  • @CFAN123 go fuck yourself douche

  • Sangakkara's cover drive is superb.

  • this is a great piece that young lads can come to watch and learn, needless abuse and foul language is not helping.

awesome vid, vaughan is a cover drive master

  • i was just at the nets with my best mate i was trying to learn how to drive because i have a chance in the top side tomorrow and wathcing this got me thinking its my fucking head its not over my knee i mean im balanced alot of the time but when i try to straight drive and my head is centre there is almost no power in the shot and is lofted (great chance of going out) i think i played one cover drive tonight that was perfect with my head over the ball ect ect :) thank you mighael vaughan :)

  • i luv those bats

  • Very nice vid, beautiful driver

  • @harrysonofedwards Yeah without him we would not have won the ashes in 2005

  • @samocricket65 Yes, he will always be credited for leading England to ashes Victory for the first time in nearly 20 years! An extremly important breakthrough. This also lead to Australia's minor demise, loosing to South Africa in Australia and to England again. Other countries now catching up to Australia and overtaking them, including India. This was due partly to Michael Vaughan magnificent abilities as a player and captain.

  • @harrysonofedwards I agree Michael Vaughn was critical in the Ashes win in 2005. But I disagree about it leading to Australia's demise. Australia has lost many greats in that time (Warne, McGrath, Gilchrist etc), that always happens with a dominant team. As soon as the core players leave then they are not as dominant, just like the West Indies back in the 90's. Australia is still fairly strong but we will not see the same dominance in a long time.

  • No-one plays the cover-drive as well as Mohammad Yousuf

  • vaughn had one of the best cover drives IMAO

  • @flobbingdonkey give the dude some respect

  • you dont play any shots like him or else u will end will a shortened career, pivoting on his left leg, swirling lke a girl, looked nice for a while but his stats and fitness say something else. it doesnt matter what u did on thursday, it matters more what did for the rest of the week

  • @goozoo49 I couldnt agree less

  • best cover drive in the game

  • @letissier1 shut the fuck up, Rahul Dravid has the best cover drive in cricket just like Sehwag has best square cut. This guy bats like shit

  • @soom66 ur a fuckstick this guy plays for england his fucking country when ur playing for ur fucking country and cover drive better than vaughan then u can dis him u dumb fuck im australian so i should hate all poms but this guy u have to admit is a fucking good cricket player and when ur better than him then go on about how good u are and how shit he is u stupid fuck

  • @CleanDrop fuck u bitch dumb fag getting ur ass whooped by poms again after loosing to India. listen u dumb pothole even a child playing Galli Cricket in India can play a better cover drive than this moron or even a pull better than that punter. I've played club level cricket back in Bangalore India and even got a chance to play with the The Wall Rahul Dravid at the NCA. The Man is an Emperor of Cover drives just like Sachin for straight drive, Laxman for wristy flicks and Sehwag for square cuts

  • @soom66 and your mum for sucking my sweaty ball sack after i make a tonne?? lol idc how high u played ... ever played for ur country uhhh no... and i aint sayin that them players are shit im just saying there all good and dont say his fucking shit because ur a racist white hating indian or watever u are lol and yeah aus.. is shit atm but oh well every gerat team and legends must come to an end so how about u suck my nut sack and go shove ur head up a donkeys asshole :)

So wanna send ur mum over again for another session of Dundee style fucking. I m gonna grab all the aussie bitches and give them a real pounding, Btw if 1 billion of Indians take a piss whole Aus would be submerged under that cunt

  • @CleanDrop ahh I think most of a team worth retired in the last 3-5 years. Hayden, Langer, Martyn, Gilchrist, Symonds, Mcgrath, Warne, Lee, I think thats all of them? not sure.

