well r15 has a 4 valve engine and pulsar has a 2valve engine which probably means the energy output in the 220 is more being only 2 valves and secondly it always depends on the rider whose riding the bike....this guy must have been a complete douche HELL! I HAVE A R-15 AND I'VE WON AGAINST A 220

This video kind of makes sense.from ym exp.the old220( FI ) starts pulling away from zma after 100kmph+.( may be 220 cAN do it sooner, may be the 220 rider wasn't changing gears at the right time).but i have dragged with so many r15 guys on street.its intial pickup is pathetic ,and if some1 heavy is riding,its even worse.probably r15 wud beat the other 2 if the drag is held on a longer track( 6 gears, and superb aerodynamics).. but for short stints, i feel 220 is unbeatable. i own a zma(2003)
@CHANDRUBS dude, yeah R15 has got lesser pick up for fatter guys..its bcos its got oly 17 PS..a nominal riders weight of 70 shud do the trick..a proper launch wud make P220 go ahead but in corners and turs R15 cmes in..R15 lags standstill pick up..but roll on pick up is just amazing!!
It's not only abt top speed but the truth abt R15, it gives you full performance after 6000 RPM and the best thing anyone can ride at this speed but as far i can say R15 has better control, also karizma but pulsar will not only hate you but throw you off your seat on your ass.
@rajaravivarma26 what i have to do with counterparts when i m getting good mileage and top speed of 130 on my stock p220 even after +2yrs of purchase... and i know yahama is also a very renowned company and its parts used in those bike are made in japan types, but the main thing is, it all depends on how you maintain the bike..

and second reason is i never got chance to attain its top speed and i got 128 with a pillion on gurgaon highway.. and 130 is not the limit, its me who never go beyond that..

i hv got a R15 too havnt seen such a gr8 bike in indian market.p220 has got gr8 pickup but when it gets after 3rd gear r15 has no matches.r15 is much more stable at higher speeds than 220 or karizma .
itspower to weight ratio stock r15 got 144.6ps per tonne compare to p220 fi 133.3 ps per tonne after installing racing kit it gets around 175 ps per tonne around 21ps power guys r15 needs proper start in a drag race once u are through 2nd gear quickly u can beat any bike there is to beat in the market except new 220 being 89 kg rider i manged beat riders below 60 kg and rider weight does matter in a drag race

Weight doesn't effect top speed as much as it effects acceleration, the pulsar has bigger tires = more rolling resistance, and is shorter geared than the R15, perhaps the engine could take a little more if it didn't redline in the top gear. And being aerodynamic, and having less friction does help for top speed way more than being light.

I Own a ZMA( 5.5 yrs old ).. i dragged with a R15, and i had the initial lead until i went to 3rd gear.. but wen i reached 3rd gear r15 started gaining and overtook me... then traffic came up and we cudnt drag further.
Here's the fact. 150cc or 220 hasn't got the thump. Not sure if trying to make the body as small as possible will help to reduce the drag. The bikes will just max out on the revs.
i was gona buy one of these for my brother on its 1st bike but too bad we don have R15 in malaysia we only get the naked version R15 and is called the FZ150i with only 4 speed it really suk ,by the way india should get sum more powerful 150cc bike into their country like the kawasaki Krr-zx150 (the king of 150cc)trust me u love em ,onece u get on of one of these ninja150 ur probaly wont be needing the R15 anymore

This video kind of makes sense.from ym exp.the old220( FI ) starts pulling away from zma after 100kmph+.( may be 220 cAN do it sooner, may be the 220 rider wasn't changing gears at the right time).but i have dragged with so many r15 guys on street.its intial pickup is pathetic ,and if some1 heavy is riding,its even worse.probably r15 wud beat the other 2 if the drag is held on a longer track( 6 gears, and superb aerodynamics).. but for short stints, i feel 220 is unbeatable. i own a zma(2003)

It's not only abt top speed but the truth abt R15, it gives you full performance after 6000 RPM and the best thing anyone can ride at this speed but as far i can say R15 has better control, also karizma but pulsar will not only hate you but throw you off your seat on your ass.

pulsar is high on power but R15 is high on technology....
even if R15 has only 150cc & 17- 18 bhp, but it can give pulsar 220 a strong competition, in spite of its 220cc n 22 bhp...
R15 has better aerodynamics, weight power sync, weight balancing, suspension, structure... etc..etc.
and when it comes racing, "its not about, wat u ride, its about how u ride".

itspower to weight ratio stock r15 got 144.6ps per tonne compare to p220 fi 133.3 ps per tonne after installing racing kit it gets around 175 ps per tonne around 21ps power guys r15 needs proper start in a drag race once u are through 2nd gear quickly u can beat any bike there is to beat in the market except new 220 being 89 kg rider i manged beat riders below 60 kg and rider weight does matter in a drag race

Weight doesn't effect top speed as much as it effects acceleration, the pulsar has bigger tires = more rolling resistance, and is shorter geared than the R15, perhaps the engine could take a little more if it didn't redline in the top gear. And being aerodynamic, and having less friction does help for top speed way more than being light.

I Own a ZMA( 5.5 yrs old ).. i dragged with a R15, and i had the initial lead until i went to 3rd gear.. but wen i reached 3rd gear r15 started gaining and overtook me... then traffic came up and we cudnt drag further.

Here's the fact. 150cc or 220 hasn't got the thump. Not sure if trying to make the body as small as possible will help to reduce the drag. The bikes will just max out on the revs.
