Honda Accord in my opinion remain one of the most reliable car on the road. As the completion with the family sedans in the tough crowd, honda accord remain very reliable. Both 4-cyl and V6 engine are still more refined and fuel efficient than most of the companies. Even though that Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, and Chevy Malibu are impressive on their own, the accord is still a standout.
I was gonna buy one after driving my cousins 03 accord coupe but realized the current one needs better sound insulation, handling and less heavy feel.
I'm keeping my 2000 Accord forever. I seam-welded the body, installed a Type R seats, Japan-spec Accord-R H22 engine, coil-over suspension and 320mm 6-pot front brakes. I love it. I think the 2008 is ugly. The 2009 model looks much, much better, elegant, regal and sporty but it's about 250 lbs heavier than the 2000-model. Still, a better choice than a Camry or a more expensive Eurocar model, IMO.
I think I got the dud Honda out of the bunch. Had less then 1 mile when I drove it off the lot. My 2010 Honda accord uses oil from day one. Little over 12,000 miles on it and still uses around a half quart between changes. The brakes squeak and are noisy. Would have went with a Ford or Chevrolet vehicle knowing this.
Honda's are awesome cars because there so dam reliable. It must be a great feeling owning such a reliable car. Wish I could afford one myself. Would be a honour to watch my children grow up while still owning the same car. Imagine all the family holidays and fun times you could have. And when the other cars of the same age are in the scrapyard in the sky your still have your trusty old Honda. and all your old memories.
i got a 2010 with the 4 cyl . This car is a true family car . It just does what its made to do , get from a to b ,without calling attention to it self . And its a big car ! 25 TO 30 MPG.
Honda Accord 2.0 with 156hp and maximum torque of 189Nm at 4300rpm costs around RM145k in price range; it has the biggest body and most sophisticated suspension of the three. Although it’s bigger, heavier and least powerful than Sonata, it has a better fuel consumption and not as slow as Sonata in acceleration due to its SOHC engine together with a 5 speed auto transmission.
Honda accord is one of the most brilliant cars designed. It's power is good for a v6 and 4 cylinder. It's interior has great comfort not to mention it's size. Not only that its only 21,000 which is a great deal. You guys say its a boring car well sorry were not fucking rollin in lamborghini's i mean really who gives a shit of what you think. @Damnyou88 Mazda 6 is just for rather younger people, it's no big deal. Ur lucky that you can get accord with $24000. In my country, Honda Accord 2.4 liter is fucking US$51000, Honda Accord 3.5 liter V6 is US$72000. But A lot of people buy it because it looks like a businessman own that car.
@Damnyou88 why would one need a 'blind spot monitor' on this car? it's not huge, and there IS such a thing as MIRRORS. LOL. c'mon, man, that's for a larger car and people who like technology even when it's not needed.

Accord clients are mainly boring people and soccer moms, so please define in which category you are!
Its ugly and it looks like it came out of some Japanese animation movie, and its dashboard is the worst I have seen so far, and boy I have driven so many cars of all types.
Honda should simply stop copying BMW designs and make its Accord designers work for their money! Park "the thing you call beauty" side by side next to a 2009 BMW 5 series and see how Honda shamelessly copied BMW design.
@JeremyFuhenstasser exactly...the bmw 5 (and most others but the 3 series) are actually pieces of shyt. AT BEST they have 'mediocre' reliability. even the ford fusion has excellent. so does the honda accord and toyota camry.
if one just LOVES bmw and has to have it, fine, but they're paying $15,000 to $30,000 more for a car with lower quality and less reliability. wait, you get to say you own a bmw...and that's worth 'something' i suppose. LOL
I used to be a huge Honda fan, but sadly not anymore. NOT ONE current Honda appeals to a younger generation, or me. All current Hondas are big, slow, Buick-like boats with the new Accord being the king. Honda has successfully killed off everyone of their sporty, fun to drive cars to satisfy mom and pops who love giant land yachts. The Civic Si is all that remains but if you ask me, that's not a sports car. It's heavy (1/4 in 15.7), and underpowered. HONDA, you FAIL!
Not only Honda, but Acura as well. And the biggest FAIL,was when they discontinued the Acura RSX,which was one of the best made cars they had! Even the TSX has gained weight! And back when the TSX fist came to the US, Honda motor company said they never planned to put a V6 in the TSX.
I was recently at an Acura Dealership, and asked them whey did Honda/Acura stopped making they RSX,he replied and said that Honda wanted Acura to be more luxury than sport.Looks like Honda is the same too.SMH!
