  • win xp was older then i thought, IM USInG IT RIGHT NOW!

  • win 98 was best, except of the blusceens

  • Thanks for the video!

  • lol the mouse didnt change until windows vista lol

  • Thumbs up if you still have Windows XP and Love it!!!!

  • You can find this song if you have XP and open in "C:\Windows\system32\oobe\images" file called "title.wma". Or you can simply search on youtube "hidden windows song"

  • I didnt understand why so many ppl hated vista. after installing it I really liked it's new look and all but there were just so many processing errors. another thing was that most versions came in 32bit mode and a 64bit was hard to find.

  • I totally loved Windows 3.11 @ 40 MHZ 386DX @ 8 MB RAM

    i totally loved Windows 95 @ 166 Pentium MMX @ 32 MB RAM

i totally loved Windows 2000 and had it running almost 10 years on different systems

today i got XP@ 3,2 Ghz DualCore / 4 GB RAM and i must say, i miss the good old days!

  • @Co0kieMadera187

Windows 2000 is and always will be king

and a 386DX with 8 MB RAM for Windows 3.11 is kind of an overkill :)

  • im using xp

  • Should have included BASIC and DOS to make it complete :o) (altough that's not windows of course, just MS)

  • WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SONG

  • WHAT IS THIS SONG

  • YAY! I Got Windows VIsta!!!

  • @AjBlog100 vista sucks big balls

  • @benry200 Aw.

  • don't know why ppl hate windows vista? I like it

  • @lightspeedkiller i like it to but is has some bugs

  • In like 30 years we will all look at this and feel sad for the ppl who had to use windows 7

  • @lightspeedkiller Actually- I feel like that - today. XP is so superior to that crap Vista and 7 it's not even funny.

  • windows XP is so good of an OS that i still have it (i have 7 as a backup if this OS goes corrupt)

  • @ds4041 so do i. Microtrash should have stopped after XP.

  • This was like watching a civilization start, rise, peak, and start crumble. The Roman's had extravagance too in their final days (graphic improvements and stylish windows design) but they were still extirpated because of incompetence (why would you remove the directory up button? Breadcrumbs????) and through the devastion of invading hordes (APPLE !). Arg I want to switch to Linux so bad.

  • "Coming soon: Windows 7, the windows that won't work but at least is not Vista ! " This video was like watching a civilization start, rise, peak, and then crumble. I hate that I'm stuck with 7. I would rather have stayed with XP, and yes 98 worked pretty darn good too. What were the programmers really doing when they were supposed to be improving windows' design and function. Playing solitaire? Although really its probably the higher-ups faults for not demanding a better product.

  • ah the good old days... when my computer actually WORKED 90% of the time

  • The Graphics quality between Windows XP & Windows VISTA = The quote of Neil Armstrong in the moon.

    Microsoft Windows Vista's Motto is

Windows Vista = A true supporter to eat your RAM

  • The Graphics quality between Windows XP & Windows VISTA = The quote of Neil Armstrong in the moon

  • nice vid dude

  • Ah vista the software that makes me want to throw my computer from the top of trump tower and burn it

  • mac ftw, pc kinda sucks...

  • mac ftw, pc kinda sucks

  • nice

  • i have win 7 ultimate edition and i can tell, it's a lot better than mac

  • Nice job, but windows computers are a joke... sorry.

  • Nice job, but windows computers are a joke... sorry.

  • Windows 7 is t3h s3x! Best since 98!

  • where is win server 2008

  • I just happen to have the OS you didn't show... Windows 7 :P But anyways, the music and video is awesome! Good work!

  • This is the only video I've seen that even hinted at Microsoft Server 2003 Datacenter Edition. Thumbs up for being unique!

  • omg i can download it now without doing the survery using sharecash download that i got from keygenpawnage.co.cc

  • wow bastante bueno un saludo desde mexico

  • i remember those days when i had windows ME and 95 those are some good memories :)

  • Realy cool

  • @goldendude909090

I still think Win2K was the most stable. After all, Win2K was NT5 and XP was NT5.2 or something along those lines. Same OS, just added an updated gui slowing the system down.

  • One thing nobody said yet. Coming in 2012 windows 8. boom I said it

  • Name this song?

