Turnaround of Del Potro's career right here. Not saying that he would have been bad had he lost the final, but it gave him confidence for the the next 1 1/2 years. Unfortunately he's been ouf for quite some time now. Hopefully he gets back real soon, he's got a huge game.

Nothing's wrong with that. The best players overpower most of their opponents. RF does it, he just makes it look pretty. Nadal's forehand is brutal. Murray's a trickster, but he can only get away with it coz his shots (backhand especially) are stronger than most. Djokovic forces guys back with raw pace before he goes for angles. Roddick's serve is huge. Tsonga's = huge serve, then an inside-out forehand followed by a trip to the net, if necessary. etc

But they all have tremendous variety; Federer, Nadal Murray, Djokovic are all the top tactician, just look at the way they play. And Tsonga is really tricky, he also has some crazy touches, dropshots and Roddick's getting smarter too. When I watched Del Potro played, all he knows is to hit the ball as hard as he can to the corner plus his big serve and that's all he has. Anyway, because I favor a smart style so my opinion may be too radical, completely disregard it if you want

there's nothing radical about it, you're merely stating the obvious. Del Potro would be a fool to play away from his strengths, he's 6-5 isn't he, he's got no business getting into cat and mouse points with quicker, more agile players. Trying to please you aesthetically would just lead to foolish losses. He's also the youngest player in the top 10 and already more consistent than Tsonga and moves better than Roddick. I'm just glad he's not going the Karlovic route

cause hes a bloody good player lol. he breezed to the quarters in aus open before federer moped him. Ones he gets used to his massive body he wont look so awkward and start really putting away good shots.

All he can do is just try to overpower other players, it may work with some players but when he meets tricky player like Federer or Djokovic or other good players, he's like a fool. He made enough points into the top 10 mostly because he won small tournament and luckily met average players.