HAH! I own a RSX-s and love it. Two of my car/Honda buddies recently bought 2 Mustang GTs. A 2005 and a 07. I guess Ford, Hyundai, and Nissan will picking up the tabs on stranded ex-Honda car enthusiasts from now on. Even the new 2010 Buick Lacross comes with a sporty 6 speed trans. I guess Honda and Buick swapped places in the market.
Yeah,I been meaning to check one out with a manual trans.I like the older model with the 4 cylinder. The one they have now is okbut just not feeling the new grille too much. That's just me.
@sdlausen honda is giving americans what they want... a bigger, more powerful car. the honda accord is a FAMILY CAR and has FOUR DOORS, and for people that can AFFORD the car and the family. young people usually can't afford either.
as far as 1/4 mile or 0-60 time, if its under 8 seconds, so what? most accord/fusion/four door buyers aren't RACING their cars. when you plunk down $30,000 plus for a car, you TEND to take care of it, not abuse it.
@neoconsnightmare3 The point of my argument is that Honda no longer has the spirit of the 90s. They have killed of the R badge and fun factor out of their cars. If you haven't noticed, every car company has a halo/sports car for those who want it. Where is Hondas? I'm 28 and I still love the spirit Honda had in the 90s. I love driving spiritedly and having fun with my cars. Honda no longer offers this to it's customers. If they don't do something about it, Hyundai will bite them in the ass.
@sdlausen i understand what you're getting at, but honda is selling quite well, and is always a 'best buy', particularly the accord.
toyota doesnt have a 'halo' or sports car.
hundai doesn't really have any 'sports' car. they have what works for them, which pretty much is knock offs of toyota and honda, the 'big sellers'.
in fact of the japanese manufacturers, only subaru and mazda have 'sports' sedans. mazda's quality isn't up there with honda and accord. people buy honda and toyota.
@neoconsnightmare3 Now you're wrong in pretty much everything you've just stated. Toyota sports cars: LFA, IS-F, and a new AE86 coming out within a year. Toyota doesn't have the best lineup, but they have something. Honda sales have actually dipped about 4% and undoubtedly will continue to fall with their bad lineup. Just look at the rolling conundrum they are coming out with, the CR-Z. Hyundai has the Genesis, not much, but something. They also have a sport hatch coming out, the Veloster.
@sdlausen nope, i'm pretty correct. honda sales are still solid, because they sell to their market. their market no longer wants to race. as far as the toyota is-f, correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that a LEXUS? if so, honda is bringing BACK their 'sports car' that was under the ACURA name...the lfa is also a lexus, not under the toyota name.
the 'new' ae86, from what i just read, is still concept and 'in the future'. if it comes to pass, good. if someone buys it, better.
@sdlausen now you mention the hyundai genesis, the coupe, but it's engine, though 'peppy' isn't really much of a sports car...it's a sports COUPE.
all that to say this...if you want an AFFORDABLE coupe for kicks, there are plenty of car manufacturers that currently have that. lexus is too expensive a toyota for that.
but honda is making plenty of well built, well bought sedans in large and small fashion for THEIR TARGET MARKET...same as toyota. no need to change what works.
@neoconsnightmare3 I pretty much still disagree with everything you're saying. I'm 28 and think Honda is ridiculously boring and unattractive. This is coming from a current RSXs and previous Honda owner. Honda is pretty much the new Buick. As a repeat customer, they've lost me. As much as I don't like it, Hyundai will take over Honda in sales/volume pretty soon. Ford is my next choice.
FYI, I know you know Toyota is Lexus. So in my opinion, the LFA and ISF is Toyota.
@sdlausen it's your right to disagree with me on our opinions. we're at different stages in life (i'm married, have a little girl on the way, and don't 'race' my $30K plus car). I do four doors, you do two.
But facts are facts, and the Hondas (not Acuras) are actually 'more sporty' than their Toyota counterparts (for instance, any reviewer will say the Accord gives more road feel than the Camry...once described as the 'Walmart of Midsized Cars" by Car and Driver Magazine).
@sdlausen and, if you're going to go to Lexus as being a Toyota, Acura TL is pretty much seen as 'sportier' than the Lexus ES. In fact, up and down the sedan line, Lexus is seen as 'old school luxury' where Acura is seen as 'sporty'. Acura is even getting an 8 cyl for the RL flagship. Both are giving their target markets what they want. Acura is even bringing back a top line coupe in two years.
And I'm a fan of what Hyundai has done, but no hint they'll overtake honda any time soon.