  • @CFAN123 yeah thats about all of them altho lee is still in the one day squad lol but yeah shit happens we will get better again just like india will loose tandulka soon (cant spell) and then whos gunna replace that gun? and well i dont know most of the indian players but they will all come to retirement and then wats gunna happen the will end up like australia.... haha

  • @CleanDrop yeah exactly, its just a cycle and australia will be back near the top in a few years time, because of good infrastructure, just like india, though they'll never have another tendulkar. just like aus won't have another mcgrath or warne. It makes me laugh when people make fun of the aussies on here especially from english fans, after getting flogged every ashes just about for 24 years they finally beat us at home and think they are the greatest. lol

  • @CFAN123 yeah but then again cook anderson ect ect altho young will become old an decrepate lol haha and australia we are a young side only going to get better as time goes on and yeah get the ashes bak home next year ;) haha :D

  • @soom66 I'm an aussie fan but, michael vaughan hit 145, 182 and 177 in 2002/03 ashes vs, mcgrath, lee, warne etc.. sounds like shit to me...

  • @soom66 your a joke saying some guy is shit who score 145, 177 and 182 in an ashes series 2002/03 in australia, vs mcgrath, warne, gillespie, and lee. pretty shit aye...

  • @CFAN123 ya he is pretty shit now go fuck ur ass off douche

  • great video...hope it helps

    one love

  • Hahah!, thats funny, the poms win the ashes after 16 years of us kickeing their arses, and suddently their experts.

  • excellent

  • LMFAO AT 1:57

  • Lol HollanderICE

you are possibly the stupidest person i've ever come across, so who gives a fuck if he wasn't a good T20 player? thats not what makes a cricketer and Then you taking one example of him being bowled off a no ball and dropped, lmao? every player in the game has probably had multiple times when they've been dropped etc. and basing your whole argument of him being 'lucky' on one innings is honestly just weak and pathetic of you, stupid T20 product you are.

  • In form this guy was a very very good batsman and english... very few class proven english batsman of recent times as good as Vaughan.

  • ha ha, he's like a squirell that has been raped by a tyre iron, then run over by a truck, scooped up and put in the bin and had a cricket bat sticky taped to him, and then they said, 'we will call this Micheal Vaughn'

  • Vaughn is an awful mess of a cricketer, usless and boring as sh!t, he could have turned a 20twenty into a snooze fest, that 160 odd in oz he was caught in the deep but refused to walk, and the innings in old trafford he was bowled off a no-ball, on 0 then dropped in the slips on 40, just pure luck. Him being on masterclass is like letting a retarted chimpanzee with 1 hand teach brain surgery

  • i dnt see u in the big league

  • @hey2008hey85 that because hes retired.

  • @HollanderICE who the fuk r u mate his cover drive is the best in thegam whos else is better????

  • Umm his is pretty damn good but I always though Justin Langer had the most pure cover drive in the game

  • @HollanderICE this is what 20 20 has done to the game, given us cunts like this!!

  • not too sure i actually said i liked the t20 format, i just used at as a comparison that micheal vaughn was such a dull, useless, boring batter that just waited.. and i mean WAITED to hit the bad balls, that he would be boring in 20 20. it's like saying mr smith makes oprah look thin, i don't like oprah, just using her for a comparison

  • i never saw this guy scoring a 50.

always saw him getting owned by bowlers. honestly. show me a significant match that meant something where he actually performed!???

  • his knee was a problem by 21 he had 3 knee recoz. But he still played well whn he was criticised watch his 180 at scg or his 166 at old trafford against oz. But his captanicy was perhaps one of the best go google vid and search 166 michael vaughan coz its been deleted on youtube. One reason why he played well against oz and windies was his good at the hitting the off cutter. He is one of englands best players of all time and the most successful captain he is named in englands all time 11

  • He wasn't able to keep up his batting once he became captain, but he was the number 1 batsman in the world when he took over in 2003.

  • tht happened to steve as well. But vaughan still found form against the west indies and that magnificant 166 against aus in 2005

  • I remember that 166 - I was on the beach and I was the only one there with a radio, so had about 40 blokes gathered around me. Never felt so popular in my life.

  • wowi was overseas at that time he scored 166 Steve Waugh has a major slump when he was captain 2. But against the west indies and australia and india were really the only teams he performed well as a batsman. Against the windies he was so consistent. I found out why coz his defence deteriorated coz of his knee so he couldnt blok the balls right and countries like SA and pakistan bowl the seamers alot so its harder for him to hit the face of the ball and execute the cover drive

  • His batting performance dipped when he was made captain.

