  • I like it, I've heard other songs from James and I really should buy the CD. I certainly can hear Paul's influence on his singing style. However, I would have fired his hair stylist.

  • A good song, a nice high voice, and a great live performance!

  • Some people are so judgmental. Oh yeah I'm sure James McCartney will follow ErinElvis78's recipe for success. Paul was NOT the most emotionally shallow of the Beatles. The subject matter of his lyrics was not as political or controversial as Lennon's, that doesn't mean he was shallow. I'm guessing the last thing James wants is to be compared with his father or any of the other Beatles. Why should he worry about meeting the approval of snobby music critics who overanalyze everything?

  • If this guy wants to be distinguished in his own right it will have to be for his song writing not for his voice and he will have to do far better than this familiar type contemporary ditty. If I were him I would study the depth of feeling of Lennon and Harrison's songs and derive a degree of frivolity from his fathers, who was the most emotionally shallow of the beatles, IMO(Bongo doesn't count!) I can see him succeed to a 'degree' providing the songs are of far superior quality than this.

  • They sound great! They'd sound even better if somebody would stop f*****g with the volume on the recording.

Why are all your videos like this?

    Thanks anyway.

  • the drummer's great xx

  • i was like, "this guy isn't jesse mccartney! why would someone copy his name" then i did a double turn and realized that it's JAMES not jesse. lol

  • Great sound .Where has this guy been hiding.

  • He looks creepy, wtf...

  • @barkip99 Didn't it ever occur to you that the Paul McCartney/Linda combo more than likely wasn't gonna turn out very good? lol

  • They sounded excellent here.

  • James is GORGEOUS! Super band,

  • OMG ! Just about 50 years ago to the day ~ his father Sir Paul and his buddies debute on the same stage as on Ed Sullivan show. ! Great musician and I do like the song and his band ! :)

Smile James we "lv u 2"

  • @carmenroche88888 48 years

  • good good good

  • Hmm that must be tough, being compared to the greatest music legend ever (his dad).

Very brave for sure, but not easy.

The only one who has been able to pull if off is Enrique Iglesias.

  • Now, if Sean or Julian could hook up! Lennon and McCartney's kids writing music together! How cool would that be?

  • He so good like his dad

  • Vocals sound great! When you have that you can almost do anything! Love the song.

  • I enjoyed the song (like many newcomers on the Letterman show) even if I didn't know who his famous parents were. But I bet Paul & Linda were so very proud!! :)

  • There exists a documentary from 5 to 10 years ago regarding the offspring of famous musicians. A lot of what was covered in that film applies to J.M. Sure, he is OK and does have some talent, however there are hundreds of unknown singer/songwriters out there with as much or more talent who will never be heard outside their local area, as they have no famous parents.

  • @charlyW34 Well said! James may have hated comparisons with his famous father but he would surely fail had he been born just another somebody/nobody!

  • Awesome! And also VERY talented in his own right. ;) Just like the guy I'm a fan of. ;) ;)

  • James sounds great, and he looks so much like his Dad. I love the song!!

  • James is 34. He just started recording and performing about 3 or 4 years ago. The music is just now coming out in the last year and a half.

He played on Paul's Flaming Pie and Driving Rain albums.

  • I really liked the song. James looked nervous but hell - WHO WOULDN'T BE! I'm sure he name helped him get on TV but his talent will have to keep him on it. I think he has that :)

Also - FYI.... James made his network debut here on the Ed Sullivan Theatre stage. The Beatles made their North American debut on that same stage on Feb 9, 1964. How cool is that.

Hey James - I bet your mum was smiling down at you.

  • The song is great... discussing if he looks like his dad is not the point... Paul is Paul... what's the problem? James did this cos' he wanted to... so... end of story

  • @tusitutusitu2 There's no problem. I'm entitled not to swoon and gush over Paul McCartney's son.

  • I thought the song was all right. Anyone have any idea his age, or how long he's been performing? Is he popular in Britian?

  • Whoa. First, he looks like a plump, bad wax museum figure of Paul that's melting, which I know he can't help, but man, get the hair transplant, with all your money. Second, he can't sing. He has not one ounce of his father's stage presence and looked extremely nervous. There's fleeting moments where he sounds like dad, but nope. Stick to just the gittar, Jimmy.

  • @Daddygeezee ...why does James must "sounds like dad"? If you are searching Paul's presence on a stage, just look at him and not his son! pfffffff and critisize someone about his appearence is very little, very stupid. This song is fantastic!

  • Au contraire, mon frere. It is you who be the little stupid one. You failed to grasp the clear point of my comment-he has no talent as a frontman, and can't sing. He just happens to be McCartney's son, but he could be Joe Blow for all I care.

  • Let me help you further with a comparison; Sting's son, Joe, has enormous talent vocally and on bass, and his band, Fictionplane and their music, is very good. I call 'em as I see 'em. There's nothing fantastic about James, the performer, or his music. You're too stupid to know you like him because of his name. And he still needs a transplant.

  • @Daddygeezee Maybe I am stupid but for sure I write english better than you... I am not a man, I am a woman, and you are not my brother... Adieu crétin!

  • @JujufromSaintTropez You only sound stupid when you type your replies, wench. No one here cares what your gender is, and if someone like me doesn't know your gender, it certainly has no reflection of that person's IQ. Be assured that my sentence assembly and grammar was on purpose.

  • You are the BEST!!!

  • Excellent!!!! J'ai beaucoup aimé...;-)

  • Go ahead, James !!!!! Good, very good.....

  • I found myself kind of disappointed that he is right-handed!

  • He stands on his own merits.

  • Looks like a young Mick Green there...

  • Fantastic, James! We all knew this song was going to be a hit, and you, a star! You have a great group, a great sound! Keep rocking and spread your joy. Love from all your Fairfield Fans. ~ Ken
