  • I believe this game actually ran a bit better on the Genesis, then again that's the only version I played on the original cart format. Emulation can often screw up how a game plays.

  • @Snotnarok True but I think you're right I have both this and Flashback on the Genesis and SNES and I think they both run faster on the Genesis. No surprise with the heavy raster style animation the Genesis has a faster CPU for that type of thing.

  • @MN12BIRD Yeah I'm not trying to be bias here, it's just what I've observed. I prefer the Genesis version of Flashback overall, the Sega CD version dipped into that prerendered 3D and it just looked silly compared to what they had on the genesis. I still can't believe they had "videos" on carts back then, they REALLY did amazing things back then.

  • @Snotnarok thats why I hate emulators

  • @GamerNinjaX Yeah they can suck, unless you find that ultra rare game you just can't find then...yeah they can be pretty good to have.

It's fairly goofy when people say "hey look at doom on the SNES it runs great!" on an emulator but the actual cart is barley running. More people gotta learn they can't do that really

  • I saw Copyright by Interplay and I was like "I WANT THIS GAME!" lol

  • uses super fx chip?

  • I remember playing this for the Thuper Nintendo. It's different style intrigued me but I was unable to finish it; partly in due to having a lack of patience (or perhaps skill).

  • this game was pretty tight, it took me forever to realize you can hold the shoot button down to increase the power of the gun :P flashback was really cool too!

  • what nationality are you? you look Caucasian , but maybe with a little Asian like filipino?

  • i love this game!!

  • That looks amazing for super nintendo.

  • this game is effing hard i hate it with all my heart.

  • Lester wears black socks with white shoes just like Kolchak the Night Stalker! XD Lester also vaguely resembles John Carmack.

Ever since I was 11 or 12, I've had the number 4511932 permanently burned into my memory thanks to this great game.

    \8-D

This game has amazing music and background art.

  • Ya know, I actually saw this game at a pawn shop YEARS ago as a little kid when I was shopping around. But, I chose George Foreman's KO Boxing instead. I never forgave myself. :(

  • I always thought this game was so strange when i was a kid . i had a hard time on it , wish i could find it .

  • There's always Ebay. :)

  • or he could just download the rom, much eaiser

  • True, downloading the rom is the easiest option. But it's so much better to have the actual cartridge of the game IMO!

  • this is like the same exact animation style as the game "The Dig" which I love!

  • i played this game a while ago preety good im going to to see if i can find a copy

  • i want to ask u if i can put u on my site,

  • There was a game on the psx called Heart of darkness that looks like it copied this games formula. If you havn't played heart of darkness, definetly play it. i love it :D. and its damn hard too

  • "Heart of Darkness" was created/designed by the same person as "Out of this World".

  • Yeah man thats why i looked this game up it looked like heart of darkness and i wanna buy it too

  • Hey JAKE!! I just wanted to tell you that your awsome and I love the way you canadians say "out" XD . its cute. =P

You inspired me to buy this game off ebay. the game sort of reminds me of the movie "waking life". It was made using the rotoscope technology. I recommend checking it OWT!

  • You should play this game naked while eating a beef jerky!

  • this game looks sweet

  • OMG for some reason it reminds me of odd world and let me just say that i freakin love odd world so this game i might get

  • I used to love this game. If only there were games nowadays that tread similar ground.

  • OMG I remember this game, soooo awesome loved these type of games back then freakin real.

Awesome music. I loved that part with the water.

  • Awesome...you really seemed to know what you were doing. I'd probably die at the bear. :P

  • interesting game, looked innovative for its time

im guessing the video was the special thing about it being a snes game not a lot had video

load times lol yeah reading straight from memory is faster than searching a disk for data

  • looks awesome

  • Wow you are right! Load times? HAHA What the hell. Sega CD didn't even have LOAD TIMES.. WEIRD

  • I have the best version of this game. I have it on SEGA CD with its sequel! I love this game!

  • This review was...outta' this world!

  • It's not a review..

MN12 just showed us a great game..

  • i got this on the genesis

  • i remembered renting this game once and playing a lot. i never understood the story and it was freaking weird all around.