Before he was made captain, I believe he was averaging just over 50. Batting suffered under captaincy.

Great captain, more than made up for his worse batting when he was made captain.

  • @Sendo911 in 2002/03 ashes in aus he score 145, 182 and 177 vs mcgrath, lee, warne, clarke etc..

  • he was a fantastic captain

its a shame he has retired

  • Vaughan was a fine batsmen, how can you say that 'hollanderICE' twat!

  • i dnt see the point on watchin the video cos he cnt make 5 runs in 2 innings the way he batted the last prt of his career

  • im afraid that is bullshit. u go and hit runs against an australian side boastin warne mcgrath lee and an in-prime gillespie. oh and in front of 20000 screaming aussies. HollanderICE......fuck off

  • seriously kids, if you want to learn how to bat don't listen to this wheelie bin cricketer. vaughan doesn't know the difference between offstump and a gatorade bottle.

  • Vandamme77

    No that's a cut shot

  • i play there

  • Isn't Michael playing a straight drive than a cover drive? if I am not mistaken when you play the cover drive bat comes horizontally and place the ball through covers, where he plays the ball to long off.

  • if its not too straight then its cover drive :D

  • he says he follows through , but he actuli duznt

  • Comment removed

  • the guys who comment something .that they r awaking of knowledge....and i thing i saw a nice tip from them

  • Please put the other videos on too, they're too small to see properly on the microsite.

  • What are you on about 'finished his batting career' Do you really think that's it for him! Have you been watching England's cricket lately? Have you been watching Micheal's batting lately? He even said he wants to play for England again!

  • Vaughan finished his test career with a poor defence. A true great. Batting techniques all vary slightly for everyone's physical and mental side. Clive Radley awful stance fine player though and magnificent coach. The England batsmen need better defences and stronger minds. Bell is prime example of both elements missing from his game right now.

  • shotttttttttt

  • class when playing well and a great cover drive but i would like to point out that mark nicolas is chatting shit because vaughan never follows through a cover drive with the bat above his shoulder

  • true, but start of the vid he does it lol

  • Vaughan is a class act. Yes his form with the bat since 2005 or so has been patchy to say the least, but too many people (including the press and media pundits) forget about the amount of time he's spent out of the game with serious knee injuries. He was made such a scapegoat in 2007 by the media after the 2006/7 Ashes debacle, and Moores' treatment of him was shameful. England are a far weaker outfit without him involved. Fact.

  • agreed , great comment

  • Hear Hear.

  • on an additional note away from the video, i miss this guy so much.Stylish, textbook, pretty batsman.TECHNICAL TACTICUL clever intelligent player and captain. So he may not be as brash and in your face (perhaps even entertaining) as the pietersens, flintoffs, brett lees, steyns, symonds etc etc. but he remains an integral part to a team AND to cricket. to cut it short- i love 20/20, but a test match is the real deal. That is where you get to see players, such as vaughan, really shine- entertainment!

  • this batsman really suck. he can look stylish but cant score runs

  • give him time. every great player goes through a drought- and vaughan is certainly up there. rated top batsman 2002/2003.

and steering away from the point, i never was too excited to see pietersen as captain (and hes done a fine job) but duncan fletcher was right about making him captain. im sorry but geoffrey boycotts opinions cannot be taken that seriously

  • i reckon if england are going to be a good team michael vaughan has to be in the team weather hes captain or not. he is a smart cricketer and can provide assistance and experience to pietersen and i agree with jibs36 in training a batsman as a keeper because there arnt any good keeper batsmen in england that are close to the likes of dhoni or gilchrist. it would be an exellent line up cook strauss vaughan bell pietersen collingwood flintoff. maybe vaughan would be an ok keeper

  • lol a keeper!

  • He sure is very special and very stylish

  • i am not a english but i respect him a lot... great player... i hope he will back soon...