  • Now we have the same stuff... with transparency -.-

  • @chobotnorgolbo haha so true

  • the name of the song????!! ^.^ I like it...!!!

  • amazing video.

  • Comment removed

  • Haha Windows 95 was pimpin

  • *sniff* It grew up so fast.

  • what's the name of the song?

  • @21khaos2008 if you have Win XP then just search for all music files in your pc and it will be there with name Title.

  • thanks

  • windows seven was my idea, just sayin'

  • I think we should all sue microsoft for copyright infringement. They stole our ideas lol

  • 1) Windows XP Home Edition

    2) Windows XP Professional edition

    3) Windows XP Corporate

    4) Windows XP Media Center

    5) Windows XP Starter Edition

    6) Windows XP Embedded

    7) Windows XP Fundamentals for Legacy

  • Ah you did this video already! I was planning on doing it but I figured someone had to have already done it. Very good choice of music for this video too by the way.

  • Well, this video is out of date because I didn't include videos of Windows 7. I'm pretty sure no one has done a video that includes Windows 7.

  • Yeah I've been loving Windows 7 so much that is why I even did a search to see the windows of past. I remember using Windows 1.0 on my parents old Zenith Data System. Actually the computer ran off of DOS but we had the disc for windows and I would run it just to play reversi.

  • @jediwizards Song name please !

  • @Alex1421001 This is the song of the Windows XP tour.

Which again proves, how superior it is to trash like Vista and 7.

  • @hardstyle905 I found it since then but thanks anyway.I still have XP, kinda dislike the new vista/7 looks..

  • I have Vista and its relitively good but it does not work well with games from an older time.

  • it's amazing how computer technology evolved over 25 years... in another 25 years, i'm sure i'll simply laugh when i think about Windows 7, my macbook pro or even the playstation 3.

  • @viomartyr And laugh at the iPod, iMac, xbox 360, and that in less than 10 years!

  • @viomartyr or windows 1.01 xD

  • @viomartyr I already laugh at the PS3.

  • @viomartyr I laugh at Bullshit 7.

    XP FOREVER

  • nice job but i noticed you missed a few of thre later ones like windows xp professional

  • noo! professional is just a another edition of XP. XP itself is divded into 3 editions

    1. Home edition

    2.Media Center edition

    3. Professional

  • Windows 7 is the latest as it was released in october 22nd , they are both similar to each other because they both have areo but windows 7 is better , well i think so anyway .

  • what is the latest the vista or the se7en?

  • Windows 7

  • i remember that the first windows i have is the win98 and it is a slight boring but now i am contented with xp. and i also want to try the vista

  • Goodbye Windows XP, you have served me well :(

  • I remember Win95.

Windows has come a long way.

    But just remember.

    Vista NEVER happened. =D

  • whahahah! good one

  • wwindows vista sucks! windows 7 rocks =P

  • Oh dear God I'm old enough to have seen ALL THEM !!! AHHHH!!!! I remember DOS, I still use it from time to time... even on Vista...

  • so do i. as far as im concerned, its the most reliable and fast thign ever to come out of ms

  • :) Made my day. lol.

  • Out of all Windows OSs, Win7 turned out to be the best. It is pretty fast, doesn't use that much resources and looks stunning. Now it's worth comparing to a Mac. I have both and i now love my both computers equally...

    MACs look better though :)

  • all windows os are great, you just need to find the one that suits your style

  • that almost brought a tear to my eye

  • MS DOS ... omg..!

  • Totally remember Win95 launch date, remember many of us couldn't wait to buy it and try it out!

  • Dream Academy song Power to Believe

  • this music is nearly the same same as the end theme in Planes Trains & Automobiles Power To Believe. The more I listen to it the more Iam convinced it is.

  • is this in chronilogical order?

were the OS's released in this order?

  • Comment removed

  • awesome music ^^...5.01/5.00....hahahaha^^

  • 3.11 to 98 was there biggest jump

  • Pretty good milestones! 5/5

  • i remember windows 2000...

  • apparently vista is just a stepping stone for windows 7, which would make sense of why they are so closely related

  • yea with vist they were just testing new stuff, thats why it didnt work well :D i have windows 7 now and its great.

