I'm thinking about picking this one up... but i just was wondering would i like the story? like is it enjoyable, like for example i really like the dragon quest 9 story would this one interest me?
this game is good but its so hard! i just beat final fantasy 4 advance, and when i started playing this, i noticed the difficulty changes after a bit into the game! you cant buy pheonix downs, you cant save anywhere but the world map and you'll get your asss whooped if dont grind a lot!! and i mean ALOT!!!!

I don't know, I think this game sucks. Now, I'm still playing it, just to get it off my "list", but let me tell you, this game is just brutal. I can understand difficulty, but the lack of ether's, save-points, tents, and job-balancing makes this game more of a nuisance than an enjoyable experience.

@apapalonglong Bzz, Wrong. Sakaguchi didn't work on FFVIII. He didn't like the whole plot and that they were upgrading the graphics. He felt it didn't fit with FF at all. I do think Final Fantasy VII is the best, but IX comes second. Then comes VI, IV and X. The rest is pretty much shit..

I definitely think that FF4 had a much more overall, well, present storyline. What I mean is that you know what the storyline is, and it also reminds you how awesome it is. With FF3, I kinda felt like I was fighting enemies and bosses solely for experience, lol. So, I definitely find FF4 more engaging story wise (and the character's personalities, lol).
while theiw were things to improve upon a better save function and auto battle this is the only game in the series to be ported only once so from a fan standpoint we are lucky to play this game at all as it wasn't seen as a high prority in japan becuz their it was a beloved classic i thought the random encounters were a bit tiring at first but then the final dungeon has no save so you need all the leveling you can get as well as for jobs.
I bought this when it first came out, on day one i mean, and i played from time to time in the period of a week and i don't really understand it, it's a pain knowing what to do when you havent played for a few days, and the random encounters really bores me out, why does it need to happen so god damn often? And besides, it may have been really good for it's time, but i was hoping that the golden sun franchise would continue to grow, because that's the awesomeness of rpg really lies!

I don't know, I think this game sucks. Now, I'm still playing it, just to get it off my "list", but let me tell you, this game is just brutal. I can understand difficulty, but the lack of ether's, save-points, tents, and job-balancing makes this game more of a nuisance than an enjoyable experience.
I would spend at least 1 hour in a dungeon only to die by a normal enemy who apparently, attacks 3 times in a row, killing everyone.
Definitely FFV is the more improved version of this game.

IX. though VII was concidered the best for a few years, IX has in the later time been rediscovered and is now known as the best Final fanatsy game, not only for fans world wide, but the original creator of the nine first games: Hironobu Sakaguchi. though the game seems like a cute n cudly game for fiveyearolds, the games plot takes the game to a whole new level of sorrow and pain. though the sadness of the game it keeps up the positive humour which is why my ratings would be 9.6 hats

@apapalonglong Bzz, Wrong. Sakaguchi didn't work on FFVIII. He didn't like the whole plot and that they were upgrading the graphics. He felt it didn't fit with FF at all. I do think Final Fantasy VII is the best, but IX comes second. Then comes VI, IV and X. The rest is pretty much shit..

I definitely think that FF4 had a much more overall, well, present storyline. What I mean is that you know what the storyline is, and it also reminds you how awesome it is. With FF3, I kinda felt like I was fighting enemies and bosses solely for experience, lol. So, I definitely find FF4 more engaging story wise (and the character's personalities, lol).

while theiw were things to improve upon a better save function and auto battle this is the only game in the series to be ported only once so from a fan standpoint we are lucky to play this game at all as it wasn't seen as a high prority in japan becuz their it was a beloved classic i thought the random encounters were a bit tiring at first but then the final dungeon has no save so you need all the leveling you can get as well as for jobs.

I bought this when it first came out, on day one i mean, and i played from time to time in the period of a week and i don't really understand it, it's a pain knowing what to do when you havent played for a few days, and the random encounters really bores me out, why does it need to happen so god damn often? And besides, it may have been really good for it's time, but i was hoping that the golden sun franchise would continue to grow, because that's the awesomeness of rpg really lies!
