  • where do i buy this part @1:00?

  • Extremely helpful! Thank you so much!!!!

  • @richpin06a I took those off, there was a half inch piece of gray foam blocking it, so I removed that and it works just fine. Where that came from, I have no idea. The passenger vent is still not blowing, I will take a look at that tomorrow. Thanks!

  • Any idea on why my ac blows cold and hard on the driver side and almost no air on passenger side? What do I need to remove to see if a hose has come loose or something? Thanks!

  • @eno3025 Have you tried removing the grill on that side to see if there is a blockage.

  • @eno3025 Weird! same problem here... Exactly.

  • i DONT KNO IF THE MOTOR OR RELAY AND DONT WANT TO MESS UP NUTTIN.

  • @richpin064 do u know how to fix the back windows when they dont go up? dont kno if i said it right but when i press the rear windows to go down. they go down ,but when its time to up it it wont go up. I can hear a motor sound in the window but it seems something holding it back or something. THANKS.

  • @omarG19100 Sounds to me like the motor is week (worn out) and that is why it can not lift the window up.

  • all i need to do is get behind the stereo.....how to i do this?

can you plz tell me or show me a link...

    Thanks!

  • Great video man! I also had a "how to" on instrument cluster removal

    blog.xlire.com/cars/starlet/how-to-remove-a-starlet-gt-instrument-cluster.html

  • @lordancute thank you for sharing

  • BTW: The electrical connectors are difficult if you don't know how they work. The ears on the connector actually need to be pulled outward, not squeezed. Use a screwdriver to push the ears away from the plug using the plug as a base for your screwdriver to pry it. Be careful with the screwdriver because there are ribbons behind the and around the plugs and if you scratch them you will need to replace your cluster or attempt a Macgyver solder.

  • I just did this job after watching the video. The richpin to mortal conversion is about x10 so if he does it in 6 min figure 60 minutes for a mortal. The dealership told me the individual lamps are not serviceable and that you need to replace the cluster. In fact when you remove the cluster not only are the individual lamps simple quarter turn generic lamps, they are even labeled to make replacement easy.

  • @RobertGary1 Who knew there was a x10 conversion .....lol

  • @RobertGary1 Who knew there was a x10 conversion .....lol

  • You make it look so easy. :) I need to replace my MIL lamp. I don't suppose its possible to access the lamp with the dash in place and just removing the glareshield cover.

  • @RobertGary1 The bulbs are replaceable from the back only so the cluster has to come out.

  • i need help big time i have a 95 saturn sc2 automatic its dash lights front light motors and night time rear lights are not working ive checked every fuse in this car i just want to give up on it. please help me. my email is insaneshadowboi@yahoo i dont get on youtube alot so wont c anything on here soon.

  • Rich,

I am trying (in vain) to remove the cluster from my '93 Volvo 940 wagon. I find 2 spring loaded tabs on either side of the inside of the cluster cover, but can't seem to find any way to hold them both (or either) held back so I can pull the thing out, to give me access to the cluster mounting screws Any suggestions?

  • I'm looking at a schematic that shows a Daytime running module. Mine do not turn on, and need to find out where this module is. Saturn dealership thinks its part of the instrument cluster. Please comment. Thanks

  • what year saturn

  • Its a '95 sl1 sedan. The middle connector on the instrument cluster, what does it connect to . Is there a printed circuit board mounted in there? I see green thru a hole. I didn't want to disconnect the plugs, worried about plugging them in and getting all the pin connections to work. Thanks for replying!

  • The DRL Module is in fact mounted in the Instrutment panel. Top center, its about 2" by 2" square. I fulled the trace foil back and gently disconnected the connector. The module i replaced it with, got the DRL lights working but the DRL indicator doesn't seem to want to turn on. i should be able to safety the car now! I took a few photos. Thanks again for the videos!

  • do i really have to take off the stearing wheel? i guess if i want to slide it out hu? Thank you Very much Rich this was extreamly helpful

  • @MatthewRLyons

No, you don't have to remove the steering wheel. However, it is very difficult to clear the steering wheel when removing the cluster. And when you go to put it back in, you stand a very good chance of damaging the odometer reset button.

  • Can you do a video on the front door panel?

  • when you pop the first cover off, where do you pop it off at? I know there are clips holding it, but I could only find the first one on the far left.

Trying to get the odometer/tripometer bulb out for replacement. I might wait until more bulbs go out though before I do.

    1998 SW1 here.

  • my milage lights go off and on..sometimes if i hit the dash board the numbers will fully come on. Should i just clean the connectors in the back? thanks for any help.

  • If it is just those lights your probably looking at a bad bulb.

  • I have the same problem with my saturn!

This video helped me replace that bulb!

  • yea i went to the dealer and they said i have to buy the whole freakin thing not just that bulb

  • your my hero man...haha i've learned how to do everything on my SC from your "how to" vids....thanks

by any chance does anyone know the bulb size on the instrument cluster??

  • Thanks, Rich. I was able to replace a bad bulb in the instrument panel, but it took me an hour to get the cluster out instead of your 6 minutes ;)

A couple notes for anyone else doing this:

The bolts holding the steering column are 13 mm. There's a wiring harness partially blocking the right bolt, so don't use a deep socket, and raise the tilt wheel up all the way up. And don't push the drivers seat all the way back so that the steering wheel has somewhere to land.
