  • @ramitelaviv

Its Selichot (Selichos), the Ashkenazi custom is to pray it on weekdays for about a week before Rosh Hashana, till Yom Kippur, (about 10 times).

The prayers are said either early in the morning or late in the night (past midnight) which is also technically early morning.

It is traditional to start on a Sunday, and for this 1st service to be done at midnight after the Sabbath.

It is usually carried out in a sombre way; Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach infuses it with love, joy & song

  • מה התפילה החגחגית והיפה הזו? לכבוד מה?