  • ah, great game! I played this when I was really little on my Dad's Mac.

  • Wow..never saw such a game..it must be rare

  • why you don't Talk in this time? But suill a very good game

  • I believe that this game had inspired Mr Kojima I heard this I believe in a screwattack video

  • it was Fumito Ueda who was inspired by it to make Ico.

  • umm im not sure about that but I do remember when I watched the video they had said kojima was for sure but I mean this game in the 16 bit era was very impressive so I'm not surpriced if it inspired many producers

  • yeah, i went and did some research after i left this comment and found out that it'd inspired both of them in making games.

just goes to show i should have done my research beforehand, haha!

  • both of what this game and odd world?

  • They are releasing this game for the PS3. 1080p graphics on tap and sound via THX

  • There was a sequal to this game on the Sega CD. "Another World 2: Heat of the Alien". If you played it you would know it was a sad game :-(

  • i hated this game lol, i was drunk everytime i played it however

  • put the bottle down. you dont need that. we need eachother.

  • interesting for sure

  • I heard there was a Half-life reference in this game, is that true?

  • I have the Genesis version of OOTT. Is it just me or is most of the opening sequence absent from the Genesis version?

  • I have this on 3DO. I would always laugh when I played it because the access (load) light on the 3DO would only flash once. A very low tech game for the 3DO IMHO, but awesome none the less.

  • I used to own this on SNES, but I eventually sold it when I got rid of my SNES. (I eventually bought another SNES again, just because I missed playing Mega Man X so much.) Honestly, the SNES version of this game runs very poorly compared to the Genesis version, which I still own. Actually, I think that I have two copies of it.

  • dis game reminds me of Flashback for the Sega Genesis. were they made by de same company?

  • Yeah this was a great game. I have it on the Amiga. I played this game for hours when I was a kid. Of course it the Amiga version had better graphics but I must say out of all the console ports this one on the SNES is the best.

  • Wow Jake , I though I was the only one on earth who had this game .

  • Nope. I guess a few others have it too!

  • Ahh yes, a must-have for anyone with an SNES.

  • great game although i havent played much of it,

but i brought a snes recently for a game made by the same producers.. flashback. love that game.

gunna try and pick this up, i gotta get some more snes games. i only have flashback and super mario world.. oh and some sucky sports games that came with the console.

oh and i swear i could hear capacitor whine when your recording from the webcam. might be the fans though, or me just tripping out.

  • Very good game I played originally on AMIGA.....

  • Yeah, I put up one for the 3D0 and in Japan it's called "Outer World". maybe you saw that vid? it looks almost the same to the T. great vid for sure.

  • No clue this was on snes.

  • ...........

  • u have a model 2 snes lol

  • Yes I have both :)

  • i remember when this came out for the amiga i didnt get it because it looked so graphics wise like crap. no i am sorry i passed it up looked like a fun game

  • Man the graphics were revolutionary for the time! But I guess you had to see them in motion to know that.

  • very very true only way i knew of this game was off of amiga world magazine and it just had a still shot which looked like crap. i never new it looked so awesome in motion. it is nice that today we can just jump on here and get all the reviews we want we sure have changed in the last 20 years.

  • I loved this game. Too bad, that it is that short.

And the ending is a little... depressing.^^

  • i played this on dos,not a bad game but hard as hell

  • Out of this World, Another World...

In Japan this game is called Outer World. Why so many different titles with the same idea?

Well, this game is awesome. And the end (in Heart of the Alien) is amazing too.

  • another world was the bollox ,, really good for the time

  • Great game indeed.

  • is it just me or does this video have really crappy quality at the beginning the game videos arent too bad

  • animation is awesome

  • had it on 3do

  • well i guess sents its good it's "out of this world"?

  • I have this for the Amiga computer, it didn't blow me away but it was pretty fun. And the load times are because of the heavy compression they used to squeeze alot of data into a small capacity cartridge.

  • Even gameplay could be frustrating at times I just had to add that the cutscenes were really well made.

  • lmao people actually did as well
