The Afghans are surprisingly nice people. Most are very friendly despite all the shit that goes on. The kids are some thieving little buggers though. Feel free to brake-check them when they run up on your vehicle.
PS the locals that live all up and down the mountain road are really nice they have these water pipes that run down parts of the mountain and they use falling water to make water fountains they use to wash cars and keep drinks cold.We stopped for a little bit to fix a truck so i let my AG take over i walked over and was buying cold drinks from this old man he laughed the whole time and was taking pictures with me and all 77 of his kids LOL! what was funny it was a I phone better than mine :/

This is crazy, I drove threw that tunnel back in 09 going from Kabul To Mazar. It was CRAZY, we could hardly see the van who drove about 10 feet in front of us. Pretty much pitch black, smoggy and full of snow and ice...
By the way, I stayed there for a total of 2 month (not military) and I have to say Afghan people are the NICEST people I have ever met! No doubt about it, and I have travel many places.

@lavolvo yeah well ill enjoy my "dangerous bridges" in cali of which ive never seen ONE collapse though its happend its very very rare. the oakland bridge in the 80's and the 57 freeway in the 90's and thats about it. but no its not perfect but its better than anything the russians can AFFORD.
