how to teach your bird to talk

It's much much harder to teach a female budgie to talk. I'd even go so far as to say it's impossible. The females are harder to tame in all other aspects aswell. Fear of hands, biting and even such a simple thing as being calm and accepting the precence of humans at all is a much harder thing to achieve with females. Remember this if your first budgie turns out to be no fun and hates your guts.

My friend has a bird and it has a little mirror in its cage,and she teached it how to look in the mirror and say "Pretty bird!" lol it is so sweet! :D

another tip on teaching a bird to talk.... when you teach a bird to talk... you need to think about your birds pitch in voice. some birds have low pitch voices and high pich voices just like humans! Parakeets should be taught by a child or someone with a high pitch voice. And cockatoos seam to have a voice like a women so a women should teach a cockatoo. :)

@JessicaFaaaith yes it is possible but it is a little bit harder because you need to talkto one budgie at a time and and swap so both budgies aren't interfering with each other :P

@JessicaFaaaith No. It's best to isolate the bird to get to know you. If there's another bird in the cage or a mirror, it's a distraction and more than likely the bird will not talk. The budgies that I had that talked, never had a mate or mirror. Hope that helps :)
