  • Na moral, The Doors muito melhor!

  • Not for nothing English people but fuck the Beatles, the Doors were better

  • Divine. Love you Simon.

  • How could this be from Thank You? Duran Duran released it in 1995.....

  • @AmericanRailroads They performed it here, and decided to include it on Thank You.

  • not bad vocal but I hate that chorus pedal affect on the guitar. Sounds so tinny and cold. If the guitar sounded better it wouldn't have been a bad performance.

  • no one is ever going to sing this song as well as jim, but who cares? songs are made to be sung and enjoyed by everyone, im happy other bands are singing jims songs, in fact i wish bands would do it more often

  • A heart-felt effort. I like how Simon pays tribute to Jim at the end for this great song. :)

  • I think this is good. Really good. The album version is better. But, his voice matches the album well. I listened to both the original and this cover back to back and they sound almost exactly alike. In the album, they play it straight, so listen to that before you crit the live version. Compare those. Still, very good for the live. Huge DD and Doors fan btw.

  • I normally don't like Duran Duran, and then I saw The Crytal Ship and I wanted to see how this was gonna be... I was going to troll, but this is pretty good. Not even close to touching The Doors, but kudos.

  • Jim Morrison is probably having a duet with Frank Sinatra in heaven right now

  • I see that this song is quite polarizing. I have to say that Simon does a pretty extraordinary job channeling Jim Morrison. I do think that classics have to be approached with caution, but in my opinion, Simon's performance is pretty amazing!

  • Both a Doors fan and a Duran fan....I'm kind of mixed on the cover to be honest. It's one of the better Crystal Ship covers for sure, but I've never been keen on them trying to tackle this particular Doors song. It's one of those songs that's really best left alone as a Doors classic.

  • look out !!!

  • AMEI esta versão! Show: Duran Duran - The Doors, muito bom!!!

  • Good try boys, but you suck........

  • @mckessa17 stfu 11 year old kid

  • @tupapasito2103 I like tequila

  • @mckessa17 i like u too kid

  • @mckessa17 Wow you are a dumbass! That is the shittiest alcoholic drink ever fucknut? Why don't you drink vodka you motherfucking pussy? Oh thats right because you are a dumbass shithead pussy!

  • Does someone of You know how to get this guitar sound? I guess singles are basic but what else? I really appreciate some hint, tks.

  • WHY DO THIS ARTIST KEEP COVERING PERFECT SONGS...PLEASE STOP SERIOUSLY DAMN!!!

  • sounds kinda grungy

  • loooooooooove the acoustic

  • i love the doors and they arnt that bad i mean simon

  • come on people he was just paying tribute to a extraordinary song by a legendary band. i just feel sad that people arent looking at bands like the doors for inspiration anymore.its a real shame that musics gone to hell, by the way nevermore's virsion of this song is crap!!!!

  • Faak, did not see that one comin ^^

  • Of all the bands in the world to do a cover of this song

    and its duran duran......

  • The Doors... the best band ever!!!!!!

  • horrible..but who doesnt want to emulate morrison? cant knock em for tryin

  • butchers!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought I would be disappointed (come on, Duran Duran covering the Doors?). But they did a good job here. Maybe 'cause they performed it with genuine feeling.

  • not so bad but it's still travesty

  • My couzin likes this band !! :D !!

    And i Like the Doors ! !!

  • surprisingly good

  • THIS RENDITION OF CS IS SIMPLY HORRENDOUS..IT SO LACKS THE DEPTH AND SOUL OF MORRISON I WEEP!

  • Thank you Jim.

    Thank you Simon.

  • NOBODY should even make an "ATTEMPT" TO COVER THE DOORS.

WANNA KNOW WHY? BECAUSE IT SOUNDS "GAY".SOUNDS FAKE.

  • I dont his voice, Jim's voice is like calm and peacefull that makes you slip inside your mind.

  • @theorangebox999

I looks like you a verb.

  • @theorangebox999

I looks like you a verb.

