@bassistlovesjamerson Drummer Pat Illinqworth informs me that he continues to be booked by Colin Blunstone for tours including one to Japan. I am wondering if the sound quality on Yahoo is doing justice to the sound mix. To be fair, we should realise that the musicians employed on the two great early 70s albums were more about strings, acoustic piano and lush touches. Colin's voice (after his training and strengthening) is up to the task. How to get these numbers across?
Good to see Colin in business but for some reason the instruments sound quite laboured - where is the flow. Is it the drummer that is somehow too regimented and heavy for this soft rock.
@Silverford1992 I'm afraid I can't agree with your statement. I was at The Stables in 2009. Fantastic gig, Colin sounding superb. Especially on Miracles, where he hit the high notes just like in the 70s. 2010 I was at the 100Club. Same wonderful performance there, although the sound of the Club was not that good. Have seen the Zombies a zillion times all around Europe since 2007. I was always blown away by Colin's voice.
I expect mr orge was there

Drummer sounds like a Camel with a Musket but still got a kick from Colins voice.

Reminds me of being a moody schoolboy playing the record on the gramophone in about, crikey, 1970? And here he is. Believe in miracles!