@sdlausen How can you say that? When you say "younger generation," like what age are you talking about? I live in Miami, and all you see driving civic coupes are teens!! And sporty? Have you seen the accord coupe? It is "the" car for successful young professionals and it's sexy as hell. Cant get any more sport than the accord coupe!!
I totally disagree with honda being the new buick. (Speaking of, have you SEEN the new buicks? Hello they are HOT, look at the LaCrosse)
@sceptember If you think a 3500 lbs front wheel drive Honda Accord coupe is sporty, there is something wrong with you. It may look good, but there is NOTHING sporty about it. Honda has nothing available for car enthusiasts. Honda used to be all about driving excitement. They had the integra R, NSX, S2000 etc. Now nothing spirited is in their line up, except the Accord Coupe which for some reason you consider sporty. Buick is offering some nice models, but they still don't have anything sporty.
Seriously. Did the Accord win most boring car in it's segment? Both the Camry and Accord make me ,ZZZzzzzzz... wait, waht, Oyeah that right the Accord is boring..
They both are. There are, other companies that have sedans that are not boring.Like the Mazda 6,maybe Nissan Altima? Guess Honda and Toyota wanna target their buyers to be over 60 now! Looks like people will have to also spend more money and start buying European cars like BMW,Audi,Volkswagen, and various others for more sport sedan, than just a grocery getter,or family car!
I'm sorry this car is really boring. now thay have that slap of ugly plastic chrome it is even worse. but I have to say the engine in this car is great.
Honda Accord in my opinion remain one of the most reliable car on the road. As the completion with the family sedans in the tough crowd, honda accord remain very reliable. Both 4-cyl and V6 engine are still more refined and fuel efficient than most of the companies.

Best family sedan? Sorry, NO. The best is BMW 5er.
5Qu1Z33r 2 years ago
@5Qu1Z33r
That's a luxury car that's over 50 grand and not a family car.
JeremyFuhenstasser 1 year ago
@JeremyFuhenstasser Not a family car? Tell that to Tiff Needell :) And it starts at 44.500
5Qu1Z33r 1 year ago
@5Qu1Z33r
SUVs and trucks are all technically cars. This car just happens to be a sedan. BMW 5 series is the best family car? I don't think so.
JeremyFuhenstasser 1 year ago
@JeremyFuhenstasser Do you know who Tiff is? Anyway, i'm not changing my BMW M5 anytime soon, and i've driven a crap load of sedans :)
5Qu1Z33r 1 year ago

BTW, the fusion is BETTER.
sdlausen 2 years ago
Not only Honda, but Acura as well. And the biggest FAIL,was when they discontinued the Acura RSX,which was one of the best made cars they had! Even the TSX has gained weight! And back when the TSX fist came to the US, Honda motor company said they never planned to put a V6 in the TSX.
I was recently at an Acura Dealership, and asked them whey did Honda/Acura stopped making they RSX,he replied and said that Honda wanted Acura to be more luxury than sport.Looks like Honda is the same too.SMH!
datkoolbrutha 2 years ago
Once again Honda currently ='s FAIL!!!
sdlausen 2 years ago
It's just sad though.Maybe Honda will learn, maybe not.Only time will tell!
datkoolbrutha 2 years ago
@datkoolbrutha Have you even rode in the new TSX? Their little I-4 engines have a lot more power than people think and it's real fun to drive.
DeadofWinter321 2 years ago
Yeah,I been meaning to check one out with a manual trans.I like the older model with the 4 cylinder. The one they have now is okbut just not feeling the new grille too much. That's just me.
datkoolbrutha 2 years ago
@sdlausen honda is giving americans what they want... a bigger, more powerful car. the honda accord is a FAMILY CAR and has FOUR DOORS, and for people that can AFFORD the car and the family. young people usually can't afford either.
as far as 1/4 mile or 0-60 time, if its under 8 seconds, so what? most accord/fusion/four door buyers aren't RACING their cars. when you plunk down $30,000 plus for a car, you TEND to take care of it, not abuse it.
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@neoconsnightmare3 The point of my argument is that Honda no longer has the spirit of the 90s. They have killed of the R badge and fun factor out of their cars. If you haven't noticed, every car company has a halo/sports car for those who want it. Where is Hondas? I'm 28 and I still love the spirit Honda had in the 90s. I love driving spiritedly and having fun with my cars. Honda no longer offers this to it's customers. If they don't do something about it, Hyundai will bite them in the ass.
sdlausen 1 year ago
@sdlausen i understand what you're getting at, but honda is selling quite well, and is always a 'best buy', particularly the accord.
toyota doesnt have a 'halo' or sports car.
hundai doesn't really have any 'sports' car. they have what works for them, which pretty much is knock offs of toyota and honda, the 'big sellers'.
in fact of the japanese manufacturers, only subaru and mazda have 'sports' sedans. mazda's quality isn't up there with honda and accord. people buy honda and toyota.
