  • Nevermore anyone?

  • i'm in love with this

  • I always picture this song with water and snow involved. But that is just me haha. Nice Video.

  • This video reminds me that there are people still out there who have not been somehow caught up in all this mainstream shit that is corrupting people's brains in the digital world today. If you are watching this, well done. You still have a brain, and that is reassuring.

  • This is what I imagine stars sound like.

  • my favourite song, ever.

  • Cool video, man. I hardly ever watch fan-made videos (or music videos at all, to be honest), but I came across this and really enjoyed it. It made me think of being a kid.

  • what is this tipe of music?

  • This makes me really want to go out and buy a camera and some super 8 film.

Priceless memories and moments with priceless music.

  • I found a piece of happiness withing this song.

  • I love how you filmed a part of the Valley to go with this song. Incredible :D How so much has changed within two years of your filming....

    -Greetings from Weslaco.

  • @EFC429

Actually, I shot this footage around 1998-1999 with a Super 8 camera I had just acquired. Didn't know what to do with this footage for years until I heard this song.

  • This song has helped me through so many panic attacks and/or anxiety riddled moments. God save BSS, I hope they go back to the style they started with.

  • this song is just beautiful

  • "Lilting melancholy" ...beautifully stated!

  • Early BSS is so good, what the hell happened? Why did they choose to leave behind the post-rock and ambient? :c

  • @farewelle I agree. I like their current stuff, but this song is like nothing I've ever heard. It's incredible.

Still, Guilty Cubicles is a once in a lifetime song. Even if they had continued making post-rock and ambient music, none of it would have compared to Guilty Cubicles, I guarantee! THAT'S how amazing this song is :)

  • Gorgeous video. What did you shoot it on? 16mm?

  • @Artstarism

    Super 8.

  • Could it be possibly that this would play in heaven for me?

  • finding good music and bands like this on any radiostation is like looking for a flower in some thorn bushes, the shitty music (thorns) keeps u from lookin but the flowers (real music) are in ther somewhere. or you can look up indie, alternate music on the net

  • One of the greatest moments of my life: hearing this live.

  • This song makes me feel a sense of nostalgia and longing. But I don't know what I'm longing for. I can listen to this song for ages and still get lost in it every time.

The music video goes with the song so well. I wish I could enter this video. I wish the world looked like grainy film and this song played on loop.

Especially at the end, on the overpass with the cars. I wish I were there, so badly.

Kids my age listen to crappy music. I'm so glad that I can appreciate this song's beauty.

  • nice video! reminds me of top soil by bibio

  • Cool stuff

  • i was gonna watch this video, but I thought, hey why don't i just just slit my wrists instead

  • Ambient bliss, so thick you can get lost in it. Only sensitive ears can appreciate this type of beauty. Listen to this song anytime you feel like disappearing...

  • this song brought me to places that i have never been to before..

  • there is not many pieces of music that you hear today that can make you feel such emotions as this song. great video as well! bss are geniuses which is exactly why more people have heard of lady gaga and justin beiber. most americans dislike intelligence and art/music/movies with substance.

  • @pgriffs1 what the hell type of comparison is that? BSS and Bieber are Canadian, yet you are likening them to the preferences of Americans as a whole?? What the fuck? BSS don't get as much airplay within the US as Canada. Think of media sampling you dumbass before you make retarded comments that get you thumbs downed like right now asshole.

  • @Hamgammy dude, chill the fuck out. all i was saying is that it's sad that lady gaga and justin beiber (talentless wastes of life) are famous in the US and bss is unknown. it's sad that the majority of americans buy into corporate whores like beiber and lady gaga instead of appreciating BRILLIANT MUSIC LIKE BSS. wtf is wrong with saying that? most americans couldn't tell good music if it was being played right in front of them.

  • @pgriffs1 well said, well said! You could add, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, and (all of the Disney puppets) too.

  • Perfect

  • It saddens me deeply that with the advance of digital technology, in 100 years people may not be aware of the beautiful aesthetics of grainy jumpy film. And even if they see it I imagine it would be meaningless, unable to evoke the warmth it can in you and I, because they don't have any experiences or memories for it to evoke.

  • @rothery86

You're right. But perhaps there is still hope... I am only 15, and I have only ever been brought up with films that are not grainy... but still, this video captures the warmth, and delicate beauty of life, thanks to the quiet swoon of guitars that is Guilty Cubicles, and the wonderful video.

I really hope your prediction doesn't come true.

  • @rothery86 so what? different people respond to different mediums? just because you grew up on this doesn't mean that it's any better than something that will influence a new generation of people. Get your conceited head out of your ass and look at the big picture you arrogant twat.

  • @EagleHawkSpider No. What I am saying is that there will be a total lack of a specific, extremely evocative medium after digital technology reaches critical mass. In fact that has already happened. An entire style of nostalgia will be gone, and I find that sad, as it is not being replaced by anything.

  • Great video for a great song. Every time I hear it, I am overtaken by an indescribable feeling.

  • really nice video.

  • dignified loneliness

  • dignified loneliness

  • why is the song titles "guilty cubicles"?

  • this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music of this generation.

  • @gillsmcgee411 you obviously haven't seen/listened to anything.

  • @gillsmcgee411 you have a closed mind then

  • very nice and relaxed song, nice vid to man, hellos from San Diego CA

  • This song overwhelms me. I can't help but feel a lilting melancholy when I hear this song.

  • @blinnlambert This song has always been a sedative for me, But reading your comment...

I only find myself able to conjure a single tear. Emotions kept veiled for so long...

Music, Especially broken social scene, reminds me that everythings not ok.

    But that is ok.

  • @blinnlambert but in a good way!

  • @yesyall40 most definitely! it's good to be sad sometimes. Like the title of their album "feel good lost"

  • @blinnlambert its so nice

  • Thank god for these new batch of indie / alt rock / post rock bands. It's completely restored my faith in music

  • Not new at all. You just haven't been looking in the right places. Listen to some Grizzly Bear too if you like BSS.

  • I do, Veckatimest is amazing

  • One of my favourites, its just so beautiful :)

  • Something indescribably beautiful about this.

  • You should check out the video to "everything you do is a balloon" by boards of Canada. Similar yet more developed

  • rockbottom...

    1. Godspeed

    2.BSS

    3. Sigur Ros

    4. Explosions

    thoughts?

  • My thoughts are you have a fantastic music taste!

  • Its gotta be BSS for me at the top. Sorry dude but you new someone would say it...

  • what kind of music category does this fall under??

  • none....

that's why Broken Social scene are so fantastic....

  • Post-Rock / Ambient

  • post-rock

  • It looks like a home video because it is a home video --- lame.

  • This song reminds me of wind chimes and that's good.

  • NICE!

  • you're very talented, great job

  • Hey, this video is actually good. I love how you made it look like a home movie.
