  • AZ FTW!!!

  • God your voice could kill a cow

  • God is busy. May I help you my dear? Please do not mistake my sarcasm for bitchyitous. I do enjoy constructive critisism. If I killed a cow I might have you over for a nice barbecue. Is med-well good for you?

  • Just FYI the Yearning For Zion Ranch is in Texas, not Arizona and Willie Jessop is not the Prophet or leader of the people.

  • My mistake on the first part. Now where did I get AZ from? Az City? IDK.... I mixed up the factoids. I did read online that Willie Jessop was considered the prophet... but then again, my source should have been considered. ;o)

  • Arizona is where the main body of FLDS is located, that's probably where you got that from.

Willie Jessop has been the spokesperson but has never been the leader of the people. I believe Warren Jeffs is still the leader and will be until his death.

  • Jeffs.. is that the guy who's still in police custody for alleged polygamy? Ahhh HA!

  • No, he's been convicted for rape as an accomplice and is serving time. The irony of the case is that they convicted him before they even arrested the alleged rapist. . . so they convicted the accomplice before the actual rapist - and if you watched the case live like I did you would get a feeling for the "victim". She was completely full of bullshit and was never raped as far as I could tell.

  • I did not hear or see any part of the news/case while it was occuring, or thereafter. I only happened to cathch it on Oprah. It intuiigued me. Thank you for all your information. It's homework time!

    ;o)

  • Imagine not playing Curby as a child?

you have to teach what is fun to a child you could teach a child that the game of chess is fun and we know it is not, I know children here that are not religious and love working with amimals and working the garden for winter food and as it was taught they find it fun they know no different, law does not say fun has to be fast food and hopscotch and films

but i perfer the council estate upbringing

    SPRINKLES

  • Great points! What do we define as fun? Religion may or may not be an influence. It differs for all of us! I prefer the council upbringing too. I mostly grew up on estates. I could not imagine never knowing curby! This topic has got my brain reeling!

  • Ain't brainwashing wonderful?

  • Shaw iz! I am still shaking my head. That Mr. Jessop is quite a character! He comes of very charming and happy.... like all other cult leaders. Then again, that is only my opinion.

  • Great Video Sarah.... with me living in utah I see this more than I like to say

  • You do? Intriguing! Do you consider it brainwashing?

  • yes I do, it happens more than you see

  • I feel properly smothered now. Im gonna make a vlogsponge, I saw the video earlier.

Fun is all that keeps me going some days, thats why I watch as much youtube as I do. You never fail to provide a smile:-)

I would love to help you understand why someone would force thier family to live like that, but I dont know how they do it and sleep at night.

  • Isn't the vlog sponge the most awesome vlog invention EVER?

Even when I am a bitch, you laugh at me. It keeps me grounded!

It doesn't seem forced. It seems a learneded behaviour and the kids seem okay with that. I can't sleep at night if I don't incorporate something smiley in my day. I don't like to go to bed pissy or upset.

  • I was going to say the same thing, Im 34 and I still play like a kid whenever I can..I sure do.

I think they do want to have fun, but are probally brain washed into believing that God will punish them or something like that..sad. IPOD & Cell phone, and a rake?

  • Yes, and a rake! LMAO! I can't wear my Mp3 player when raking because I may accidenally strangle myself. I love to play and infact feel guilty when I need a break

  • Totally agree with you on this one. Hmm ipods and cell phones but no fun. Interesting.

  • It certainly is one to wrap my head around!

  • to play the devil's advocate: you were raised in a way that recognizes/teaches fun vs. work. if you were not taught what work/play was then you might feel quite different. i think you have to look very closesly at the society/rules/traditions that they were raised in.

hope this helps, my brain isn't all here today.

  • This is what I was looking for. Debate.I don't disagree. I just can't undertand how this happens. It really intrigues me that one can be taught to only be happy when productive or growing!