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@neoconsnightmare3 Now you're wrong in pretty much everything you've just stated. Toyota sports cars: LFA, IS-F, and a new AE86 coming out within a year. Toyota doesn't have the best lineup, but they have something. Honda sales have actually dipped about 4% and undoubtedly will continue to fall with their bad lineup. Just look at the rolling conundrum they are coming out with, the CR-Z. Hyundai has the Genesis, not much, but something. They also have a sport hatch coming out, the Veloster.
sdlausen 1 year ago
@sdlausen nope, i'm pretty correct. honda sales are still solid, because they sell to their market. their market no longer wants to race. as far as the toyota is-f, correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that a LEXUS? if so, honda is bringing BACK their 'sports car' that was under the ACURA name...the lfa is also a lexus, not under the toyota name.
the 'new' ae86, from what i just read, is still concept and 'in the future'. if it comes to pass, good. if someone buys it, better.
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@sdlausen now you mention the hyundai genesis, the coupe, but it's engine, though 'peppy' isn't really much of a sports car...it's a sports COUPE.
all that to say this...if you want an AFFORDABLE coupe for kicks, there are plenty of car manufacturers that currently have that. lexus is too expensive a toyota for that.
but honda is making plenty of well built, well bought sedans in large and small fashion for THEIR TARGET MARKET...same as toyota. no need to change what works.
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@neoconsnightmare3 I pretty much still disagree with everything you're saying. I'm 28 and think Honda is ridiculously boring and unattractive. This is coming from a current RSXs and previous Honda owner. Honda is pretty much the new Buick. As a repeat customer, they've lost me. As much as I don't like it, Hyundai will take over Honda in sales/volume pretty soon. Ford is my next choice.
FYI, I know you know Toyota is Lexus. So in my opinion, the LFA and ISF is Toyota.
sdlausen 1 year ago
@sdlausen it's your right to disagree with me on our opinions. we're at different stages in life (i'm married, have a little girl on the way, and don't 'race' my $30K plus car). I do four doors, you do two.
But facts are facts, and the Hondas (not Acuras) are actually 'more sporty' than their Toyota counterparts (for instance, any reviewer will say the Accord gives more road feel than the Camry...once described as the 'Walmart of Midsized Cars" by Car and Driver Magazine).
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@sdlausen and, if you're going to go to Lexus as being a Toyota, Acura TL is pretty much seen as 'sportier' than the Lexus ES. In fact, up and down the sedan line, Lexus is seen as 'old school luxury' where Acura is seen as 'sporty'. Acura is even getting an 8 cyl for the RL flagship. Both are giving their target markets what they want. Acura is even bringing back a top line coupe in two years.
And I'm a fan of what Hyundai has done, but no hint they'll overtake honda any time soon.
neoconsnightmare3 1 year ago
@sdlausen How can you say that? When you say "younger generation," like what age are you talking about? I live in Miami, and all you see driving civic coupes are teens!! And sporty? Have you seen the accord coupe? It is "the" car for successful young professionals and it's sexy as hell. Cant get any more sport than the accord coupe!!
I totally disagree with honda being the new buick. (Speaking of, have you SEEN the new buicks? Hello they are HOT, look at the LaCrosse)
sceptember 1 year ago
@sceptember If you think a 3500 lbs front wheel drive Honda Accord coupe is sporty, there is something wrong with you. It may look good, but there is NOTHING sporty about it. Honda has nothing available for car enthusiasts. Honda used to be all about driving excitement. They had the integra R, NSX, S2000 etc. Now nothing spirited is in their line up, except the Accord Coupe which for some reason you consider sporty. Buick is offering some nice models, but they still don't have anything sporty.

Seriously. Did the Accord win most boring car in it's segment? Both the Camry and Accord make me ,ZZZzzzzzz... wait, waht, Oyeah that right the Accord is boring..
cerebraldamage 2 years ago 2
They both are. There are, other companies that have sedans that are not boring.Like the Mazda 6,maybe Nissan Altima? Guess Honda and Toyota wanna target their buyers to be over 60 now! Looks like people will have to also spend more money and start buying European cars like BMW,Audi,Volkswagen, and various others for more sport sedan, than just a grocery getter,or family car!

I'm sorry this car is really boring. now thay have that slap of ugly plastic chrome it is even worse. but I have to say the engine in this car is great.
