She has a nice voice but its NOT hard to be eight. I got through it in a wisp. I think the lyrics over react a bit. though to be honest she is a good singer.
Karen was my sweetie way back when. I started the first grade just before this program started on TV. It was so nice to come home from school around 4 PM and have this start an hour later and fill up the following hour!!! I sort of made up for no longer being able to watch Captain Kangaroo in the mornings.
Ah, great memories... I had such a huge crush on Karen... I always hated cubby because I just knew he was muscling in on my woman.... I wrote and asked for a picture of Karen, and they sent me a picture of the whole crew... and there, down in front - sitting on the floor I believe - was Karen and my arch enemy Cubby... right next to each other! grrrrr...... LOL! Thanks so much for posting this :-)
How come we never saw or hear of these kids going wild or on drugs like Britney, angelina, and Miley who is now Hanna Montanna now? And she is going wild to? Better times and better morals back then. Much better times.
Oh, some of the Mousketeers had their moments, too. I believe Doreen posed for Playboy, and Darlene has spent some time in jail. Karen has always been one of my favorites, though. Simply sweet.
Karen and Cubby were always my favorites. I wish I had a picture of myself in my Mickey Mouse ears. My mother always told me how I adored the Mickey Mouse Club.
I'm old enough to have watched all the original Mickey Mouse Club, but I was too young to appreciate the appeal of Annette at the time. No, Karen was my heartthrob and I would just melt every time she would sing, "Now it's time to say good-bye to all our company."
What a talented little girl! I saw the Mousketeers at Disneyland just after the park opened. Karen was dancing behind the other Mouseketeers because, as Jimmy explained, she was just learning the dance. She did it perfectly anyway.
This was a 1957 segment, spotlighting a "request" {repeat} of a 1956 "Talent Round-Up Day" musical number featuring Karen. Originally, there was a one minute commercial inbetween the opening sequence and Karen's song....