  • I recall in the 80's Reading several times, that Simon Le Bon was a big fan of The Doors. I think he did a fine job with the Crystal Ship. It has a rather gothic, haunting feel to it thats beautiful. I think jim would have approved.

  • very good

  • Simon did an amazing job !! I am a huge DD fan, but I first was in love with Jim Morrison, and he is looking down and he says "Thank you".... It's beautiful....

You are beautiful Simon !!! Tour USA AGAIN!!!

  • he did this song really good is voice

  • Tooooo many People consider doors tunes untouchable. This is a really good version of the song.

  • actually ...... he does this very good,, a pitty ... they always did get bad critisism in the newspapers... (Okay they often played very bad)

  • actually ...... he does this very good,, a pitty ... they always did get bad critisism in the newspapers...

  • Holy Shit. This is actually good. It's undeniably Duran Duran, and it's still true to the Doors. Even the whistling is brilliant. This is just so unexpectedly awesome.

  • Holy Shit, this is actually good. It's undeniably Duran Duran, and it's still true to the Doors.

  • Simon sounds great in that song.

  • not bad. one singer and one guitarist!

  • NO ONE will ever sing it like Jim but this is actually pretty good, I have to say! Great job!

  • Love it!

  • GREAT VERSION

  • they do pretty well, But they aren,t the Doors.

  • I love the doors and I gotta say this is Not bad!!

  • i like Duran Duran and was about to say "good cover" ... until the whistling started, lol, no! i hate whistling!

  • That honestly moved me. All i can say.

  • this is one of the best doors songs- and this is a cool cover ..the lyrics are very 60's which I like alot- " I'd rather fly "

  • I love The Doors and Duran Duran. Wasn't expecting this though. Not bad. Simon actuaclly did a pretty good version.

  • SOUNDS SUPER,NOT EXPECTED dOORS SONG so good from D.DURAN!CHEERS CROATIAN BASTARDS!

  • great cover long live the king

  • nice but..

NEVER do that again - it's to beautiful song to be sang by anyone who is not Morrison.

  • i dont like that voiceeee..... is not half the Morrison's voice..... :(

    nice tribute by the way,,,

  • @heilhack And who is/has half the voice of Morrison? Noone I can think of...

  • @wildcatter63 heheh... that's only a personal opinion..... for me Morrison's voice never could be imitated cause it's unique... OK, yes, i think Morrison has the sexiest voice ever....But as i said before, it's only my humble opinion.... I can think what i want, can't i ? :)

  • this is painful

  • Noooo

  • blah. i give em props for trying, however.

  • Jim is Jim. Period.

Anyway I like the whistling idea...

  • i love duran duran, but this just hurt my ears!

no one can sing 'the crystal ship' like jim did it :-)

  • Good job! Never expected this from Duran Duran!

  • was für polen^^

    lol

    0/5 sternen

  • A good cover for one of my favourite songs : )

  • Aint a Duran duran fan but hey a good cover of a Jim Morrison c & The Doors classic....

  • Surprised i think this is a good version

  • This version is great!

  • This isn't too bad at all. I can't stand Duran Duran, but I give them some respect for doing this song justice.

  • No one like Jim Morrison. He was the one.

  • Love it! Simon has a wonderful voice.

  • i didn't initially expect it to come out this good, and I also am pleased at how he gave the proper credit to the original artist. The whistle was a nice touch as well.

  • dunno why you think duran duran woulndt do justice. of course they are proffessionals at music creation and performance with deep trough of talent.

  • For years during the 80's I didn't like them, too much of a pretty band for my taste, but over the years had come to appreciate their talent. What I like is they play their own instruments, they also have lasted, and have developed an intergenerational fan base unlike the pretty boy bands of today for the most part. Many of them will be forgotten. I also respected them for choosing such a good song to cover.

  • thanks for the message response...

yep duran duran always could play and always did write their own material and produce a lot too...i woulld be right in saying there are a lot of people who like them now in contrast to the 80s as they were labelled pretty boys but duran duran were style and substance.

id go as far to say today they will be one of the best live bands in the world.

