  • what exactly is caustics¿ Can somebody explain it to me in easy terms? thanks

  • can somebody help me? I want to export video using V-Ray. I mean to make rendered video with V-Ray. I see that you have to use 3d Studio Max after this, but i want to know how to make it with V-Ray first

    Thank you.

  • Imagine this real-time in a game. It's the future.

  • @ryansmuc

that material is a basic preset for mental rays default mia_material_x shader

  • Nice, but you should really give credit to digital tutors... after all that is their model and this was done along side their caustics tutorial....

  • Very nice water caustics!

    Jon

  • beautiful!

  • omfg plz send me the material and teahc me how to use it omg wow that was amazing

  • Awesome effect, was wondering do you have a tutorial on this? This is exactly the effect I'm looking for.

  • very beutiful

  • it is grat.. but the camera movement is too fast i think.. compares it with the solid fluid material.. i think it will looks better with a slow camera movement (:

  • Looks really good - great!!

  • omg how long did it take to render???? sumthing about 48 hours? I guess so :D.

  • @williehrmann lol that would take 20mins to render

  • @danielb1234567891234 ON A RENDER FARM WITH 30xi7 PROCESSORS!

  • @RemixXFX maybe for you

  • @williehrmann that can be done in real-time, so i doubt it really

  • @williehrmann 48 years!

  • @williehrmann Uh, he could have saved the caustics map so that it wouldn't be needed to recalculate the emittance for every frame.

  • How do you use the mental ray?

  • @SuperSonicDragon think about it really really hard ^_^

In the rendering options (F10), at the bottom, select "assign renderer" and change it from default scan line to Mental Ray.

  • that's cool

  • Beautiful efect ! Good !

  • nice

  • much nicer then the maya test you did. you should do a render with the object spinning rather then the camera, to get moving caustics, thats where it gets really cool!

  • and not just side to side, maybe a bit bobbing and whatnot

  • Mental ray PWNS!

  • very nice man ;D

  • I wanted to see that object rolling, to make the Caustics move as well

    Can you do that?

    It'l be awesome

  • That Was Amazing x

  • nice :)

  • It's Very good:)
