *sigh* well, ill do one, one day! =) and thanks for reading this pretty useless comment. u guys are great for doing this puzzle!
yea, there's no way that two or three or four of us could have done it. We had many friends visiting us at a rental house, and it took a week to finish.
yea, those are cool; plus the coffee cups in the morning and wine glasses in the afternoon. There's a date stamp that you can see in the hi-res version.
It's a camcorder on a tripod, connected via firewire to an Apple Powerbook. Captured with Evocam software at 1 frame per 5 secs, playback at 30fps and doubled to 60fps for youtube. Compiled with Apple iMovie. It's heavily compressed for the web; the 130Mb hi-res version has a lot more detail.
Two tripod legs are extended and taped to the table (the third leg sticks out into the image), and camera is leaning against a window wall that the table is pushed up against.
yea.. im doing 1500 by myself!!!! at midnnight... gonna be greattttt

OMG I hate you. We've got this exact puzzle...and we gave up lol. It's so hard. Photomosaic puzzles are the most evil puzzles out there.
Good on you for getting it all done! Maybe we need to find 18 of our friend to help out too :D

seems like maybe 5 mins is too long; maybe sped up 3x with a length of 1.5 mins or so would be better.
vdrummer1 5 years ago
cool idea, how did you set the camera up?
