  • We truly gona miss the VR6 sound ...

  • R32

  • If it is a standard gti their may be several controls stopping u from revving 100%.

    Turn traction control off.

Put a wheel block on car so it won't roll and turn e-brake off.

    Try revving.

Doesn't go to max then push clutch in and put in 1st gear.

(DO NOT LET OFF CLUTCH OR U WILL RUN OVER YOUR WHEEL BLOCK AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE VEHICLE.)

    Try revving.

    Hope that helps.

  • If you turn off traction controll the rev limiter goes off too.

  • @dejambandfan that guy has obviously not done a burn out or he would've known this

  • i have 4k rev limiter also, eventhough my gti is manual.

  • I own a 2011 gti but the r32 sounds so sexy

  • R32

  • if you put it in park you can rev to max...

  • That R32 sounds vicious. Too bad only the DSG's were available in the US :( Three pedals for life

  • @rickrossthebosz Don't know specifically mate, ask VW and Audi :)

I believe certain MKV DSG models do this as well as many Audi's with the DSG system. I think it could be designed to protect the gearbox. I drive a manual so I don't have to worry about it haha

  • @camerooney81 Hey mate put it in "P" & it'll rev up to the red line ;)

  • @camerooney81 thank god my parents have 2 manuals too:D 4 k rev limiter :'(

  • @camerooney81 I drive a Mk6 GTI manual and i also have the 4k limiter, the first time i hit it i was like WTF?!

  • @rickrossthebosz cause its in Park gear....if it was in Neutral then he would be able to go all the way up to redline and bounce off of it

  • @rickrossthebosz so you can launch

  • @rickrossthebosz It could be to prevent morons from doing the neutral to D bombs to prolong the life of transmission. Or, it's there because these cars I believe have launch control.

  • @op3l yes i now know it is in park mode ;)

  • @rickrossthebosz Ah ok. Well... /hides

  • @op3l

Only the DSG has launch control. The 4k rev limiter is to keep ricers away. If they can't rev the shit out if it in a parking lot they don't want it.

  • Is this in Wollongong?

  • @mdr279

    Yep at the lighthouse

  • @camerooney81 Ah sweet, I used to live there haha.

  • you are comparing a turbo car with cat back exhaust sound to a v6 NA stock exhaust, that's something to think about

  • The GTI sounds nice but the R32 sounds better :D

  • Hey was just wondering what the r32 is like as a p plater. My dad has one and i'll probably use it for my P's.

  • @328Jacko328

I don't own the R32 (I've got a GTI) but the R32 is a great car. If you have the chance to drive one consider yourself privileged! They're an awesome motor, heaps of grunt and best of all the noise can't really be matched by anything in its price range. TennisRob02 has an r32, he is on p's at the moment, He could tell you how much fun they are. Just watch some of his videos haha

  • Although the R32 sounds better in this vid, I've gotta add that you can't truly hear and understand how loud and great the APR exhaust is until you're driving behind it.

Its extremely sporty and loud (but not obnoxiously loud), kinda growls when the accelerator is pushed and lets off a really nice DSG burble. This vid doesn't do it justice.

    :)
