It depends on your case and how tightly it holds the humidifier in. For example, if you have a flat case, it may work fine, but if you have an archtop case with extra space, the humidifier may come loose.
Good video. I bought an Oasis Humidifier from MacNichol Guitars (through amazon.com). There was a slight problem with the unit, and MacNichol quickly shipped a new product as well as a return label for the original unit. Two thumbs up for excellent customer service for a mere $17 product.
Low humidity can cause the wood to crack, resulting in damage. Also, particularly with an acoustic, a "dry" guitar will have a weak and tinny sound. Using a humidifier will help to avoid these problems.
Do I need distilled water?
