@bumice911 hahahha, i just read this comment and it was hilarious.. then i was like oh shit i wrote that...hahaha why dosent this comment have like a thousand thumbs up??
Really cool stuff. I would like my granddaughter to get involved in this kind of classical music. I think she could do it. She has a music video entitled "Absu Road" on YouTube.
How superb finding this video on YT - almost by accident. It brings back many great memories - I loved these Swingle Singers already so many years ago ( 1968 ?) back in Holland at the time. Could not stop listening !! Thanks for the upload !
Me too!! I grew up listening to this kind of cool stuff - "Switched On Bach" as well - and E Power Biggs on the organ and Horowitz playing Chopin polynaises - but i'll always have a Soft Spot for the Swingle Singers!!!
You're that stunning soprano's cousin? (Joanna Goldsmith, is it?) It's hard for me to watch that Swingle Singers clip without slowly falling in love with her more and more each time. I assume she's married, of course, but... is she?
That soprano singing the (solo) melody is astonishing: that tune is quite difficult to pull off (from both a breathing and intonation standpoint) and her lovely voice achieves this flawlessly. Mmmmmm!
What he says at 2:12 is so true...starting one's day with Bach sort of puts everything in perspective and allows one to carry out one's day in a more peaceful and (forgive the pun) well tempered way.
And OH! The Swingles' "SPRING" by Vivaldi!!

@Friendulum I believe she's married to tenor Richard Eteson. I'm as disappointed as you are!

Agreed. (My dad always started the day with classical music - not Stravinsky, but post-romantic and earlier.)