  • heel be back - we should train up a batsman e.g Ian Bell or Paul Collingwood as a wicket keeper and insert michael vaughn as no.3 instead of having all this crap about who should be wickie, if their gunna have a poper wickie i think they should have James Foster

  • Great player, makes you proud to have an English heritage.

  • great crickter great captain shame hes resigned

  • The last clip shows him with a bend back leg and his head all the way back!

Watchig him bat in form is one of the more beautiful things to behold.

  • He's not a shit cricketer. Being England cricket captain is harder than say England football captain. Many England cricket captains have suffered bad form during captaincy. He has been one of the finest captains we've had. His record speaks for itself. He's a credit to the game. Not once in five years has there been any controversy involving Michael Vaughan. I thought his press conference today was honest and I felt he was honoured to have led the national team. Be proud Michael, be very proud.

  • I think back to the time when Nasser Hussain made a similar press conference: it only seems like yesterdaY: I know I am showing my age here. Today when Vaughan broke down: my heart went out for him.

Mike Atherton's book also tells a story which seems to be reenacted today

  • great captain y did he step down

  • great shot great captin shame he's not more consistant

  • great captain shit cricketer

  • On the one where Mark Nicholas was talking about the follow-through Michael Vaughan didn't! He checked it!! Even now, out of form, his cover drive is still one of the best in England.

  • another shit innings from this old man, hes a bum get him out

  • personally think mike hussey's cover drive is just as good.

  • sweet

  • i am one of vaughans greatest fans but can i jsut say

when he shows us a demonstartion of the shot

he hits it in the air

  • he doesn't. its just cos he's indoors the ball bounces off the hard floor. he struck it perfectly.

  • Great shot thanks

  • sachin plays the cover drive magnificently...so does ganguly...although ganguly kinda plays it squarer

  • may be.... BUT KUMAR SANGAKKARA IS THE MASTER OF COVER DRIVE . AND ITS THE SIGNATURE SHOT OF HIS.. EVEN RAVI SHASTHRI AND SANJAY MANJARIKAR KNOWS THAT THEY USED TO SAY THAT.. KUMAR IS THE WORLD BEST TEST BASTMAN NOWADAYS.; GO TO ICC RANKINGS IF UR NOT SURE...AND LISTEN TO COMMENTATORS WHILE KUMAR IS BATTING..

  • does anyone know the song in the background??

  • Please get cricket back onto Terrestial TV. I miss this kind of stuff.

  • Please search for "Young little master" and find a kid whos really awesome. see both the videos to find the future little master.

  • Absolutly! cant believe they took it off in first place it would have been a disgrace in Oz why not here??

  • baseball is just swinging at a shitty ball.

cricket requires skill, patience, endurance, power and has more to offer than shitty baseball

  • if thats tru than u would be playing it every day bitch

  • baseball is nowhere near cricket

  • no cricket the best sport in the world lol u fuckin dickass dont even talk

  • this guy is quality when in form one of the best batsmen in the game but at the moment sankarkara looks hard to stop !

  • vaughan is the best player of the cover drive in my opinion

  • i think..I.Bell and M.Yousuf are da best cover drivers...

  • i totally agree..but dude i was talking about RIGHT HANDED BATSMAN..

  • this suks

  • there are few more beautiful cover drives in the game than vaughan.

  • legend best shot in the book! the cover drive

  • just one word needed 'glorious'

  • great stuff from vaughan

  • Excellent video, Michael Vaughan is a superb exponent of the cover drive.

  • Yea, what is that song in the background?

  • top idea to mark yourself out of ten

  • Technically IMO the best bat in the world.

  • Beautiful shot. I want to see the drive he played in the test match against India this year. The commentators analysed the shot.

Vaughan is such a good captain. His knowledge and fielding placements are brilliant. He has elegant, textbook orthodox batting. Clever cricket brain. Not to mention he bowls a decent off-break too.

    VAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGHHNNYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! VAAAAAAAAAUGGHHNNNYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No one better to show you, one of the best players of the cover drive in the world.

  • anybody know what guitar song that is playing in the background?
