linux on ps3 will lag alot due to the poor ram and access to the cpu. if you dont want it to lag get a PC. you will have to download the linux version of something to install it

Does anyone know how to fix the screen when running YD Linux in 480i? The top and bottom of the screen often get cut off in certain windows.

This problem keeps me from being able to enable WiFi as the window I use is cut off where I need to click.

Well you might have the wrong bootloader or the disk is dirty. I say download yellow dog 6 get it on torrents or from the yellow dog forum. Bootloader is on the disk with YDL 6

Right you need to get hold of the repos.zip then once you put them in the yum repos folder you will be able to find any software you want I.E Snes and VLC player

there is 9 files you put these in a folder and you will have to find it i think it goes something like this /etc/yumrepos'd it is in your file system hope this helps. there is 3 files in there already overwrite them all

mate you install it on the harddrive it doesn't change anything to do with your ps3 it works as the otherOS its in your settings menu.

you need to change the kernel to get the wireless to work once you have done that when you choose wireless it will say Sony Ethernet 0 thats the device you need

yeah sorted that,and can activate the device but no connection to the net. Are you using WPA-PSK encryption? Firefox browser?

yes it is the ps3 controller but it is wired but works. yes a bit of playing around with it but if you want it you will make it work. it has got it all built in all you have to do is make it work.

i have just installed ydl 5.0 i have videos working full screen and snes good sound and it is easy only thing i have problems with at the mo is wireless and my firmware is 2.10 i didn't think ydl worked anymore but it does

video-lan client is one of the best players for linux or mplayer is good they are the ones i use on YDL and Ubuntu hope that helps you
