@pasjk Did Lord Chatterly do an alphabet chat with every letter of the alphabet? I remember him doing an alphabet chat with the letters "B", "H", "O", and "R."
I guess Sesame doesn't think kids today can handle all the commotion that used to stir up in the original segments. I too would like to see someone upload the "letter L" chat. "The chair's loose, I gotta fix the Loose chair."
Dude... I love the part in the end when his chair was bein' lifted off the ground. It's a shame the part where he put a hole in the ceiling was cut off. Oh well. Great clip, though.
Okay so a few balloons don't lift up the backstage guy, but it lifts up a La-Z-Boy with a person sitting in it, with baseball equipment, a bowling ball, a toy boat, and a basketball and net? Interesting.
Does anyone have the skit/scene where Lord Chatterly made a street scene on Sesame Street where he came to Oscar The Grouches trash can to interview Oscar's puppy named Preposterous asking whether he could have Preposterous on his Alphabet Chat show? If anyone has this skit/scene, could you please post it onto YouTube?
I have since gone on and watched whatever other skits from this series I can find. I have seen a world of difference! In the first place, there is the absense of the pipe. This is probably for political correctness. The same reason that Mr. Potato Head surrendered his pipe. On top of that, there was a lot more slapstick in the older ones. It is all really just a sign of the times.
I remember an episode with the letter Q. Cookie Monster was in the window yelling "Quiet!"

@pasjk Have you that episode about the letter Q?

It just doesn't seem right without the pipe.

If Mr. Bull is a fan of sports that begin with the letter "B", he forgot to mention that he's a fan of "Boxing."

No messups on the part of the crew? No Chatterly rage? No PIPE?

Yeah, I guess the SS Muppets became more self-controled over the course of sixteen years =/

I think the original Lord Chatterly was the best. He would throw a hissy fit over everything.
Paulywint 2 years ago 2
@Paulywint
Amen to that! Lord C's fits were really the point of the whole thing!
Why did they calm him down? Did some fussy parent group complain? This version is just sad.

This is the second post I have read by someone who does not like the skit in this form!

@Smartboy8877
It's just not the same without Lord C losing his cool and screaming.

@PandaMishima
Is Lord C the man sitting in the easy chair running the program? If he is, I wonder why they call him that!

@Smartboy8877
It's short for Lord Chatterly.
