My instructor says that Illustrator (Adobe) would be a good thing to start before college and Game Design because of how you are always working wit nodes and vectors. I think it would be a good skill to get good at as well.

@BLACKBINLATIN Well, I think that AND because he said 3D graphics (I assume games like CoD, Gears of War, Halo, etcetera-- ) you may want to look into Maya.

now a days i use maya, motion builder and zbrush and the all mighty unreal engine 3.. and for programming i kno c++, python and ruby =) but thanks for your input