  • Agreed with playing your own instruments, and let's face it, John Taylor laid down some pretty damn cool basslines.

  • fabulous song!

  • Great, but Doors is better (OHRLY?)

  • @gtaviciosbr yes he fucking is mr morrison is the man forever

  • not that bad actually, thought it was going to be total shit but i am pleasantly surprised

  • jim would be proud well done

  • Two great singers Jim Morrison and Simon Lebon, Two great keyboardists Ray Manzarek and Nick Rhodes.

  • Not bad

  • this evokes a memory....duran duran..dublin 1993..i was a duran fan./..never heard of this song before to be honest...this set me onto the doors..good music leads you onto other good music.....respect

  • Doors-Worthy cover, really nice, you can hear the emotion coming through in this days voice, and he's a great singer too.

  • better than i expected - original is one of my favourite Doors songs - this was really quite good

  • like the whistle part very talented.

  • I was ready to blast Duran Duran for this but I have to admit...This was great and the fact he immediately thanks Jim shows that he's a class act. Bravo!

  • You know why The Doors sang this song? So Duran Duran wouldn't have to.

  • Damn, I like that version!

  • This might be a The Doors and all, but Duran Duran will also go down in history. Don't compare them to others and forget them.

  • I gotta say this : I'm a die-hard DOORS fan , so I hate everyone trying to be THE LIZARD KING even if honoring him , however in this video Le Bon as I see in here is singing from the bottom of his heart and the guitar playing is suitable for the occassion , so GOOD JOB .

  • I completely agree Zepplica911. This version was much better than I expected and the arrangement with the guitar and whistle was actually quite nice. Yeah, hands off to Duran Duran. Who knew they could pull it off but they did. Cool.

  • @Zepplica911 An artist covering a song doesn't equate to trying to be the artist they are covering. I was not a fan of Duran Duran in the 80s, maybe because their MTV video image got in the way. When I hear them on the radio now, they sound pretty good. I like this version. The whistle works well in this too. I'm a fan of acoustic or stripped down music anyway.

  • @bluejazz51 ..... Yes my friend as you said , image gets in the way most of the times and of course this is a great cover ..

  • @Zepplica911 maybe you should listen to nevermores version, i would love to read your rage on this :E

  • fantastic cover...superb vocal. Le Bon is most certainly one the best live vocalists in the world today and despite the mighty Duran being teenybop pretty boys, they have proven and earned the credibility and respect that they should have had from the start of their career. 11/10 for the mighty Duran Duran.

  • awsome cover

  • dumb

  • bastabte buena

  • I've never been a Duran Duran fan, but this is GOOD

  • @aalsatx of course, couse that is a great song of THE DOORS

  • This is the best live vocal I've ever heard this guy do. Duran Duran were unfortunately more a fashion band, and that may have been a kind of mistake. Nile Rogers, the Producer, thought they were excellent musicians. Made money, but thier work didn't last......40 years later....the Doors did.

  • @AmericanPlatinum Plenty of people still know Duran Duran's hits. Madison Square Garden and a number of other places were recently full of people dancing and singing along to them. People were responding well to the SIX new songs they played as well. They aren't The Doors but it's ridiculous to dismiss them; they are talented and dedicated musicians who work hard and have been making albums and touring for 31 years. It's not their fault the press focused on their looks.

  • Hey, gotta respect musicians man!

    They got good taste :)

  • I absolutely hate Duran Duran...but i was pleasantly surprised...I shall let them live another day

  • Mr. Le Bon Did A Good Job...

  • Awful.

  • I don t like it

  • Well, I favourited this one because they were brave for doing it; they actually did take acid once or twice; and they had that popadelic-certain-something that Jim also had.

    There.

    Enjoy before you die.

  • nice.

  • I think this was good. I've always loved the Doors version, but this one has a charm of its own...mainly in the form of Simon Lebon. :)

  • Put well :)!!