  • where is Windows Se7en? :/

  • Well, this video was made in 2007 before Windows 7 was made public.

  • awesome friend, i cry; old school rules

  • the background music reminds me of when i would factory restore my old Compaq Presario running on Windows Me =]

  • cool video and the music is so mystic and relaxing 5/5

  • music is from windows xp when you first sign up with microsoft

  • Vista is completedly useless for me and looks horrible. Sticking with XP.

  • me too - Until Windows 7 is out. Windows 7 is actually quite bug free already

  • this isnt evolution bill gates did it

  • Duh, of course it isn't a biological evolution.

You should read more books to understand the meaning and the proper usage of words.

  • So that windowsserver 2003 is better than xp :P xD?

  • u forgot the windows nt evolution!

  • Seven will be public in November 2009

  • yes, i have been waiting for it

  • hey you forgot windows xp media center edition!

  • Keep in mind that when XP was released, it was hated as much as Vista was hated when it was first released. It wasn't until XP SP2 did most people stop complaining about XP. The point is that no operating system will be perfect and you will have to give it time for the updates and fixes.

  • Windows 7 is basically this fix.

  • @jediwizards sorta like a cumming penis that drips out of control, your bitch will hate you until you learn to fix your splashes

  • I have to say that I enjoy Windows Vista; its all experimental. Yes, Vista had it's share of probs. just like 98 did, and other OS. It took a lot of processing power to use Vista, but they did introduce new tools like SECURITY! I like it when Windows tells me that a program needs my permission to continue. I also think of how blessed I am to have someone make something, like an OS, work for me. I am thankful for the things I have, and you all should be too.

  • Vista is when Bill Gates thinks like Steve Jobs but forgets to make anything work......................

  • My system is old, but I refuse to pay top whack for Vista, when XP does everything I need. Plus, I can do without even MORE bloatware! Classic case of fixing something that isn't broken!

  • what microsoft did with vista was substitute a good computer with a good looking comeputer

  • Vista part was too long. And where are the security alerts?

"Are you sure you want to run this file?" yes...

"This file is potential harmful, are you sure?" yes...

"Would you like to grant access to this file?" yes...

"Are you..." OK POWER OFF NOW. BACK TO XP.

  • Let me guess, your system is too old to run vista. Maybe you can't afford vista. Either way, you sound like a XP fanboy. What's your deal? Vista is better by far unless you like it old school. If you like XP, fine, but get off the XP wagon.

  • Umm, wrong, wrong, wrong, (XP fanboy? does this category exist now), and wrong. And wait, yeah that's wrong too.

Not only is XP better relatively (to the times they were released) but when I use my friends Vista laptops, I -and them- really end up having a painful experience.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but do you have how many companies after skipped Vista entirely? Forget about the individual end user failure, Vista was on a totally different level of fail.

  • nice work man !

  • and... mac?

  • Used them all... and I'm only 15

  • in my high school they have window 98 in almost all of the computers.....that sux....-.-...oh and those old machintosh too

  • windows is a joke bottom line. The only thing useful about it is that you don't have to pay for software for it, thats about it. You dont even need to buy it in order to have it.

Does anyone know the Standard hardware requirements to both XP, Vista and OSX?? By standard i mean to run the OS with no problems of slow down and stalling.

  • Windows isn't a joke, but your system probably is. I run XP and Vista and never had one problem. I don't see what the fuss is about. Also, what are your other options, OSX, ubuntu, linix? I choose Windows over any other OS.

  • dude my system runs vista like nothing, but when you open up some performance programs, vista is taking up so much ram and cpu time that its insane, no OS should require that much power for doing nothing but starting up. The only useful thing about windows is if you dont wanna pay for software you dont have to and it works flawless.

  • Well, the way you put it sounds like it's the third party softwares that is slow and not the operating system. For example, Adobe Photoshop is slow because Photoshop is slow, not because of the operating system.

  • What I'm trying to say is that it might not entirely be Vista's fault that your computer sometimes slow down. Usually, it is third party softwares that slow a system down.

