@native75 - Seriously? This is, in my opinion, the sickest sounding M3. I6 from the front, V8 from the back. Please sell the design to magnaflow or supersprint, make lots of money, and let's us M3 owners have this sound.

@ccline84 i bought ebay headers, no cats just plugged in both sensors on each got no check engine light, stock midpipes, and ebay mufflers, headers had a few fitment problems but not bad, mufflers fit perfect, sounds just like that and it is really loud, wakes up neighbors

I have never heard an m3 with such a deep tone to it I would be real curious to take a look at those custom headers that you built???? You say step headers did you step them smaller as they leave the head to keep the same back pressure because as air cools as it contracts???? Thats a sweet sounding m3 it would by nice to see and hear you do a pull through a few gears on a track or back road!

umm headers, will make it rasp like crazy, your gonna need to put 2 resonators in your section1, and search there are vids on here

I have a question... i admit i don't know much about exhaust systems.... if i would install such headers, such as supersprint stepped headers or AA headers combined with a exhaust, could it be possible to pass the annual smog test? is it street legal ? I read on the Active Autewerks site its only for offroad use... just wondering how could i pair headers and exhaust system and still be able to keep the plates...

Nothing american about it, its a 6 cylinder and thats what it sounds like with this exhaust. Its not a 8cyl but the fact that it sounds like one should impress you unless your the 1 percent that doesnt like a balsy engine sound. You sound like another ignorant American hater.

was it the headers alone that gave it the distinct sound or was it headers combined with section 1 & 2. i have ebay headers and straight-piped section 2 but it doesnt sound anything like that. good job.

This was a one-off custom fabrication. Many, many M3 owners begged for a batch of these heads to be made. There was money to be made, for sure. But the designer never could (or would) come through. It's too bad. It's the best aftermarket M3 exhaust by far.

Are those the Active Autowerke headers cause their like the only ones Ive seen for the e46 lately I could be wroung. I heard you have to only use them on the track or something like that but who cares they give you that pulling feeling when you step on the gas =) lol.
