i think this would've been better acquired by apple first, and then maybe windows second (for their coffee table sized ipad). i don't really see how google could apply this to their products, i think it was more of an "insurance-buy" so that their rivals wouldn't get the technology... nothing against google, i love them to bits and pieces, but i think the tech is in the wrong hands and will simply die off. sigh.

Pretty cool I see some potential in this, even if it is not that useful today because of the system we use, we should not ignore new technology if that has some potentials and this one has. We should get rid of the mouse and the lame 2D touch pad. Lets be honest, the touch pad today is 2D that mimics 3D the graphic then again is 3D but not the touch it self. This is a true 3D touch pad on the 2D touch screen with a 3D graphic screen. The next step could be to try to make a true 3D touch screen.

A lot of people on here saying it's useless... have you tried using it? I work in a software company and have to juggle many roles, such as pre-sales, professional services and development, and Bumptop is an awesome interface for making that easier.

I don't have a mess on my desktop anymore, or endless folders full of crap. It's so much more intuitive to pile stuff up and pin stuff to the walls, and when you're presenting, it's the ultimate wow factor. I couldn't use a normal desktop anymore!

@moezawoo90 this is useless. ask yourself: does this really help you do things faster? i can imagine you can everything on this no faster than you can do it on a regular desktop. in fact, something like this (a 3d desktop) must be quite the memory hog. if anything it would make you less productive as it sucks up your memory and processing resources, especially for portable devices which is where you usually use touchscreens.