  • Thank you. :)

  • I love the guitar. simon and jim have very different styles, but this was still very good. of course NO ONE can do it like jim did, but hey, jim is dead and simon is not.

  • Although Simon came close to it some years back. Better be more careful on those yacht races.

  • i so love this cover !!!!!!!! awesome !

  • Of course Jim is genious with the best voise. The Doors will live for ever! But this man a good musician and deserves real respect!

  • I like the guitar work.

  • another kiss...

  • The cover on the Thank You album is better than the live version. I think Doors fans that have a shit everytime a Doors song is covered should have the stick removed from there ass. DD did a great job on the whole album, Perfect Day, Thank you, watching the detectives, all good stuff. If shows how true there tallent is to pull it off.

  • ...gee man! The doors is sooo much better, but ..nice try :P

  • lol, very true

  • Big respect: must be very very brave to take this challenge with this enormous song......

  • Fantastic =) ...

  • Poor guy with petty thoughts...! These men have proved, so many times, that they are not queers at all (and even if...?) ; they can fuck with all the women they want, and they do. And you cannot compare J.M. amazing style with Simon awesome one. We just have 2 different band in two different period, with so much talent and as many fans crazy about them ! Think about it little brain...

  • i think he done a good job! he probably just loved this door song and wanted to try it out for himself and why not...he has a nice voice.i would have to say that jims version is amazing because he was a young genius brilliant poet/songwriter..theres not many inspirational bands around now adays like the doors.but back to duran duran ..nice job ! i also love their song save a prayer

  • never really like duran but decent version

  • Impressive version . I wonder would Jim have spat the dummy though!

  • Wow, amazing. Simon is brilliant at this song.

  • i enjoyed this

  • not bad , i love this song jim morrision is our inspiration .This song is timeless!!!!

  • I like the doors too...but, it's not a reason to tell that Simon's cover is bad !!!!

I think that He's probably the only one who can cover this marvelous song, because he really has an awesome voice...he could sing whatever he wants !

  • good try but he's not as good as Jim.

  • 3/10 =/

  • Wow. that sucked. dbag whistling was lame as fuck

  • Love Duran Duran but this is a Jim Morrison wannabee

  • i like duran duran.love the doors

  • Great Cover.

  • Wow...get it Simon! sounds great! i'm impressed.

  • and i don't think it "screams for a keyboard/organ". simon's voice is doing it's job and carrying the song w/o alot of instrumentals. and this is not a far-cry from what they did in the 80s. let's not forget about Save A Prayer.

  • no keyboard no good cover xD

  • yes the doors wren't morrison vocal and lyrics only, was the union of roby ray jim and john and with no keybod and no solo the cover sucks agree totaly

  • simon proves hes the most emotive crooner of his era... as good as g michael is at ballads, would he be able to bring the needed sonorous soul & subtly that this song demands???... morrison was heavily influenced by sinatra & u can hear that line drawn to simon also... he gets the haunt & the sensouness into this that was morrison's signature... he did also w/in his own stylistic touches... very well done & not easy to pull off.

  • Where's Ray!!!

  • i love this cover !and i adore jim morrison , is so sad that he is no longer with us , a waste ! simon is so hot here and i love warren work too ! thanks for posting

  • Oh wow. Like the guy before me said, Morrison would still be better if he was wasted on Acid and booze, than this guy.

  • wow, why is youtube the home of so many homaphobic or racist morons? If anything It's a semi-obscure Doors song that the band is bringing to new people. Get a life

  • agree agree agree

  • lol semi obscure? that must be why it's on multiple greatest hits and best of packages

  • jim morrison on ACID is better than this

  • prity deadley

  • fucking english faggots think they can imitate the great JIM MORRISON. if your gonna at least try to play this song have an organ in it also im just gonna say that his fucken whistling wasnt covering up shit

  • I say, chaps, steady on there. Speaking as a 'fucking' Britsh (non-) 'faggot', I thought this wasn't that bad really. Bordering on 'spiffing'. He acknowledges Jim. What more can you ask for. Covering a classic song isn't exactly a war crime.