  • well in my pc i know that could be the case but, at work for example its just windows and office and both laptops are configured the same way, the only difference is one has XP the other vista, and the one with XP runs like lighting. The vista home edition mind you, is slow like hell. I was like come on to have the look and feel of vista needs this much power? like OSX and vista are close copies so why is vista needed a hell of alot more to do less. why would you do that as a company?

  • Dont get me wrong vista was a nice touch but i think the average computer thats in the store's today wasn't ready to deal with the power of vista, not only that but the non back words compatibility is whats killing everyone too. win7 shouldn't cost over 100 since its still vista just fixed like XP was when it 1st came out with all of its errors and crashes. Why can't microsoft just build on top of what they already have and just add features instead of making new OS's with issues?

  • I don't know. I guess Microsoft saw something wrong with XP kernel.

The good news is that Windows 7 uses Vista kernel so it all the compatibility issues should not be a big problem. Also, Windows 7 will and is already faster and more stable than Vista because the Vista kernel is pretty much refined now.

Now for Vista, from the RTM, I found it to be a better start than when I first used XP. After SP1, Vista became better and I have found SP2 Beta to be fantastic.

  • They tried to build the new OS off of the XP kernel. The original project was called Longhorn. They to the point where they realized that the XP kernel is shit. After 3 years, they simply ditched longhorn, and started from scratch, using the updated Server 2003 kernel. This led to Windows Vista. If you have the hardware for it, you'll realize that Vista is the best product ever produced by MS.

  • True, Vista especially after SP1 flies on modern PC. Vista is better than XP at handling RAM. By that I mean Vista will make better usage of your RAM.

Also, for anyone who finds Vista too slow, it's most likely that they have Aero enabled on an old computer.

And complaining about Vista's compatibility with old programs and hardware is stupid. Remember, you can at least run Vista on a computer from 2003. You can't do that with Mac OS X Leopard.

  • just updated... OEM will be released in Q4... this year,,

  • thank god for that number 7, other wise i would have thought they were the same OS.

Funny how they are going to expect people to pay for windows 7 after paying for vista. how long did they said it took them to make vista?? if your gonna copy OSX do it right the 1st time around. God.

  • lol @ Randomkaoz's ridiculous comment. Who cares if 7 LOOKS like Vista. The last couple mac operating systems looked very similar to each other too. What a stupid thing to say.

Mac snobs can die in a fire.

  • Umm....i'm not one of those non pussy getting computer nerds, but if your gonna sell bullshit to a fly, don't you think you should change the look and feel of the OS if your gonna charge people money as if it was a whole new OS?

  • You obviously know nothing about marketing. what good would it do for a company to completely overhaul their product's look and feel after a decade of it's customers building familiarity with the product? The trick is to upgrade the product while keeping the familiarity of it in tact.

Let's use your logic. Mac kept it's latest OS very similar looking to the one before it, yet Mac charged people money for it as a new OS did it not?

Again, Mac snobs can die in a fire. Period.

  • dude seriously, your either bill gates right hand man or left hand chick.

they are charging people 400 bucks for the same crap that was 400 bucks, I was using Mac has a example, they dont charge people a whopping full 400 and sell BS version of the same crap for less. Why should people have to pay for their screw up?

  • Comment removed

  • screw ups do have a big cost....but at least finally they've learnt a lesson...

  • i dont know man, i think this is just some gimic to make themselves extra money, because i dont see why do people have to pay for vista being a failed OS. and on top of that making 4 different verison, like come on, are you serious.

Dont get me wrong vista looks the way XP should have, but to use up that much resources when the Macs OS doesnt is not a good way to shine. vista home basic used up 800% more then XP and for what? the new search bar? lol.

  • Windows Vista was released "as-is" because it was taking too long to correct the errors in OS and get everything working (3 years longer than planned when it was released). Windows 7 fixes those errors and finishes what was suppose to be the Vista released years ago.

Using your line of thinking, if I were to buy a new car every year, I should choose based on color instead of features/mechanics... and every car the same color as the one I currently have is not worth the money.

  • No man the way i'm thinking is that, if your gonna buy a car for 50,000 and it turns out to have a few important recalls, would you be ok with paying 40,000 to fix the recalls and have them throw in a body kit on it. As if it was a whole new car? Thats what windows 7 is. and vista was taking too long?? to who? because i was fine with XP and making codes to change the way it looked when i got bored. if your gonna make something do it right the 1st time. They control 90% of the market, rushing ?

  • MS wanted Vista completed in 3yrs after XPs release. After 5 yrs they felt they were dumping too much money in development and had to recover some of the costs. You could tell it was rushed by everyones reaction when it was released, all the initial driver/software problems, not to mention Vistas half finished GUI. Im still using XP even though I have a copy of Vista, more than happy with it. I agree it was a very bad move on their part, I just think the "body kit" is not what you're paying for.

  • Well the only big improvement seen so far is the multi touch screen feature, but what i can't stand from MS is that, they have the money to be creative and bring these out that no one has ever seen, but they don't. They just keep making BS OS's and spend more time and money making service packs for them. Like windows 7 could have been vista if they took their time and made a true 64bit version using XP's coding. Like how OSX is, it's the same OS just added with things through time.

  • If they take windows 7 and just build off of it, not only would it save money for research but it would make it more possible to have a stable OS. Hopefully this new guy would take windows where steve took apple.

IDK, windows just needs to get their stuff together. Stop making OS's that need super computers to run them and expect the common pc to keep up with it.

  • At least Vista can run old old computers from 2003, but Mac OS X Leopard can't.

You have to keep in mind Vista was designed for modern PC. Also, the thing that slows down most computers with Vista is the Aero interface which can easily be turned off.

Most of the features that some people complained about in Vista can easily be disabled.

I found with the right hardware, Vista runs faster and more efficient than XP.

  • then MS really messed up on their part, because if they would have tackled it differently and brought vista out with all that crap turned off, but say hey look what it can do with these recommend hardware people would have accepted it a lot better. A gamer edition with all that crap turned off, with full customization would have been great. Mac owns their stuff so they get away with that. I guess if MS wasn't so backwards compatible their OS's would be a lot better then they can be.

  • also another thing i think kills windows is that people dont want to buy the monster pc's they want to get these 400 dollar knock offs and expect them to run the latest OS, that's why i think vista home basic should have been just that, really really basic and ultimate for people who can hit the 1,500 and up price tags. I'm just not happy with it being so much of the OSX bite. They need more creative people at windows, look at the 3rd party skins and programs they come up with its amazing.

  • how do you right click with touchscreen?

  • hi anybody... have vista is to bad for slow ram... and its take much space.. is to have program.... windows 7 will be better thant vista..... faster and like userfrindly... like xp

  • all i needed was 4:47 -> end

  • windows 95 was the best

  • Windows 93 RlZ!

  • Windows 7 will be the best.

  • thats what they said about vista...and i have it...it = epic fail...too large and uses too much ram, but i do like how 7 is only like 20 megs?

  • Windows 7 has already proven to be faster than Vista and incredibly stable.

Microsoft just needs to keep it that way and not mess anything up for the RTM version.

  • i guess windows 7 came out a little earlier than late 2009/early 2010!

  • only the beta is out...the beta stops working august 2009 i think

  • I still believe the RTM version will be released in very late 2009/early 2010, most likely early 2010.

  • There was a leaked timeline showing MS planned to release 7 in October 09. You will see it RTM in/before December 09 unless something totally unexpected happens.

  • Windows 2000 was the best ;)

  • É emocionante a evolução *-*

  • what song is this?

  • It's the song used by XP when you first installed it.

You can find it in Windows XP in

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe

Look for the wmv audio file title.wma

  • wow

    so much memories here,

    hmmm, let me see.

    using windows since 3.1 :)

  • i do not see any problem with vista, very few errors if any and it's not slowing the computer down much at all

  • Vista is designed for modern computers. People who complained Vista is slow didn't have the right hardware for it.

  • Vista was a little rushed because Microsoft was try to keep it head to head with Apple. But if they waited a few months, it could have really shined. After SP1 came out for Vista it felt a lot better. I hope Windows seven can bring something new and exiting to the Windows Family.

  • Remember it took until SP2 for XP to become really refined.

SP2 for Vista is coming out any time now. It should really make Vista shine and end all the Vista hate.

  • microsoft is a great company :)
